There's also the American side of 80s music - glam/hair metal, swingbeat, early rap, all that kind of thing, as well as all the stuff that was big on the eastern side of the pond. Regarding the image, yes, I agree - there was a lot of enormous hair, bad fashion and inappropriate makeup back then, and their photo spreads in the likes of Smash Hits and Look-In sold as many records as their music did. But the surviving bands from that era who are still out there playing their stuff are now the same old blokes as those who would be playing that stuff in cover bands, just with a larger costume budget. Duran Duran are all in their mid-60s now, with their audience not too far behind, and they're still selling out tours!

That’s EXACTLY the challenge, showing what the amp is capable of for the average real world player. The videos are very real world, Gus is a great player in multiple genres and has extensive experience with the new amp. He snuck it out on one of his tours, stealthy like, and there were no issues or problems over numerous shows. I worked with Doug Johns, a great slap player (and a lot more than that) while at Genz Benz. Well worth checking out, imo.

I live in Horsham, I saw the kid a couple of years ago and he’s pretty handy! Don’t know who he is but very unusual (and pleasant) to see a bass only busker 😊.x

I heard a person playing some epic slap bass in Horsham yesterday afternoon but I was in a rush to get to an appointment so couldn't stop to watch. By the time I got back they had packed up and gone. A rare thing to encounter a busking bassist, especially of that calibre. Has anyone come across this particularly gifted busker before and knows who they are? RE the fingerboard coating, we're going to use Osmo Polyx https://osmouk.com/product/polyx-oil-original/ Very easy to apply, and a nice middle ground between a full resin and a natural oil. @Andyjr1515 I just read about your experience using this stuff on a guitar body and I note your reservations - do you think it'll be suitable for a fingerboard - I don't mind having to reapply occasionally, and I'm not expecting it to be quite as glass-like as poly.
