  4. Complete fluke, the complete bass part to 'Fato Consumado' from the 1976 Djavan album, 'A Voz, O Violão, A Música De Djavan'. The bass player is Arthur Maia's uncle, Luizão Maia. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/fato-consumado-djavan/
  5. Love the 734. It does a real good p and a real nice stingray/jazz bite if needed too. Nice and easy to play.
  6. Here's the new video to mark 50 years of Greg Lake's "I Believe In Father Christmas"
  7. The latest update from Gary at Upton Bass. I’m liking what I’m hearing from the additional sound holes 🤔 Here

  10. We’ve gone with a couple of ambient mics, with a gate side chained off my bass channel, as I am probably the only band member playing every note on every song. Only tried it once and it works well. I do need to raise the gain on the ambients a little but these coupled with the general pick up from the vocal mics works for us.
  11. +1 for Surgical Spirit. I slather it on before playing, it really helps. Or there's this http://doublebassfingertape.com/ I bought some but have yet to use it!
  12. possibly, what have you got?
  13. Same here Greg. Take care and keep let us know how you're doing thru the recovery process. Dave
  14. Behind the Wall of Sleep - Black Sabbath
  15. Rubber doorstops, they come in a variety of sizes (Google tells me 20mm to 76mm height). Screw the grille into the frame as per @Phil Starr then some door stops near the middle, black washers and bolts and T nut them in. The advantage of these is that you can position them to kill any unwanted vibrations in addition to improving the kick resistance. Strangely in 55+ years of gigging this has never happened, I must be playing the wrong gigs. Plenty of impacts with doors, furniture, car parts and other kit though.
  16. My old band did a proggy version of carol of the bells a while back. I hope this is ok to post. It’s the 1st song here: https://heightsuk.bandcamp.com/album/rarities
  17. Good to hear the Yamaha bass was positive feedback. I've never had a Yamaha bass but i love the tone from them especially the older BB2000 or 3000 versions if i remember right. Dave

  19. Excellent deal with Luke with a Bassrig 64. Great comms, bomb proof packaging. Deal with confidence. Thanks Luke 👍
  20. Agree with all the comments above; sad news, especially at Christmas time. RIP 😞 And condolences to his family. IMO, he was very much one of the people, if that's not too trite a thing to say. We used to do this one in our set, which I always enjoyed...
  21. Well it would seem I've answered my own question... I ordered a Precision today - the American Professional Classic in faded Sherwood Green Metallic. There's been one in the Gallery in Camden that I've looked at several times, and today I pulled the trigger, so it'll be here in a few days - probably after Xmas. I went for the new model, as [from what I've heard] the new 'Coastline' pickup (apparently derived from the 'Pure Vintage' series pickups) sounds very warm at the bottom, but has clear highs without the nasty nasal honk. Basically quite similar sounding to my previous Am.Professional I. We'll see how it plays after I've set it up...
  22. My stack-knob Jazz is definitely bright compared to my Precisions, but I enjoy the contrast.
  23. Yes, these later models have a quad coil pickup, but they don't have individual wires for each coil, you can only operate them in pairs. The stock switch does this: And the middle setting (parallel) blows IMO, hence the impending mod.
  24. Good working condition, has signs of use - it’s an early serial number I think. Overall great sounding pedal and my favourite from Darkglass lineup Will post with Royal Mail Tracking 24.
