QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs

I’m a bit surprised. There’s nothing about either bass that would make them over massively bassy. P-basses are pretty much the standard bass in terms of tone. You might find this review of the hybrid useful to compare to what you were hearing in the shop. Could it have been an amp setting thing or just not being used to hearing bass outside of a mix? Your recording doesn’t sound that different from a proper bass tone - and remember EQ settings will be important both on a bass amp or on a recording. I reckon that either bass would probably work really well and give you a great sound. I do like the Japanese basses - really good quality, especially for the price. I don’t know the other one. The difference that does it might just be which ever one feels right to you - personally I suspect the Hybrid’s neck might be a bit too chunky for me but others might love it.

Check out this carbon necked fretless Arpege https://www.ferremusique.com/basse-electrique/13092-arpege-fretless-carbon-1987-etui.html I wouldn't mind it, if it was closer and cheaper!

They were very shortlived (2 years end the 1990's) and were quickly shelved because they were EXTREMELY high quality instruments. Better than Fender was churning out in Mexico. Also, what you see is the only iteration there was: translucent red with gold hardware. No other colours.

As far as I'm aware, there's no way of doing it now.

^ no rules, but i'd go for Correct for the headstock, so a LH Decal Just lacquered over, couple or three of light mistings of clear gloss... One thing worth mentioning is how flat 16" the HB neck is... have you thought about a fretlrss neck? -

I wandered in to Steve's Guitar Centre (Cosham, nr. Portsmouth), spotted an EBS Reidmar 250 amp in a corner, had a play, now it's home with me. Nice!

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
Lozz196 replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Just got in from a rehearsal with Knock Off. Went well as usual but the highlight for me was the Hartke HA3500 410 combo with their VX speakers, combined with my JMJ Mustang and Behringer BDI21 the sound was awesome. I know some people aren’t that keen on Hartke gear but this amp was just great. -
Thanks guys (except Steve). The baritone is too guitarish. I thought to get the PB70 with Piccolo strings. I asked the AI what frequencies it covers, it says between 60 to 600 hz. Which is pretty neat. I thought about shortscale but I have long fingers — something I should cherish! And I'll get a better sustain with the long scale which is important to me.

What are you listening to right now?

Songhoy Blues, Music in Exile. Something about this band that I really like. -
Would they fit with a Hipshot tuner? My A string could do with some help!

Anyone got tips about getting a decent sound when playing along to songs? I put my double bass & electric bass clips on my Instagram channel, but I record video on my iPhone with the song playing through a speaker and my bass playing through an amp, so I pick up extra fretboard and string noise (I know this is less than perfect technique causing extra noise). I've got an iMac and GarageBand, but I don't know how to get a clean digital sound through that to mix with the backing song and the video footage. Would I have to use iMovie to put the three things together? Thanks

Thanks Pete, The crazy thing is that it plays & sounds at least ‘as good’ as a custom jobbie Rob made for me around ten years ago at over five times the price! & being very ‘Old School’ - I actually prefer the dry woody sound of this one + wang the bridge pickup wide open & we’re in Jaco territory - the sound that is, definitely not my playing😂😂🙈🙈👍…
