When I were a lad I had an album of covers called, "We do 'em our way". That had the Sub's version of 'She's Not There' on it, as well as 'Friday on my Mind' by a band called The Golant Pistols, of particular interest to me as Golant was a local village. Turns out they were the house band (of sorts) at Sawmill Studios featuring the late great Al Hodge. But the stand out for me was The Slits' version of 'Heard it Through the Grapevine'. A fantastic funked up version that maybe doesn't beat the original, but gives it a run for its money.

I’m selling my pedals. All in great condition, all working fine although I don’t have the boxes for any of them and I don’t have power supplies for them (they all take standard 9v centre-negative PSUs). We have; EHX Oceans 11 (reverb) T Rex Replay (delay) EHX Soul Food (drive) Zoom A1four (acoustic multi FX) Morley Distortion Wah (combined wah and distortion) Price above is for the job lot collected from sunny Cleethorpes. If you want them posted please add another tenner. PLEASE NOTE: I’d really prefer to sell the whole lot in one go so at this stage I’ll see whether there’s any takers for the bundle before I offer to sell them individually. Thanks for looking, please PM with any questions

Accugroove Tri 112L ***PRICE DROP - NOW £400***

Ah thanks so much for this! It’s pretty hard to get the word out about these cans all right. They’re pretty special. I’ve used mine with a Glockenklang Bass Art or a Glockenklang Blue Sky. They’re killer speakers. So balanced and articulate. They’re especially good for double bass. I mean I just think double bass is so hard to amplify. Most of the so called acoustic set-ups out there are pretty horrendous. I really loved the Bass Art and Accugroove set-up. Just have had to scale down. Having to use public transport a lot with double bass and amp these days so having the accurgroove and head bass heads is not working out. Thanks for your review of the Accugroove here anyway! Might help entice someone to buy. -

Will do, am waiting on some oval mother of pearl crown neck stickers from US to make it look more like a "regular" Euro 4 (and the earlier IH edition from c.15 years ago). Plays beautifully and sounds nice and punchy. Also the blemishes are virtually invisible on the gloss black, thankfully. To all intents and purposes, anyone from a foot or two away would think its brand new/mint -

I did buy it. I paid several hundred less than the one on Andy Baxter's site after our haggling. Think Tony I is just a bit rubbish at updating Gumtree advert (it said "weeks old" when he first listed it last year, when he had not long bought it from BassDirect ... given how many adverts he has, I think he just hits refresh when an ad expires!) I had a good experience PS, mine weighs 8 pounds 2.5 ounces, so almost identical weight to Andy Baxter's (1 pound more) -
I've dealt with this company and it was a straightforward and hassle free experience - I think chances are good they'll sort out some kind of deposit / part-ex.

For some reason I love that it has EIGHT tremolo springs. Because of course it does. -

Hi all Tricky one to price this so feel free to message if you think I’m wildly wrong in either direction. It’s a wicked P bass that I’ve had for quite a while, fully Japanese early 90s (Fujigen) made. Weighs in at only 3.6kg. The neck is from a PB-62US, with the big reverse tuners, dark rosewood board and 60s logo. There’s a bit of a flame to the maple on certain lights. 44mm nut. The body is from a Squier Silver Series Precision Bass SPB33 (stamped in the neck pocket). These are great basses which I have another of. I believe electronics and pickup are original, the tone control is great, lots of options across the range rather than just on/off that you often get. Condition: Body, pretty worn and some chips to the finish, you can see some lines where the 3pc body joins together in certain lights. It’s looks great and has a nice genuine ‘relic’ vibe to it. The pickup poles and screws have a bit of rust on them but nothing that affects the sound Neck: Probably better condition than the body, lots of minor dents and dings but fair condition for a 30+ year old neck. The PB62US P Basses go for £1000+ and the silver series squiers look to be around £500 so I’m starting this at £650 but open to offers - a chance to get a great workhorse P bass with a high end Japanese neck for much cheaper than you otherwise would. Any questions, give me a shout. Shipping possible but collection preferred from Chessington or Central London. Thanks Dan

I'd try experimenting with the pre amp and see if you can shape the sound to your liking, before fitting new pickups.
