Mine are just absolute staple basses now. 3 or 4 tracks on the album and they’re going out live from July Onwards. very, very happy with them.

Its not about the fee, its about the underhanded marketing. eBay provide a service so should be compensated, no arguement there. But doing it in such a way to hide their fees is my gripe.

Being Gig Fit (Like Match Fit in football)
tauzero replied to Chienmortbb's topic in General Discussion
I do no exercise because I'm lazy. I do do a bit of practice. The day after a gig, I used to feel as if somebody had been giving me a going over with a baseball bat. I changed to lightweight gear, including the PA - no single item weighs more than 10kg except for my monstrously heavy 11.5kg 2x12 cab. Plus the other band members give me more of a hand lugging gear than in previous bands. As a result, I feel fine the next day. -

Bassline needed: Lose it by Ben L'oncle
Burns-bass replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
As long as you play the right notes the scale doesn’t matter! -
Just put another P together with a roasted Jazz neck . Same woods as my others but for for some reason this resonates and punches fantastically 👌 Fenders "artic white" body... Yet it's like a cream colour 🤷.

OTOH, I've just bought a bass from a bricks and mortar auction house. Seller's premium about 25%, buyer's premium about 25%. So if I bid £800 for a bass, there's £200 buyer's premium added so I pay £1k, and £200 seller's premium taken off the £800, leaving £600 for the seller. That's a rather bigger gap than the gap between £600 and £618.75 or £800 and £822.75.

Then you're happy, and many many other people are also happy. Everybody's happy. I don't know what you've complaining about.

I'm always open to learning so appreciate the suggestion. When I get to my bass later I'll try what you said. The last thing I want to do is confuse things 👍

I have my eye on something else, so this Soloking is for sale on the one-in, one-out protocol! Purchased in the Andertons blowout sale and basically as new. Just a few hours of bedroom play, never gigged. No notable damage that I can see. I changed the strings, lowered the action slightly and oiled the fretboard. Pickguard is still covered. As you can see I still have the Andertons box + inner box so it can be couriered. Happy to send via Parcelforce with their standard cover - buyer pays actual shipping, which should be under £20. Or you can sort out your own courier. £100 is firm payable in cash or bank transfer (no Paypal). I paid £150 new in the blowout sale so I think 2/3 is fair. Absolutely stonking bass for the money.

MarkBass Superbooster pedal in very good condition. It combines a clean boost (it's called 'boost' but it can be used to set a lower level rather than a boost when you press the footswitch), plus the classic controls from the Little Mark amps: Vintage Loudspeaker Emulation (VLE) and Variable Pre-shape Filter (VPF). The VLE acts much like a LPF, and the VPF is a bit like the contour control on many amps, that scoops the mids while boosting lows and highs. It's also a DI box. Underneath it has a little switch to select whether the bypass is buffered or 'true bypass'. Original MarkBass 12V power supply included. Despite running on 12V, I can confirm it runs well at 9V. I used to run it off a Voodoo Labs 9V multipower supply. It does feel like there's more headroom at 12V but I found the difference not worth using a separate power supply for it. Price includes delivery in the UK (1st class, signed-for). Here's the blurb from MarkBass: https://www.markbass.it/product/super-booster/ And the pedal itself...

That pickup is £300+ worth. Go for it, but factor in a new bridge and probably a decent set of strings down the line ( another £250 ) It won't get you in the LSO but decent to learn on. Nb: my own bass (£10k worth of antique German timber) has a fingerboard bevel. You don't need it but it's pretty harmless and I've never needed to get it altered - they were for bowing with floppy gut strings.
