  2. Hohner "Jack" basses come up on the marketplace here & other well known marketplace sites quite often.
  3. The silver sparkle looks cool with the mirror plate too, nice addition! Where did you get the maple neck from? I thought the silver only came with a rosewood board?
  4. Stingray Classic Bass in rare Lake Tahoe Blue which is very similar to Lake Placid Blue with birdseye maple fretboard and neck from 2011. The body is made of ash and it’s general condition is 9/10 for it’s age with a small mark on the front of the bass (see photos) and the usual swirls on the pickguard, weight is 4.6kg. Also comes with a standard Musicman hardcase. Price £1,850 including full insured shipping. Also happy for anyone to come around and play it in my studio in Coalisland. Sale available to people living in Northern Ireland and UK mainland only. I have also advertised the bass on Ebay and Reverb but at a higher price due to commisson if you prefer to purchase it that way.

  5. We've all seen how much things like 80's Wal & Alembic basses go for, they're more like the bass equivalents of the "Classic / Vintage" LP / Strat. There's also that immeasurable "desirability" side of things, like one of John Entwistle's basses or some other such "name" player from a famous band.
  6. I did the same thing and spent a few years going down a Rabbit hole of US then Mex Ps. Finally found a Nate Mendel that makes me as happy as the original CV. Only took a few years and several hundred £s You live and learn
  7. Vaseline is find for lubricating ear plugs. Its also what the NHS audiologist uses i noticed.
  8. I’ve shared a bill with Shout, a thoroughly wonderful band.
  9. Younger new players seem more interested in buying something that looks like what their favourite bass player plays, or something in a specific colour. Age isn’t even thought about. So is the vintage instrument collector becoming vintage too.
  10. Ah man, I would love a second. It's one of those things .... If you were half an hour away I'd really struggle to stop myself!
  11. Our gig on 27th is struggling for ticket sales (no surprise to me) but it seems that we’re still currently doing it. Also meant to be playing Hogmanay. We had someone lined up to play it with us (a singer songwriter from Dundee) but for reasons bets known to herself, she’s thrown a wobbly and kicked us into touch. This means we’re stuffed for the 31st if we can’t find another act to share the bill with - ‘kin divas!
  12. I have owned several UK and MIC Ashdown`s and they have all been reliable and if it does throw a sickie then they are the best at helping you sort out the issue. In general the MIC products from reputable well know company`s are fine.
  13. Similarly, think our gig tomorrow night will be off - singer's caught the flu
  14. The 'proper' power amp with transformer adds a fair bit of weight along with the larger case size. And yes, they are built pretty tough too. It's a pretty typical weight for a non class D amp.
  15. It’s bang on 3.6kgs so under 8lbs nice and light
  16. I would say so, if fretless metal is your thing.
  17. 62 RI going by the earthing strip & tuners. Nice.

  19. Just sold my Zoom B6 to Alain. Good communication, quick payment. Just confirms the previous positive feedback

    Hi guys

  21. Best was a P bass kit off ebay... been wanting to try a scratch build for ages, but wasn't confident enough to have a first go at finishing and fretwork on something that'd take a lot of effort to replace if I messed it up. Turned out way better than I thought it would.... Worst was running out of excuses not to do the next one from scratch
  22. Anderton’s has the Nano listed for £125, due Jan 2nd they say. Me, I’m not that much of a fuzzaholic to pay that much!
  23. Last gig of the year tomorrow night has been cancelled, but hopefully only postponed, as our guitarist is having health issues. Nothing now until January!
