  1. Past hour
  2. This is the Dynacord Reference 3000 4x10 combo I still have it although I very rarely use it due to the weight but this was very high quality and expensive gear back in the 80's.
  3. Great little cab, I love mine
  4. He's not. He filmed himself while doing it, and during the car ride back home described in full detail to his selfiecam what he has taken home with him, including many photo's and video's of everything.
  5. If you can hold out till December, Gardiner Houlgate have a left-handed Wal Mk 3 five-string with both fretted and fretless necks in their next auction - https://www.guitar-auctions.co.uk/sale/249/161/1989-Wal-Mark-3-frettedfretless-lefthanded-bass-guitar-made-in-England. That give you time to save up.
  6. Kept as a backup for my RM800 for a while - now too big for my new cab. In reasonable condition, works great except for valve drive circuit which is noisy/scratchy when blended but does function hence low price, could just need a new 12AX7. Collection only, Bromsgrove (M42/M5 junctions).
  7. Back on sale. Price drop to only £160 including UK delivery. Not looking for trades as I've seen something shiny I want, but don't be afraid of making an offer, I won't be offended.
  8. That horse boltedfiftybyears ago...
  9. Just remember that problematic rooms are a function of both time domain and frequency domain issues, and a frequency domain solution may only make it better at the point of measuring/listening and may well be making the problem worse elsewhere in the room. Often moving or changing the direction in which the PA points can have just as much effect as EQ. If you are going to use EQ make a point of standing in various different locations in the room to check the effects.
  10. It's also not a standard scratchplate and the routing on the OLP bodies is just massive trenches (shame, a clear scratchplate would be nice otherwise) so the previous owner might just have decided to relocate the controls. Although I would associate a diamond layout more with a two-pickup bass.
  11. I see no spam. There's no need to apologise. You are bang on topic with those links. Thanks.
  12. ESP LTD B208FM 8 string bass Basswood body with flame maple top in transparent black finish, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, dual humbuckers and active 3 band preamp. The bass is in great condition with a recent fret dress, setup, and a new set of D’Addario strings. It comes in a Gator ABS case which has taken damage to its corners and is cracked in places. It’s serviceable, but not something you would want to use day to day. Bass is located in SE19 Upper Norwood. Thanks for looking.
  13. Hi @zhillera I started playing in the early 80's. Didn't play that long, and had an absence of nearly 25 years. So I know what that's like.... funnily enough, i enjoy it even more than i did back then. I'm with you on the varied taste too. I like a bit of classical, was into rock, then developed a liking for punk, ska & reggae, and these days I like folk & world music. Yes, playing upright bass is more physical than you might think. I've tried convincing a DB player to try Uke Bass rather than give up. I don't think I'd manage without playing at all 😱 Welcome to BC, and welcome back to the world of Bass. Hello from South Wales
  14. Such a brilliant bit of kit. I've had mine since they were launched and I've never regretted getting it. It's the heart of my home studio. I know some people are holding out for the L6 Stadium - but so far they have no plans for a rack unit of it because they are unconvinced that a rack would sell as many this time round. The L6 main guy has said so repeatedly - and if it ever comes it will probably be £2000 + foot controller. So this is a real bargain.
  15. Foggy Mountain Dew - Alan Lomax
  16. If only it was in the UK 😢
  17. Assuming that there's no major issues with the neck - MusicNomad do a great (if a little overpriced) little setup tool kit for accurate truss rod, nut, action adjustments, with an easy to follow "how to" booklet. While it may seem overpriced (around £70)- it's a whole lot cheaper than a professional luthier setup and should last a lifetime. Kit can be used with all 6 string electrics, acoustics and basses. Don't want to breach BC's Ts&Cs so won't add link. FYI Fretting E string, 1st fret (using capo or similar)and 12th fret - gap at 6th fret between fret and string should be about 0.2mm. If gap too big, tighten truss rod (very slightly). If no gap, truss rod needs loosening. Of course, your playing style will affect your final setup adjustment.
  18. I think for the look headless is the way forward. I had a cricket bat Hohner before but didn't get on with the string spacing. The dream would be a headless bass with a body, like a Status... I had a Washburn Status but the neck was always bowing one way or another so I moved it on. I've never seen a lefty Hohner Jack before.
  19. I've got a US one already!
  20. As promised, photos of my new graft 4 J type which was delivered today from Alan. It’s a beauty!
  21. selling my incredible 1975 Musicman HD130 amp. Bought this back in 2021 and had a flight case made it for it straight away. Was serviced just before I bought it as well. Sounds amazing.

  24. Just a note to say that I will be travelling down from Aberdeen to the SE Bass Bash next weekend - so if you live somewhere along a rough line between Aberdeen, via Glasgow, North Yorkshire, down to the Eastern fringes of the capital, and fancy this bass delivered personally to your door then let me know. This offer does not extend to inside London - I'd rather post it than drive into London, lol. PM me if this is useful to your bass acquisition activities...
  25. Ah, this is the problem. The valve combo probably sounds awesome, but I really like the green/black aesthetic The amp is perfect, except it's probably a 6 hour round trip to collect But thanks for sharing!
  26. I dont find Durscell a snug fit so connector can loosen
