  2. Hi My daughter is interested in your tenor banjo. Would you be around on weds evening (probably between 5 and 6 ish) as I'll be driving up the M4 near you? Also is £120 the best price? Cheers Steve
  3. Two things I really like from last nights episode were for one the appreciation from bassists re those who can do lead vocals when on bass, and secondly the comments from MADM about how much she enjoyed her role in a band when she didn’t have to do any vocals and could just play bass. I really get that, just sitting back and providing the groove/foundations for the song.
  4. Immaculate Barefaced SuperMini (silver cloth grill) with Barefaced padded cover. Less than a year old. I have two but just don’t need them both. In fact, have only used both together for one gig, hence moving this one on. This is the version without a tweeter. It’s incredibly small and light, sounds absolutely fantastic and goes loud. Tech specs are. Height: 17.5”. Width: 16.5”. Depth: 11”. Weight: 8.5kg (with cloth grill). Max amp power: 600w. Max output: 127db. Impedance: 8ohm. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. Collection is also possible, I live approximately 15 minutes from junctions 14 and 15 of the M1. Photos on the way once I’ve taken them.
  5. We're in the same spot. Having to look out new venues for 2026. Clubs especially are finding it difficult selling tickets and turning a profit. What we don't want is playing the same venues too often as people get fed up seeing the same bands too often. We're also considering venues South of the border which are relatively easy reach for me. I'm 1 hr from Carlisle on M74. Newcastle also an option we're looking at. We had a few venues contact us last year from as far down as Brighton but the distances just weren't justified for one gig unless we charged silly money to include accomodation. Dave
  6. As ever, your photos are perfectly good. GLWTS!
  7. Agreed Mick, Whilst the SMX series added some useful bells and whistles such as compression and a blendable valve/solid state preamp, the Series 6 has a certain immediate clarity with clout never bettered by Trace Elliot.
  8. Hi Oli Yep it’s still available. Cheers Laurence
  9. Cheers Dave, you’re right, sometimes people are not up for it. We’re having a bit of a cull on venues for next year and looking at some new ones which keeps it interesting.
  10. I remember the Art of Drumming series featured more than just rock drummers and was really interesting. Although I am glad it's been made, I think the heavy bias towards rock a bit unimaginative.

  12. Seriously, I have basses with all levels of jack socket. My experience is that when the single spring returns to that position, it's got many years of useful life in it. I have instruments from the 60s, 70s and 80s with original sockets tgat look just like that. But yes I've seen that type fail and become noisy/intermittent, always a poorly tempered spring that takes a set and doesn’t return to its proper position. My experience suggests it usually happens fairly soon in the life of the instrument.. I happily accept there are good and bad quality examples, and visually they are virtually indistinguishable. YMMV, of course.
  13. I’m up against mr travis and his all-consuming GEAR maw no chance, I see that bass being dragged to a Manchester address, probably leaving scratch marks on the pavement as it is sucked in like some poor dachshund caught in a wizard of Oz style tornado Briefly. 😛 I Wish I could buy this. GLWTS
  14. Ideal Xmas pressie to myself... No...no...I can't!!
  15. Today
  16. Damn this sounds good with my maple/rounds P; I may just try to find a way to keep it.
  17. Ashdown...best customer service in the industry... I really must send mine down to be serviced...
  18. IMO the series 6 is Trace Elliot at its best...gear didn't get better it just got lighter.

  21. Nord Electro 4D 61 Keyboard Weighted Waterfall SW61 Superb Nord Electro keyboard - this has all the classic acoustic and electro mechanical keyboards you could wish for for live and studio performances. Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, acoustic grands and uprights Hammond, Farfisa and Vox organs. It even has Mellotron and Chamberlain samples, plus strings, harps and guitars. This version also has drawbar control. It’s a classic in its own right but still updateable using the Nord site and sample library. Included is the keyboard, user manual, mains lead, damper pedal, sample library on CD plus a nice heavily padded gig-bag. I have added a custom ‘half moon’ switch to control the rotary speaker simulation from the keyboard rather than using a foot switch like an old Hammond. If you collect in person I’ll also include a stand. The price is non-negotiable and sorry no trades. It is feasible to post but only in the UK and at your cost and risk. See pics - I’ve not gigged it but have used it in rehearsals occasionally. To be honest it’s been used at home as a piano and the other wonderful sounds have been wasted! Selling as I use my old Korg live as I’m not worried about it being knocked about and I’m going to buy a simple piano for home use.
