  1. Past hour
  2. Great gig, nice size crowd and lots of dancing. It was a real fun night for me. I didn't use an amp. I played direct out and the stage monitors were great. Daryl
  3. Today
  4. Playing in a reformed NWOHM Band, getting a few gigs, having fun, but I was"going down for the third time" financially. Then we were booked to play Wacken (in Germany) but had to come up with the money for Flights, Accommodation etc., in a rather short time, so that was me out... Introduced them to a (rich) Bassist I knew, and he fitted like a Glove, so happiness reigned all round. Two weeks later, I wandered into the local Hostelry to find a 'Tibute Band' playing, and the Singer, who i'd known for years, asked if I could jump in for the 2nd Set, as their Bassist was spewing his guts out in the Bogs. (Food Poisoning). I said yes, jumped up and had a great time. Five days later, the Singer popped round my Abode, and asked if I was doing anything, because their Bassist had suddenly decided they were gigging too much for him. One swift Rehearsal, and I was on the road again, making a Mint, so it all turned out well in the end. Stayed with them until I had to retire...
  5. Hi, I’m downsizing ahead of a house move. This is a lightly used Ashdown Studio 15 in the limited Tweed finish. Great cosmetic & working condition, a very nice size & weight & convenient combo for shifting around (~12kg), I’ve found it perfect for reasonable volume rehearsals & jams (not for silly loud drummers & AC30’s), comes with a “custom” hot covers padded cover. I preferred this over a Barefaced One10 + mini head, it’s so convenient. The metal panels started with a sympathetic/resonant vibration a few months old, Ashdown suggested it’s common & offered to dampen it on a case-by-case basis, rather than the hassle I stuck lots of bitumen sheets in there (black triangles & rectangles) & it’s been solid since. Looking for cash/transfer on collection please, offers & try-before-buy welcome, from Downend Bristol BS16.
  6. Lovely. Used to own one just like this and highly recommend if yours is as good. GLWTS
  7. Excellent, this is why I always recommend the best service you can find… premium service, even at a premium price is always a better value.

  9. Nope Judging by “them changes” youre doing fine
  10. If I bought this, could you have it delivered right way up? The photos seem a bit southern-hemisphere

  18. Have played many genres, from death metal to Americana, blues to goth and even funk/hip hop. Not great in any of them, let's be honest, but solid and reliable enough to be first call for a Grammy-nominated blues rock singer over the past 15 years and to have been regularly gigging in all the coolest small/mid sized London venues (Dublin Castle, Half Moon, 100 Club etc). Had to step away from my goth/post punk band The InSect due to family circumstances at end 2024 and looking to get back into a band - preferably post punk/goth (maybe even a tribute band to Joy Division, Cure, Banshees etc) or loud guitar-based rock/metal. If that band preferred rehearsing on a weekday, rather than weekend, all the better. Better yet if in SW/W London but fine to travel to Camden/Dalston Ideally would be rehearsing once every 1-2 weeks and gigging once a month. Downsides. I am not a spring chicken (I am old enough to have seen Bauhaus supported by The Birthday Party and Bon Scott singing for AC/DC). I am therefore not great with Tiktok trends like flapping my hands and shouting 6-7. Upsides. I am solid, reliable, have good gear, transport and a reasonable amount of time on my hands, as I am semi-retired, plus I look like an ageing rock god (OK the last bit is boll*cks). But I do have hair.
  19. Meanwhile in Bolivia, tickets for Juanes (not really my cup of tea but a big name in Latin 'rock/pop' for the last 30 years or so) are about 60 quid for VIP and the cheap seats are just over a tenner. Venue holds around 6 thousand I would guess Now Bolivia is not a wealthy country so there is less purchasing power but there is the same level of touring overheads so if Juanes and all his crew are making money it suggest that somebody in all the examples you have given is making A LOT of money. I am sure they could still make money at half the prices they are charging bit greed is the creed....
  20. tea prices are still up and down. so looks like the free tea bag, is a no go for now. will keep you up dated as and when markets dictate
  21. I think this shows how they value you Daryl. Hang in there.
  22. Two very intimate gigs in London so far this week Monday was Emma Swift at The Troubadour, with her other half Robyn Hitchcock as support, then Wednesday was Robyn aboard the replica of Drake's ship The Golden Hinde in Southwark, with Emma providing b/vox for a few numbers.
  23. Bump for a couple of great cabs, happy to separate or do a little deal for both… jonny
