  2. Thank you Inga...
  3. No Wals for £300 though?
  4. Difficult to tell. The OP referred to starting bass for sessions, but they're not new to bass as that might imply as their first post was nine or ten years ago with a Youtube video, second one in 2023, and this is their third post.
  5. I remember when all this was fields....
  6. I've never owned a Wal. I played one in Livewire in Cardiff in the 80's and it was lovely. Never really got around to buying one when you couldn't give them away and now I really cannot help thinking they are overvalued. But, I've been saying that since they were £1500, and this one is seen to be a bargain at £8K, so I'm probably wrong about that. When they were 'new' in the eighties I remember having a chat with my old bandmate Rob Crocker who was a luthier of some note (he's now sadly passed away). He was a contrarian, as are most luthiers of a certain age, but when I raved about the Wal I'd just played in Livewire (it was £800 brand new iirc), he remarked that he thought that was stupid money for what is, after all, a bolt on neck bass. He had an Alembic in his workshop at the time- which may have belonged to Ravi from Livewire, I'm not sure- and he went on and on about the woodwork and the electronics and how top notch it all was. I own a couple of Alembics now and they are completely amazing things, I could probably buy either of them with a bit of effort for less than the asking price of the Wal. I have no idea what I'm trying to say, apart from the idea that value really is in the eye of the beholder, and I've never understood why Wal - good as they are- is the ONLY bass guitar that really commands this sort of cash (as a brand that is, rather than becasue of having belonged to someone famous).
  7. Well, it is short scale. There is a new fretboard with extra frets on the old long scale neck giving you the smaller intervals between frets. And if that is someone's reason for liking a short scale then I guess that is a winner. But not for me - I would prefer the whole thing scaled down with 20 frets on a shorter neck with the associated reduction in weight. Maybe, even better, a 32" scale, with appropriate body, neck and weight reduction would have been nice.
  8. For sale is the Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 which has the AUX input as well. Great sounding pedal with amazing ability to sculp both the tone on the preamp side and the distortion on the drive side of the pedal. There is some very impressive sounds that can be had out of this pedal. The pedal comes with the original box and all the goodies that came with it. I bought this pedal 3-4 years ago but the sound is a bit too much for the bands I am in. I was always hoping to use it but it has literally sat in the box the whole time. I had thought I might use it also as an emergency DI for gigs but I have never needed it. Possible pedal trade options would be Origin Effects DCX or IE Frantabit. Possible other option would be towards Bergantino HDN/HD 112 or Mesa Subway 112 cab. If I was playing heavier music this pedal would absolutly be staying. £270, £250 including postage. Bank transfer or PayPal F&F.

  9. If you are only selling personal possessions under the value of £6k, there'll be no tax to pay. If over £6k, you may have to pay capital gains tax. Other than this, you'll only need to pay tax if you are selling for a profit - i.e. operating as a business. HMRC won't just tax you based on what eBay report to them, you'll need to complete a self-assessment and in pay income tax on the profit (I've grossly oversimplified this....). What eBay reporting you to HMRC does however, it puts you on their radar. If they do decide to investigate, and discover your £1,700 of sales was a couple of basses you no longer use - no problem. But, if you were for example, making custom plectrums and selling at a profit - then that income should have been declared. (Disclaimer... I am not an accountant and this is not tax advice)
  10. Thank you Hellzero, thats very cool. I've also emailed the folks at Banzai you suggested (technically I need straight splines rather than right angles) to see if they can maybe help.
  11. I bought a pedal from Ian. It arrived the next day in perfect condition. Very smooth transaction, thanks.
  12. that's the numbers i recall
  13. Don't know to be honest serial number: NB16171
  14. *Reduced to £420 posted* Bergantino Super Pre up for sale, boxed with instructions and power supply. I have used the pre In my band going in ears by placing it on a small table, rather than placing it on the floor. It therefore doesn't have any velcro attachments & is in an excellent condition. The only thing I had to do when I purchased it was update the firmware, there are also a few speaker profiles uploaded as well. The sound quality and build is excellent, just what you would expect from Jim Bergantino. Collection from Teesside is preferred, although happy to post out.

  15. Yes, I met Robin a few years ago when he was playing bass with his band in a local pub, I didn't know him at the time but I got chatting to him because I didn't recognise the bass he was playing, turned out it was one of his own custom builds, he gets some amazing reviews.
  16. 10433
  17. Would consider trade against a Jad Freer Capo but really I could do with the cash.
  18. Sounds are fully replaceable.
  19. Monster bargain!
  20. Were there any kinds of arrangements or just dixieland?
  21. So....what have we gained here? 😅
