  1. Past hour
  2. We all know you've had that shouted at you before for very 'different' reasons...
  3. I've always really fancied one of these... but, it has one string too few for me! If a 6er (or 7er!) ever crops up at a not unrealistic price, I'd be very interested.
  4. BMW connection??
  5. Having a bit of a clear out so up for sale here is my Warwick Streamer STD fretless. Sadly doesn't get played as much as it used to so it has to go! I got it in a trade for a double bass over 10 years ago so I don't know that much about it. From what I've found on t'internet these seem to be German made using a cheaper body wood and electronics than the full-on Warwicks, same necks though. It's served me well though and is in good condition. The finish on the body is oil rather than Poly or Nitro so there are a few small dents but nothing too serious. I don't have a case for this so collection/meet-up is the only option. I live in Nottingham but happy to travel an hour or two if that helps.

  6. Having a bit of a clear out so up for sale here is my Ibanez PCBE14MH Acoustic-Electric Bass. Only had very light use, mostly at home although I did gig it once. In fantastic condition with no issues. 32 inch scale makes this very easy to play. Currently strung with black nylon tapewounds which sound great to me. Comes with a soft case but I don't have a hard case for this so collection/meet-up is the only option. I live in Nottingham but happy to travel an hour or two if that helps.

  7. Having a bit of a clear out so up for sale here is my Harley Benton Fretless Bass Uke. A fun little thing and sounds pretty good when amplified. Played it on a couple of gigs but that was ages ago so time to move it on. Comes with a soft case but I don't have a hard case for this so collection/meet-up is the only option. I live in Nottingham but happy to travel an hour or two if that helps.

  8. Keeley Bassist - Boxed, Very good condition, velco fitted, no power supply. £120 Source Audio Hot Hand 3 - boxed. Think I plugged this in 10 years ago and couldn't be bothered with the learning curve. The rubber finish on the receiver is starting to go tacky, no idea what to ask for this, £30? Ampeg SGT-DI - Hasn't left the house, small mark above the "aux in" but otherwise very good knick. £230. Prices include UK shipping, any questions please ask, cheers!

  9. Nice words 👌 Mani's passing has really thrown me to be honest. I didn't know him, never met him yet the positive influence he had on my life is massive. I saw the Roses live in 1990 before I became a musician and for me, Mani stole the show (no easy feat considering the company he was with). I couldn't take my eyes off him. I decided that day that I was going to be a bass player. I sold my car, bought a bass and amp and stayed in for nearly 2 years going at it. Growing up, none of my family were musicians, my folks didn't even listen to music yet along came the Stone Roses and kind of gave me permission to follow my dreams and be in a band. I can't stress how much that meant. Their interviews were as good as the album and equally inspiring. Right time, right place and I was the right age (17/18). I suppose they were like my generation's Sex Pistols in a way. Everyone who saw them picked up instruments and formed bands. Mani was the everyman firebrand who made the Roses so relatable to so many. It's wonderful to see how loved he is these past few days. Hard to accept that someone that seemed larger than life with so much talent, character and infectious positivity is gone. Right at the time he was planning on making waves again and start getting back out there. Seems so unfair. But such is life... I have been smiling a lot at one memory though... I was right at the front for his first gig in Manchester with Primal Scream, his "homecoming" and comeback all in one. He came out wearing a Man Utd shirt and his Rickenbacker, massive cheeky grin as he started playing the first couple of bars of 'Adored for fun and the place erupted! All chanting Mani! Mani! Mani! for a very long time. He had to tell everyone to calm down so they could start the show! Bloody brilliant! So long superstar x
  10. A highly interesting and fantastic amp: I ordered the Sisma directly from Jad Freer a while ago. Loud, warm, fat—really awesome! The preamp is based on the legendary Ampeg B15 amp, combining a warm, vintage-like sound with modern features and, of course, significantly less weight. The amp is truly phenomenal, but—I don't play any vintage or Fender-style basses—I'm perfectly happy with my Glockenklang Blue Bird and Vanderkley Spartan. So this fantastic amp is up for grabs and will hopefully be put to good use. I took it to a few rehearsals and two gigs. With less than 20 hours of use, the amp is in absolutely pristine condition and easily passes for new. Save some money and skip the 20 weeks waiting… Specs: Tube preamp based on the iconic B15 sound, studio grade D.I. and Fx Loop, proprietary transistor analog class G power section with high quality switching power supply. 700W @ 4Ohm / 350W @ 8Ohm / 950w @2Ohm Only 3,9Kg – 8.5 lbs. / 25 × 28.5 × 6 cm – 9.8”x 11,2”x 2,3” inch SISMA is the first official bass amp released by Jad Freer Audio which aim to combine the qualities of a classic tube preamp with the punchy and detailed sound reproduction of a big transistor power section maintaining a portability prerogative, until now, only of class D technology. 11. There's probably not much more to say... Caveman Audio builds absolute high-end equipment. Here is the small “portable” version of the fantastic bass preamp. Unlike the fat BP1, this unit fits on any board and isn't such a huge piece of gear (but still delivers that classy Caveman sound). I have both versions – small and large – and have never used this pedal, because I built a new board directly with the fat one. It hasn't even been used for two hours; it was just stored in the studio... Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention when I was putting it away and the pedal apparently slipped over a case lid or something similar: there are a few scratches on the underside, as you can see in the pictures. Apart from that, the device can be described as absolutely mint condition. Never installed on a board, no rehearsals or gigs. I am the original owner and ordered the pedal directly from Caveman Audio, it was delivered at the end of 2023. Asking for 417 GBP | 475 Euro
  12. wicked brian that's lovely really brought it back to life brian
  13. You're not knocking the bass, only naming everything you think is wrong with it.
  14. This is my old bass! I part ex’ed it to Will and really should not have done so! i will send you a PM
  15. And coming next week “ To tort, or not to tort? That is the question” hint: the answer is torte
  16. Thanks for reply. Let me double check, I'm sure the pickup wire is going to the volume pot. If you zoom in you will see. B
  17. I'm not knocking the bass. But if you scratch through the colour it's pale maple underneath, not roasted which would be the same colour throughout. The pickups are another downgrade, from roswell to HBs own generic version.
  18. I have a simple Roland FP-30 Stage Piano for teaching duties, but I regularly play on a lovely Roland HP-508 at a pupil's house. So whatever the equivalent Stage Piano to the 508 is, I'd highly recommend it. Lovely action and fantastic sound. Also, there's no real need to plough thousands into a Stage Piano - I previously had a Casio Privia PX-310 which was a fantastic Piano at the time, and my current Roland only cost me £250 barely used from a lady on Gumtree.
  19. Mmmmmmm. Yummmy!
  20. It's not. It's a rebadged wesley cougar. The brand was associated with antoria in the 70s, went under, then name revived by a budget brand in 90s. Its junk.
  21. Don't let the 1980s video game console housing fool you. This makes some modern quality noise !
  22. Either serious concentration creating beautiful music, or trying to let one slip mid song without anyone noticing. You decide.
  23. Yeah, bands playing covers eh? Not sure the Zoutons are complaining too much about the royalty cheques they're getting each year, though?
  24. Look carefully at the official EMG diagram, you'll see what you're doing wrong! The pickup is entering the volume pot below, not above and you mismatched the position of the connectors on the tone pot!?! So the inputs and outputs are totally wrong. Double check everything before going any further.
  25. Cheers Bas. Yeah, if only Mark Ronson didnt go and mess it up 🤣
  26. Here's a slightly prophetic one I found at my parents the other day... A 16yr old me wearing a T-Shirt that says 'Reuben' on it. 22 years later we now have a 2yr old son called Reuben!
