Same as you, when I was working in the office I took lunch in with me, and a copy of Private Eye, so I didn't buy anything form a newsagent either. The I was WFH from the start of lockdown until I retired at the end of 2022. It saves companies money because they can get shot of their offices, and saves employees money because they no longer have to pay to commute. So that means more available money to spend in other ways than on petrol, and for companies the possibility of either better pay rises or other investment.

	Well put. My thoughts exactly.👍

As it's raining, I thought I'd look at speaker corners. I brought some from a supplier and they are thin and weedy. So thought I'd design some of my own. Also the front of the speaker is slightly different to the rear of the speaker and a different design would benefit here as the baffle is recessed. The back speaker corners are more traditional These are all 5mm thick and around 60mm x 60mm. Other sizes may be done if enough interest. Happy to print them out for free for a suitable donation to the North West Air Ambulance. I'll post pictures when they are on the speaker. Thanks Rob

Procell. If the clip is loose, it can be gently squeezed with a pair of pliers to make it tighter. -

Wow. A 15 year necro thread. That's a great Amp, an acquaintance had one of the Lynott (?) style ones. Awesome expensive and built like a bank vault -

I'd like a trace preamp but I already have a nice Ra300. Currently doing duty as a stereo keyboard amplifier, it doesn't seem to get desperately hot even when im giving it beans... -

Oh wow, not looked at this one in a long time....I'll have to dig through my hard drives but I'll try and find it! Very much so Not looked at this one in a very long time but I remember it being a real challenge to keep that groove going (and here's Tony Grey making it look easy...) -
Batteries should follow standards. But the production doesn't. Duracell used to have prismatic cells and therefore a slightly better capacity vs. volume. I do not know the exact situation at the moment. There's quite a lot of difference between a manufacturer and another: size, capacity, how the chemistry follows the load etc. I would like to say that Duracell is very good, Varta, Renata, Panasonic, and many other known brands very good. But as battery industry is about large numbers, any brand has a failure every now and then. No name brands from Aldi/Lidl/Coop/Ikea may be good, or not. They may use some good source, but as China is usually involved there, I don't want to use their products. Battery clips can be whatever. Sizes sure are not even close to standards, but up to manufacturers. Metal parts are usually quite soft, and contacts unreliable. Every time I change a battery, I check connections carefully.

Fender American Vintage 1958 Precision Bass. Serial number V1309879 - very good condition, a few scuffs/scratches/dings as to be expected. Three Tone Sunburst. Had this set up by a very experienced guitar luthier recently, so everything is as it should be, including new strings. Comes with all the case candy as shown in the picture, the case is in very good condition too, but there is no strap included. The first American Vintage series ran between 2012-2017. I bought this in roughly 2015. Selling as I've just got myself a custom shop!

This is the Dynacord Reference 3000 4x10 combo I still have it although I very rarely use it due to the weight but this was very high quality and expensive gear back in the 80's. -

Just remember that problematic rooms are a function of both time domain and frequency domain issues, and a frequency domain solution may only make it better at the point of measuring/listening and may well be making the problem worse elsewhere in the room. Often moving or changing the direction in which the PA points can have just as much effect as EQ. If you are going to use EQ make a point of standing in various different locations in the room to check the effects.

NBD! A modified OLP Tony Levin 5-string Ray-a-like!
tauzero replied to kwmlondon's topic in Bass Guitars
It's also not a standard scratchplate and the routing on the OLP bodies is just massive trenches (shame, a clear scratchplate would be nice otherwise) so the previous owner might just have decided to relocate the controls. Although I would associate a diamond layout more with a two-pickup bass. -

ESP LTD B208FM 8 string bass Basswood body with flame maple top in transparent black finish, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, dual humbuckers and active 3 band preamp. The bass is in great condition with a recent fret dress, setup, and a new set of D’Addario strings. It comes in a Gator ABS case which has taken damage to its corners and is cracked in places. It’s serviceable, but not something you would want to use day to day. Bass is located in SE19 Upper Norwood. Thanks for looking.
