  2. Sorry to report I have had a terrible accident. I accidentally drove to Camden tonight and bought a new gig bag. The old one was very tatty. Unfortunately the bass I had ordered to just try out, also accidentally left the shop in the bag after I accidentally paid for both of said items. A terrible state of affairs. I now have 4 basses! I am practically a hoarder now.
  3. Apart from playing Sultans in my younger days and their hits i've never really listened to much more but your post has me interested to hear more. Dave
  4. Stellar synthwave. Not to be confused with Stella Synthwave who works on the tills at Lidl.
  5. Would be good to hear an update on this after all the effort that was put in by quite a few on BC. Dave
  6. Now £395 GAS is a a terrible thing. So there I was all content after a really good year, then boom and 'must have ' bass punched a mighty hole in the budget. So, my two latest acquisitions need new homes. They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Here is my surf green SB-2. Without question a bass out on its own, spicy MFD pickups (with their trademark adjustable pole pieces), Twin volume control which on other SB-2s i have found to be really easy to dial in a volume/tone needed. That said the modder in me has purchased the dual concentric knobs ready for a stacked volume tone per pickup (like the early Jazz basses). I can throw those in. This hasnt been gigged (one jam session tho..) so is 10/10 perfect. Vinyl wrapped black plate (easily removed if needed..plain black underneath). I know i'll regret letting this go, they are going to be a cult classic imho. This was bought literally a week before G & L went out of business, so one of the last out the door. Fully set up with EB slinkies set on all fressh and ready to go. I can arrange shipping at buyers expense insured (or uninsured at buyers risk).

So, my two latest acquisitions need new homes. They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Check out my other listing for my SB-2 or take a look at this... NOW £450 Anywho. 3 TSB Jazz bass, the G & L version, spicier pickups than your average J type bass in this price range. Beautifully finished and in 10/10 condition. Vinyl wrapped plate easily removed . I have been after a nice example of this since seeing Ritchie Kotzens 'riot'. I finally pulled the trigger on this new one in the early summer and very pleased i am too or was until i fell for 'another' way more expensive J beast. As with the SB-2 i'd love to keep it but needs must. I love the bridges on these bad boys. Fully set up with fresh EB slinkies. Can ship at buyer expense, pickup from Rochester or exchange somewhere near to the M25.

  8. Bargain, these basses sound awesome
  9. I have been working on the Patitucci part for 'Spain' of the Akoustic Band record but I have abandoned it for now. It's just too hard. I went to this because it was the antithesis of 'Spain'. Jimmy Woode's bass part for 'The Star Crossed Lovers' from the Duke Ellington masterpiece 'Such Sweet Thunder'. All the notes are on mostly minims on the beat - easiest thing in the world to read - this one is simple note recognition of beginners. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-star-crossed-lovers-duke-ellington/
  10. Phil's right. If you're using subs, anything larger than 12s in top boxes is unnecessary.
  11. Bought some glasses from Craig and he wrapped them up and posted them to me in record time! Exactly as described and measured, so a perfect fit. Couldn't be better - Really appreciate it. Could probably do with another pair, so I'll keep my eyes peeled🤓. Thank you
  12. Wouldn't the best option be to get a new, fretted fingerboard - ebony, rosewood or similar - made for it?
  13. Sensible approach. With new/class D amps, it's wise to go for something that uses proven components. I bought an Aguilar partially (I liked how it sounded, too) because they use ICEPower modules, which are readily available if something goes wrong. ICEPower, Hypex and similar are reputable components that can at least be replaced if repair is not possible.
  14. Ian kindly sold me his Mesa WD-800. Great comms and great to deal with..... great packaging and boxing-up too! Highly recommended.
  15. Rob bought a Reidmar 750 from me in a very generous transaction. Great comms and excellent to deal with..... Top man!
  16. Baby baby - Amy Grant
  17. That’s the one I was referring to, yes. Can’t guarantee it’s what you need, but I’ve used plenty of it in the past. Do some research into how to get a good even coverage - I use a sponge applicator when working on leather.
  18. Is this what I need Steve!?

  20. I bought Paul's EBS Reidmar 752, and it arrived very well packed, in great shape. Great to deal with, deal with confidence. Thanks, Rob
  21. Little Child - Beatles
  22. Flight Of Icarus - Iron Maiden
  23. £3600
  24. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
  25. The Three10 is a thing to behold, glad you're finally getting your hands on one. Out of interest, when did you order it? I spoke to our guitarist last night, and the cab he ordered on 30th September last year is finally in testing and will be delivered next week.
  26. There's the Stingray Studio Series coming later this year too - Indonesian-made but with US hardware and electronics and supposedly coming in at just over a grand in Murcan freedom money.
