  3. That’ll be my evening playing Cure songs and then it’ll never get sold 🙄
  4. Mainly as the doubling, so maybe lightly into flange territory. I’m thinking I’m probably going to sell it and try the El Capistan or the Chroma Console. But I’ve never heard a modulation pedal as capable as the subtle doubling/thickening this does. Almost a faux stereo space, just adds a bit of air. The subtly would be wholly lost live but this board is all about subtle variations on a theme to keep playing along to tracks interesting.
  5. I really want to keep this but have a few projects at home that need attention so looking to shed a few bits. Wicked pedal with knight fall, tarkin and T65 Octaver. All with individual clean blends, plus a master blend, and a master on/off switch. Effects stack in parallel for an absolute wall of awesomeness. Controls are really intuitive and easy to navigate. Velcro on underside, really wicked artwork. It's a wonderful pedal. I'll wrap box and post carefully. Any questions please shout. Selling cheaper than purchased, price includes postage second class. Can meet between Kettering, Bedford, Stevenage, Farnham areas of UK, or pass to my singer in north London... Drummer west London.... Blurb from cog website: Hellraiser" Custom Bass Multi-Effects Grand Tarkin Bass Fuzz, Knightfall Distortion and T-65 Octave all in parallel. Four level controls for mixing Dry signal, with only one ever active depending on which combination of effects are selected. This is very much an expansion on the concept of the T-65 Octave and parallel sub octave in general. Artwork is an adaptation of the Puzzle Box from the 1987 film Hellraiser, with oversized Moog-style knobs to finish things off.

  6. Fantastic Jazz Bass from Mayones. It is upgraded with Seymour Duncan pickups and a Sadowsky preamp. Original 2 band Mayones preamp is included. It weighs something around 4.3 kg. Balances perfectly. Action can go as low as you want without buzz. Fantastic professional grade jazz bass. I am located in Netherlands. Can ship within EU. I had many deals on this forum without issues.

  7. You can also get good punchy electric tone out of a U-Bass if you really go for it with the right hand. This took a bit of practice…
  8. The deco feels like the perfect ‘The Cure’ pedal!
  9. It looks a lovely bass!
  10. I had a quick look at the pics on the link (Nedcom.NL) and now, whenever I close down the web browser, I have the pics on my screen ! I can close the pic, but it re-appears next time I open and close the browser. Any ideas?
  11. Ok so, covers band world here. Playing the usual mix of pubs and clubs and have always gone home with cash in my pocket for the night. But now it really seems to have swung to online payment. I can understand that many of the establishments take payments for booze etc via card and phone so there's less cash on the premises, but for and old skool oldie like me, it sucks. As an example, we played a pub last Saturday (which I think is Greene King) and they informed us that we'd be payed online via whatever app it is that we are signed up to already. What bugs me is they quote payment for ten days after the event.. which is an arse pain BUT.. if you don't want to wait you can forego 2.5% of your fee for immediate payment.. even ruder! We play a few of this chain's pubs so it's becoming more of a regular occurrence for us. So do you dump 2.5% (not much but it's the principle)? Also you either need a trustworthy designated banker (chortle) or a group bank account, the management of which is an arse pain too. I don't like the way this modern world is going. Guess I'm very out of date now. 😔 Moan over. 😁
  12. Did he actually hear it? I was gobsmacked the first time I heard the double bass noises coming out of a tiny uke bass. Not sure what I thought I thought it was going to sound like, but certainly not that!
  13. They do say, "Get a hat and get ahead", or in your case, "a head". 😊
  14. An other option is one of the shorter-scale acoustic basses. I’ve replaced my U bass with a Taylor mini-bass. Light as a feather. Other, cheaper, options are available. Ibanez, Harley Benton are two that come to mind. I’ve found that with a feedback-buster in the sound hole it can sound great through either a rig or PA. Lighter technique with the right hand and a bit of EQ experimenting helps a lot.
  15. Just got one of these, fantastic little thing which is now my go to practice amp. It's the older version with the laptop DC power supply at 20v/3.25A/65w. I have a 20,000mah power bank which is fine for this power/current draw and have ordered a USB cable with the correct barrel tip, will this work ok or will everything explode and leave me in tears? If it is a terible idea then what would be a suitable alternative for mains free use? Thanks in advance!
  16. Love the look of this!
  17. A bit of trivia and possible provenance, if I'm right. I think I know this bass pretty well. The George Radcliffe named in the MECAA card was a serious trombone player but doubled on bass. He was the bass player for a band called Five Penny Piece - a sort of Lancashire folk and comedy act with some big gigs and several albums (national TV etc.). George was also the landlord of the Star pub in Ashton-under-Lyne - the best pint of Boddington's bitter available anywhere in my opinion. The quality of the beer was largely down to George's son, the cellarman and another 'bone player, who I think inherited this bass, along with George's Jazz. As far as I know, the son was recently made redundant so not unreasonable that this bass should appear now. With a mate, I took both of the basses to be set-up by Ted Lee (luthier to the stars and painted Manzanera's Firebird red I believe) in the very early '80s when George was still very active. I shall make further enquiries with the son. Anyway, that passed a few minutes.
  18. Do it anyway 😉
  19. Untrue! I offered £495.
  20. These basses look interesting. Would have liked to have heard more of what they sound like and UK prices, delivery times, etc. Good luck to you.
  21. That's works with me, I'll send you a PM with the details.
  22. to be fair to him, if you were selling an old instrument you didn't know a lot about at a reasonable price you might not want to promise everything is kosher if you didn't know. Also you know there will have been at least 3 idiots sending him messages like "oh I don't think X Y and Z is right, it's a bitsa mess of parts, I'll give you £500 for it?"
  23. I love the look of those Boss boards. Such a good design and in a world of Schmidt Arrays it's just good simple engineering. Are you using the deco as a chorus/flanger or as a drive?
  24. I had a bilateral hernia op 28/3. I’m 70 but fit….recovery is more like 12 weeks in my case. One of the mesh implants failed so I’m having to do it again so am thinking of getting an acoustic bass as my G&L weighs a ton. I tried a U-bass but didn’t like it, particularly the strings. I don’t currently gig but thinking of getting an acoustic bass but hate the sound of them…..they all seem so boxy or have hellish action(it’s hopefully a temporary situation so can’t spend much).
