  3. Yeah I saw this and as much as I’m a fan of the band it’s not for me. No disrespect to Frank, he’s my best mates nephew (tho I’ve never met him) but for me without JR it’s not the Pistols.
  4. Starting to look that way 😬
  5. I haven't the first idea why I"ve got these, I've never owned a medium scale bass so I can only assume I was half cut or hungover when I bought them. Found them the other day when I was having a sort out. They've never been on an instrument in their life so effectively as good as new. £25 posted to you. I think they're £50+ in the shops!
  6. Great pedal in used condition but working perfectly. With manual and box. Price includes uk mainland postage. Price drop so now £60 posted.
  7. NAD. Upgraded the Abm 600 for the new 750. Perfect
  8. This has got a nice feeling neck - it’s got some heft to it - I played the JMJ and I prefer this neck - but I put Alnico 5 pups in this to get the bite the JMJ has - but no worries a JMJ is a good bass - though I think this is better but short scale isn’t for me hence sale
  9. Bandmix attracts a lot of imbeciles who tick every box, so if I look for a band that's seeking a bass guitarist, 80% of them are also apparently seeking accordion, acoustic guitar, background singer, bagpipes,..., vocalist (tenor). JMB isn't great to search on - I want to look for bands up to 40 miles away, which means Staffs, Warks, Derbys, West Mids, Notts, Leics at least. At least Bandmix lets you effectively stick in a pin and draw a circle, although its interpretation of "distance" appears entirely random after that (no, London is not within 50km or whatever it is).
  10. Those CS60 pickups, be they Jazz or Precision are great, really transform a bass.
  11. Do you mean the strap button? Why is it "in the back of the body?" Can you move the button to the side of the body?
  12. I would say the Ashdown RM800 would be a great amp to go for especially as they are selling off their B stock For that money they cannot be beat in my opinion Orange LBT is a nice alternative and sensible price too or MarkBass LM IV Also the EBS Reidmar 752 is a fantastic amp and often overlooked ( it’s also very loud ) At the high end you’ve got the amazing Trace Elliot TE1200
  13. What will Mr Lydon's take on this be? https://www.vulture.com/article/sex-pistols-reunite-without-johnny-rotten.html
  14. From the FB group Sticky: how to get your new Ampero Stomp 2 up and running without issue. Here's some 'if I had my time again' advice. I'm going a bit on memory here so others may wish to correct the advice. This is based on a device that was at hardware v1.0.0 and firmware version v1.0.0 (press Global/ About to see your version numbers). I am using Win10. Before plugging the Stomp in or switching it on, download the generic USB Asio driver, the latest version of the firmware and the Stomp Editor software. With the Stomp disconnected, install the Asio driver and the Editor software. Restart your computer. Connect your Stomp to the computer using the supplied USB lead. Some people have found that it is better to make a direct connection to the computer rather than going through a USB hub. Switch on your Stomp. Run the Editor software. If your Stomp isn't recognised, try changing the USB lead or connecting directly to the computer rather than through a hub. If it still isn't recognised, you probably need to update the firmware. The process is described in the Editor software, which will be saying that it can't find a device. Basically, you hold down three particular buttons on the Stomp as you switch it off and on, then browse to where you downloaded the latest version of the firmware, then press go. If your device is now listed under Control Panel/ Sound, or under Device Manager, but the Editor software still can't see it: go to https://www.hotoneaudio.com/support/2 and select the "Solution of Ampero II and Stomp Hardware & Software Connection Problem." Note that the location of the updated audio driver software is described on page 2. When you click the audio update file, it will probably suggest that you extract all files before running them. Be careful of where you extract them to as the file names can exceed the 256 letter limit in Windows. If you just extract to your desktop or Downloads you'll be fine. Having done this, my Stomp was recognised by the Editor software and as an audio device b y Windows.
  15. Bandmix isn’t great because folk cannot message you unless they pay ! Works if you use an easy to find contact name on Facebook etc but apart from that it’s good but a shame you have to pay to make contact with musicians or bands
  16. haha yep it can do that by the fist full, you can get as you know quite extreme with it. i do like that sharp quick gate punch you get at the beginning of the note, it really "pops" the notes out so much more that other compressors i have tried and works really well on bass. sounds good recorded as well. its one of the main reasons i got it as i tried 'i.clarke's' one, who is on here and lives just down the road and then spent about 6 months looking for one. that sound pulled back abit so not so extreme is also a killer sound for that "poppy" mark king slap thump,
  17. I was trying to say it likely isn't worth much without being insulting to the OP (he sounds young - he said his parents bought the amp for him). I'm well aware that it has no connection, save for the name, with real Hiwatt amps produced by the late, lamented Dave Reeves.
  18. I use BandMix and haven't needed to pay. I'm not sure what paying gets you?
  19. MMMMMMMMMMM... AMEK i have used mine for bass quite alot, i have the 9098 pre eq and if you want to get finite with your bass sound then this is the elephants clackerbag. love that.
  20. These are great amps. I love mine. Good luck with the sale.
  21. JMB, like any open-to-anyone site, has an enormous variety of people posting. They range, as does all of humanity, from the sublime to the ridiculous in terms of personality, ability, manners, etc. The fact that a few may be less than ideal is no reason to knock JMB itself. I've joined a couple of decent bands via JMB. It was especially helpful when I moved to a completely new area and wanted to make contact with local players and find a band or two to play in. Sure, I had to follow up on a few red herrings and sort the wheat from the chaff, but that's just what you have to do in most aspects of your life. If you don't mind paying, BandMix is worth a look.
  22. Saw that on Facebook I think. Glad someone bought it and saved me from myself. Always liked Wilkes basses and you don’t see many about.
