Remastered doesn't mean its any better
prowla replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
I do wish the Black Sabbath remasters had taken Ozzy a bit back in the mix and brought Bill Ward up a bit; all the recordings I've heard have the mix a bit wrong. -

You're certainly not going to show the kids "this is what you can sound like if you're any good," that's for sure.

Hello P.T winISD calculations:- Using data from a 2021 spec 12 CMV2 (now replaced by 12 CMV3) your volume calculation of 49.98 for the box and allowing for the volume of the drive and port you should get a net volume of 47 litres. The "fs" for the driver is 49.30Hz. With that you select one vent that is exactly 10cm internal diameter. The vent length will be 12.68cm. With a 100w input the winISD calculation is for an output of up to 116dBa at around 115HZ. Not a bad match at all. If you decide upon two 8.20cm diameter ports (as per the options in winISD) vent length is 20.9cm. It all depends upon the space you have for 1 or 2 ports on the front baffle and or what ports you can buy. -
The preamp EQ frequencies for quite a few bass brands seems to be something they keep close to their chest!

Just in case anyone needs to source a Sire neck

Nice! That's like AliExpress prices but presumably with much better QC. The edges of that fretboard look seriously rolled! -
Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.

Yeah sadly these ones were any colour as long as it's black, but this will do me until I can find something even pointier

The neck profile on these is so nice. Looks like you got a nice clean one, congrats!

Played a set at a bluegrass festival last night as a trio of guitar, mandolin and DB and we all sing. We have done this before and it went well but the leader and main vocalist was not feeling well and it showed with sloppy intros and endings and some other slip ups that are not normal for us. On Saturday and Sunday we play two more sets but with the full 5 piece band and by that time we are hoping the leader has recovered. Not our finest set but that's just the way it goes sometimes.🙄

HILS Next HNB5 Fanned Fret 5-string Bass with Artec 3-band preamp - £490. I picked this bass up as a part exchange this week. Now set up beautifully and sounds fantastic. Very detailed, huge and punchy. Brand new Elixir 40-125 strings, low action with no buzz. Quite light weight, too. Disclosure: The bass has been monkey'd around a bit by the previous owner, who swapped the original preamp for an Artec 3, leaving a slight crack in the finish under the G tuner and a filled hole that was drilled, but you have to look for it in order to notice it. The plus point being that noise-wise it's as quiet as a mouse and sounds huge. Full disclosure: I gave £450 in P/X for this instrument and have added about £70 worth of new strings, so I'm not making anything here. Comes complete with the very nice quality original HILS gig bag. Buyer to collect, or I can meet you half way over a reasonable distance. As usual, interesting trades always considered. Worst I can say is, "No."

Intrigued to see how this is going to go to be honest... We need more bands like this to show the young kids that playing instruments is 'cool'
-
Told you I wasn't digging the black tuners... So, that's it all in matching chrome RE: hardware. Took the opportunity to give the fretboard a drink of lemon oil and restrung with a fresh set of D'addario XL nickel rounds. Think I'm done here.

Christ, it's never easy is it. Ive now ordered another Nux. I had a rehearsal with the BDDI and I love the tone, but I have a few gigs coming up where I'll be using an Ampeg. Can't see the point of using the BDDI, but I do want a bit more drive on some songs. There is no way to add this with the BDDI without the blend being up, and I feel things could start getting messy. The Nux can be used just as a drive and without colouring the sound. For now this will work better. Im keeping the BDDI though
