  2. Chris, if I didn't already have a Ui-24 plus a Ui-12 arriving tomorrow morning then I'd have this off you in a flash. I could almost be persuaded that I should do a deal for it anyway so that @Silvia Bluejay and I have a spare for our frontline (>80 gigs a year) mixer. How interesting would a bass need to be to get your attention?
  3. I was in contact with the owner of this bass a few months back but lost touch with him, he sold it for a lot less than this asking price and yes he said it was extremely light, my missed oportunity...
  4. I bought this to pair with my Trace Elf head and I love it to bits. Sad to relate, @Silvia Bluejay is the sound engineer for my bands and she's taken agin' it, doesn't like the sound, won't let me use it. Not best pleased, but what can you do? My loss, your gain. It's handy that there's a handy carry-handle which handles it duty with ease. Not pristine but a quick wipe with a damp rag would help. As you can see, I was dahhhhhn the lockup when I took these photos, and damp rags were in short supply. Thank God for that! I was getting quite concerned about the Formaldehyde, and positively apoplectic about the Casualdehyde. Listed at a silly-cheap price since I know that the main competitors for this cab have slashed their prices recently.
  5. This one popped up on Facebook - UK Bass Marketplace - Buy, Sell & Trade, but you can find it on his actual website too. It looks the business, and whilst quite pricey, the main reason I'm posting here is that he claims it weighs just 7lbs 13oz, and that is astonishing for a 70's P bass if it's true. Does anyone know the dealer, or has had any dealings with him? https://www.20thcenturytoys.co/all-products/p/1971-fender-precision-bass-sunburst-ohsc Rob
  6. QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs

  7. True, they're "regular" Nordstrand Big Splits but with a wider spacing to match that of the EHB and to compensate for the fanning. They still use a standard soapbar casing for the sake of being able to change them out without having to do routing though. Swapping pickups is most definitely still a thing, although I haven't heard of many people who weren't happy with their Nordstrands
  8. As per title used briefly on a shortscale Stingray. Cut for 3+1 or 2+2 basses. Lightly used. Price includes UK postage. PayPal please.
  9. It isn’t but it’s a similar set up.
  10. Considering the bass I was thinking of is about 5m from me, you'd have thought I would remember. Of course, the Variax doesn't have a conventional pickup so a thumbrest is necessary for the non-floating-thumb types (like me).
  11. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve tested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.

  12. Electro-Harmonix Clone Theory Vintage Chorus Pedal NYC Made 70’s/80’s This is the one made famous in the 80’s by musicians including Peter Hook, John McGeoch and again later by Kirk Cobain. You can get sweeping chorus, subtle vibrato, to mad flange and synth like sounds from this unit. It’s a hard wired mains unit and the casing has plenty of dings and touch ups to the paint. It works perfectly and sounds great. These are quite rare now. I’ve owned two and this is the one that is all original. It’s an old pedal and like most vintage EH gear a bit noisy but it’s not a particular issue for live gigs.

  13. The rounded "headstock" is so much easier on the eye than the standard square cut necks... GLWTS
  14. The walls of my late-victorian terrace are seemingly made of a mixture of sand and, er, cheese? So I don't hang anything heavier than an acoustic guitar by its neck. I keep my basses and various other household instruments in a big wooden rack that fits into an alcove. It's something my wife designed and made from the remains of a heavy oak table. I'd been looking for a new stand to replace my manky old one, but found they're all designed with guitars in mind – that means basses sit leaning back at an angle, forcing you to either bash them into the wall all the time or make bad use of space by leaving a 30-cm gap behind the rack. Here's the design mock-up in my wife's old workshop with CNC'd dummy versions of my basses.
  15. Inca Silver is a great 'Ray colour...
  16. Send me your address and I’ll send it to you when I can find a stamp. Don’t have the screw to go with it. Yours if you’ll use it. (These were from a vintage bass that I swapped to Straplocks. I genuinely can’t remember age and all that.)

  18. It would be easiest to use a thin carbon fibre plate/strip. Weighs nothing, is stiff, and could be taped to pickups (3M VHB). Can be removed if necessary.
  19. Tidied up a bit on here, I think that maybe part of this should continue as a private conversation while it is being resolved
  20. This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.
