  2. And who can blame them. I wonder what the reaction would be if a Japanese consumer emailed a guitar shop in this Country enquiring in their own language too. I've had a look at the Ishibashi website. Looks okay though much of course is in their own dialect. They don't have specifically what I'm looking for however easy to see they're geared up to trading with overseas buyers
  3. That's good to hear. Thank you
  4. It depends on exactly what your gigging circumstances are, I have a Mark bass amp that is 300 watts and the band I am in uses a pa and the bass goes through that as well as through the speaker on the combo amp and I am considering downgrading as this amp is absolute overkill for our gigs, I think the loudest I have had it is 9 o clock on the volume, even if we were not using a pa I think the amp produces more volume than I would ever need for our pub gigs.
  5. Nice to see shortscale Stingrays becoming available again in Europe but hell - not cheap at £2800. Not sure if these are special editions as they are active unlike other shorties. Whatever the case it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting a stablemate for my Starry Night passive version. https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChsSEwjVsoOphtSSAxUImVAGHVbDCdYYACICCAEQMxoCZGc&co=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1bKDqYbUkgMVCJlQBh1WwwnWEAQYGiABEgLGGfD_BwE&sig=AOD64_38pwaJ7xkdS4I4ymfMLkT_zbJJ9g&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwigrP-ohtSSAxU8W0EAHe9zCTgQwg8oAHoFCA0QtwE&adurl=

  9. I'm not sure to be honest, is there any way you can measure them? It looks like they are the larger 1/2" size, but I could be wrong
  10. Another seamless bargain deal done. Everything you want from an online transaction. Deal with confidence! Shug

  12. Three Little Birds - Bob Marley
  13. I had a deadish/dullish spot on a '79 Precision Bass - it was centred around the 2nd fret/F# on the E. It just sounded ponky and the F and G were just less dull. The notes just went quieter, too. Other strings weren't affected. Didn't seem to matter what I did new/old strings etc. nothing made any difference. All I really did was to subconsciously dig in harder when I was on those three notes. The was no recourse with Fender, I just put up with it until I sold on the bass and bought a Thunderbird and it became someone else's problem. It's the only bass I've had that had the issue.

  15. For me, the reason I am using the MPC live is that I wanted something which wasn't an iPad to take live and use. OK, the iPad is more capable, but the live is a chunk of hardware with professional audio connections and thick rubber pads that I can press - if I kick it I will damage my foot. I already have an iPad for lyrics and controlling the mixer, I don't want to have to have another one for other stuff.

  21. The Tobias Classic 6 bass with serial number 2105 dates to the period immediately following Gibson's acquisition of Tobias, dating to late 1992 or early 1993. Production Period Details Gibson Transition: Michael Tobias sold the company to Gibson in 1990. Basses with serial numbers up to 2044 are considered the last "California" models (made in Burbank, Los Angeles). Nashville Production: Serial number 2105 follows the last California production serial number, indicating that this particular instrument was one of the first produced at Gibson's new facility in Nashville, Tennessee. The entire original luthiers did not relocate to Nashville, leading to differences in the production process compared to previous models. Features: Despite the change of location, the first basses produced in Nashville retained many of the original design features. This 6-string bass likely still features the asymmetrical neck and original Bartolini pickups/preamps. In short, your Tobias Classic 6 is a historic example that marks the transition from Michael Tobias' original ownership to Gibson's, making it an interesting piece for collectors and enthusiasts.
  22. I wanted to hear the sound of the 5 strings, but they are all 6 strings
  23. I've shown this before. That's more the price, I reckon.
