You do have to think of this as a complete system problem, so the string will change things, as do the machine heads. One other thing that I have heard and I think it improved things, was to loosen the neck boys while tuned to pitch. This force the me as far into the neck pocket as it can go. Tighten the screws while still under tension. The other issue is shims, I have no evidence but the charge in contact area suggests a change in resonance. The other thing Fender found was that 2x2 headstocks work better than 4 in a line re dead spots. My Sire M2 has no obvious dead spot. The neck bolts are also staggered, is that crucial? The most suspicious thing is the short timeframe between the bass going AWOL and it being put up for auction. I wonder if the auction house works with Porcel Farce directly of if there's a 3rd party buying unclaimed/lost goods?

Bit late to the party but, the EMG X series offer all of the benefits of any EMG active, but offer the "less hifi"you request vs the non-X series. That said, just using the passive tone control on a set of EMG non-X actives can do the same. Though the X seires do 'feel' a little different due to their additional headroom.

Then there's the whole question of "H", "HH", "HS" p/u configuration..

There is absolutely no way that a bass guitar gets accidentally delivered to an auction house and then that auction house proceeds to list it for sale. "Oooh, look! Something got accidentally delivered. Let's list it." The whole thing stinks. I'll speculate that someone at the auction house is a fence and uses the business to move on their stolen goods that come in from a network of theives that include contacts in courier companies. The reluctance to cooperate might point towards this incident being just the tip of a large iceberg. If it's gone back into the Parcelforce system it will have a new tracking number, shouldn't it?

Awww! Yes! I remember my Powersoft! What an absolutely beast of an amplifer! Highly recommended - though, they do require a deep rack case rather than the shallow versions. I think mine was about 1K a side, which is just bonkers. but fun.

..so easily triggered ..chilax dude.... if you bothered to peer through the red mist it did mention glue,...it was so obviously ai (a little bird) lol, only an idiot would possibly think otherwise but the question of whether the grooves are cut fret ready of just lines is a valid one ..ps ..my two s2 basses i had made over covid, i definitely got the impression my lined one could be easily fretted from my conversations i had while they were being made...but your mileage might vary.
