I hope everyone keeps buying new bass gear from shops. Then I can continue to buy used when they race after the next purchase.

Nuns Of The Tundra in Frome tonight. Absolutely brilliant performance, solid desert metal riffs and a mountain of groove. I booked tickets as soon as it was announced and then my daughters band Butane Skies were booked to support and they went down really well.

No im still here! GAS still persists but all the boring stuff is robbing me blind.

The picture of the 1153T that you found online is probably a mark 5 or 6 cab, so at least ten years older than yours (or more). If they have carpeting they are from the late 1990s (my favourites), and as mentioned the riveted on logo started being a thing when manufacturing moved abroad. I haven't seen the carpeting AND the riveted logo before which makes me suspicious that this was one of the very last UK made cabs that was probably sold with the new logo between the beginning of the Gibson ('98) then Peavey ('05) eras. -
Here's cover I recorded of Chaka Khan's Move Me No Mountain, poignant for me as this was a week or so before AJ (a huge influence for me) passed away (may you rest in peace Maestro). For anyone interested, I've also posted a complete transcription here - https://www.benwalkerbass.com/p/move-me-no-mountain

Lovely bass! I was just hanging out with Mike Walsh (Zoot bass) recently. Amazing work this guy does, his attention to detail is second to none. I actually picked up a new Zoot bass from him, I'll post something on this soon... but good luck with the sale, I'm keeping my eye on this . Quick question, is the pickup position in the Stingray position or a Fender Jazz bass? BTW The flame on the back of this neck is fabulous!

How do these compare to the old Status replacement necks?

I stopped playing bass completely between about 2002-2005 after a really acrimonious parting with my band which just took all the enjoyment out of things. I was also quite bored and burnt out by it all. Focused on enjoying my guitar playing for a bit instead, eventually gigged a few times with a local band on guitar, and then that folded shortly before I moved city anyway. I wasn’t looking to play bass in a band but it was an easy way to get to know people in my new home city and I fell back into it eventually. Certainly that break for a few years gave me breathing space to get out of old habits and come back with a fresh pair of ears and some new ideas too.

joe_geezer started following I've quit facebook so that I spend more time here!

I joined facebook (about a year or 2 ago) and since have stopped posting here as facebook seems to have consolidated everything I use to do on the web in a single website! It's actually taken the fun out of posting and reading about bass guitars and bassists... It's just all superficial click bait & with little to know substance. I suddenly realised I was just scrolling through endless reels of 1 minute videos designed to grab my lizard brain attention. And the groups are just again, post a flashy pic of a fancy bass and lets all celebrate... zero discussion, good or bad 🙂↕️. So I have decided to quit facebook and just use bass forums and X. At least with X there's discussions but not so much about the bass guitar, so that's actually a good thing, it's an untapped market! Anyway, does anyone feel the same or am I just getting old. great to hear you thoughts 🙏

The plain 15 badge is same as my Kaman era one. I could be wrong but the 210 looks to last of line before Kaman. - Today

Alien Love Child - Live & Beyond. ALC was basically Eric Johnson being the guitarist in a band, rather than being the front guy and guitarist. Malford Milligan on vocals was superb in taking front stage, but Chris Maresh on bass steals the show for me. So much so that, 25 years or so ago, whilst doing the ironing and listening to this album, I decided to jump ship and play bass full time. Sure, the seeds had been sown in the ‘80s with Pino and I had dabbled with bass a bit, before going back to guitar, but it was Chris’ playing on this album that made me realise that bass was what I should be playing as my primary instrument.

I'm kind of hoping for this: having a sense of what I actually want to do on the instrument. I've been practicing technique pretty hard for the last 18 months. Its been great learning how to learn, but its not quite music is it... I've met a few dads with the same story!

My go-to in these types of threads is always the Pat Travers live album 'Go for What You Know'. The bass playing of Mars Cowling is nothing short of astounding - I'm still trying to nail some of his parts 46 years later! The rest of band aren't too shabby either, elevating what otherwise might be seen as pretty standard groove based blues rock! The 1972 Donny Hathaway Live album, featuring Willie Weeks on bass, is pretty good as well...
