I think you'd be safe with this one Lozz. https://www.thomann.co.uk/sandberg_california_vs_lionel_pf_bk.htm?srsltid=AfmBOop68odtvY22cC7MOJ5e3dIi5pbPqQ9y96_qnavhNNdId965YODafgE

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
dmccombe7 replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
I guess you can look at this in different ways. 1. Accept he's not up to your standards but he might be forced to improve himself over time if he's playing with better musicians. 2. You take the lead on the rhythm section and you drive the low end. Sometimes that can work. 3. Keep this drummer until a better one comes along. 4. Just tell him he's not suitable. Its definitely a lot easier if everyone is at a similar level and have a similar outlook with regards the band. My big concern with a drummer that is a bit loose is "will he put in the work to learn the songs." ? Maybe he's not been playing in a band for a while ? No matter what i wish you all the best and hope it works out for you. Dave -
Well, that would explain the blown speakers!

Ah, I hadn't thought about that; I think the originals are pressed and the other driver has a cast chassis. I'll check when I get home. Thanks for the tip!

Some of them are.

I have owned one of these in the past. Don't be put off by the shape - I found mine surprisingly ergonomic - it balances well and the top edge of the body formed what I can only describe as a "shelf" for my forearm to rest on. Really quite pleasant playing experience, and sounded good too. I felt enriched and enlightened by the experience of owning and playing one. And yes, you feel like a bloomin' rock god when you're playing it - you will throw shapes and pull faces. GLWTS!

Does your driver have a cast aluminium chassis? Drivers with a cast chassis tend to be larger in diameter than those with a pressed steel chassis. So, a replacement driver with a pressed steel chassis might fit. Check out the specs provided by the driver manufacturers, where the precise diameter is usually stated.

Well a year on and having done a lot of work on my fretting hand technique fortunately this doesn`t seem to have gotten worse. I did at first buy a couple of basses with thinner necks but they`re not really my preference so put the hours in on said technique, all seems ok. I have also added in turmeric/black pepper/giner supplements as @Geek99 suggested, and a daily tablespoonful of olive oil to my diet, both apparently natural anti inflammatories, so these may also have had an effect, as they certainly have on my back which also feels better.

Met with drummer number 934 last night for a start up which has been failing to leave the runway for months now. Or is it 935? I forget. Anyway, he seemed like a nice chap, if a little loose as a player. I have ludicrously high standards where drummers are concerned but the rest of the band are more relaxed about it all. So we're going to see if this line up will work. I'm not convinced, but it's only rock n roll, right? -

I think that as a user, I'd also be inclined to use a MIDI FS to extend the three buttons. Maybe something like the MVAVE Chocolate, though the QC has 8 buttons and I often have many of them assigned per 'pedal board'. For volume and expression, I'd like to try a smaller pedal like those from Paint Audio, but not the tiny versions as I'm a size 13 in ma slippers!

Gosh! That sounds very well thought out and I'm very impressed by your attention to level detail. A cidered-up audience will smell very appealing... apple... peeling... I'll get my coat. -

Apparently not - the reviews say people have them fitted in Broncos without any modification. I think the pickup itself is the wrong size for a typical 51-style P Bass. There's a YouTube video from the Tape Farm where he says the same thing about this pickup too. We'll see when it arrives. EDIT :- link to the same pickup on US Amazon - some reviews at the bottom show it in a Squier Bronco without modification. https://www.amazon.com/LYWS-String-Guitar-Pickup-Alnico/dp/B01L907IV8#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor -
It's been a busy week here at Dood Towers, but I did get to power up Anagram last night albeit somewhat briefly. My initial reaction is that the UI is really simple to navigate and I managed most actions without the need for a manual, which is always good for those with RTFMaphobia. Looking forward to getting my basses connected and then I will collate these questions to include in my video review.

No problems, it's been a confusing topic because it's a bit weird. There's been lots of "well maybe it's a capture", "if you add a distortion block in front of it it sounds great", "I only use a clean sound anyway" answers, but nothing clarifying what's actually happening

As others have said the holds of all modern planes are pressed and temperature controlled. Animals are regularly transported this way. Your cab will be fine, although it would be best cased or otherwise properly packaged as though you were going to send it by carrier service. About 10 years ago someone on the SOS forum did a test with a max/mim thermometer in their hold luggage. I can't find the thread right now otherwise I would have posted a link, but the outcome was that the hold temperature pretty much corresponded to the cabin temperature for the flight. The only time in the last 25 years I have flown in a plane where the hold probably wasn't pressurised and temperature controlled, all the important luggage was transported in unused seats in the cabin under scrim netting. Also the whole flight was at an altitude low enough for me to easily make out vehicles on the roads we passed over so there wouldn't have been much pressure difference in unpressurised hold compartments.

You'll need to get a small file, as it'll be slightly too big for the pickguard. -
In terms of QC captures, I think there is a lot more to it than capturing a single sound. Its effectively machine learning, the QC sends all kinds of signals into the device it is capturing for several minutes and "learning" what each signal makes the device do. So, in effect it absolutely does capture amp break-up and reproduces it rather well.

There was one for sale some years ago in France at a decent price, when I was in my JD years, it took time to sell and I should have bought it, but preferred an immaculate white Mark King "signature". 🤷
