Barefaced Three10 Teaser: Anybody Know More?
Chris Horton replied to Obrienp's topic in Amps and Cabs
I’m really interested in the three 10 cab. I am predominantly a 5 string player. how do you three 10 cab users find the cab copes with the low B string? -
I think I'm going to make it through the whole year! Wow!
-
Two, first off a BC Rich Warlock (Platinum series) and secondly, a Crafter electro-acoustic. The headstock dive of the Warlock was absolutely detrimental to my ability to play (I was pretty rubbish back then so any loss of capability was very much felt), and the Crafter, well, it turns out the chunky bodies of acoustics don't suit me, and neither do phosphor bronze strings. 2008 was a bad year for me, bass purchase-wise.

I need more filth. Ive replaced a bassist who played a Rickenbacker and Marshall Superbass with a very Lemmy-ish tone. Im using a Spector with an Ashdown ABM and a Two Notes Revolt preamp. Im never going to match the Rick/Marshall tone and the band aren't expecting that but I want more filthy drive on my tone. Are pedals the way to go? Or will they just sound a bit thin compared to a big valve amp?

Trace Elliot V6 for sale, £750.00 now £700.00

I think he usually works in large auditoria where sub placement is generally in the middle. All the YouTube live sound influencers talk about splitting the room in two then placing each speaker in the centre of each side. That obviates the need to use too much toe in. You do need to be careful with the dispersion angles. I have some passive speakers with 60 x 60 and in many cases that would not be enough to cover the room.

JGSpector started following Gallien-Krueger rack mount protective bars and Immaculate Behringer NX3000 power amplifier

Used a total of 3 times to power 4 passive speakers for rehearsals whilst my bands powered PA speakers were away being repaired. In immaculate condition and in good working order. Nice clean sound and goes very loud. Power ratings. Stereo mode (per channel). 8ohm: 440 watts. 4ohm: 900 watts. 2ohm: 1500 watts. Bridged. 8ohm: 1500 watts. 4ohm: 3000 watts. Mono. Same as stereo but only uses channel A input and splits the signal between channels A and B. I’ve got a horrible feeling my wife recycled the box but if I can’t find it I’ll ship in excessive bubble wrap and/or in a gig bag or similar. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

Fields of the Nephilim in Manchester on the 26th (October, that is). Met up with my own band's singer whilst there, when the mosh pit started up, she went towards it, and I backed away. I am not into that kind of thing.

I found these in my parts box over the weekend. A set of knob protecting bars for a Gallien-Krueger amp. I haven’t owned a GK amp for some time but they would have come off of either a 1001RB II or a 700RB III as I owned both. The bars are complete with all parts including screws. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

greentext started following Ibanez BTB uncomfortable to play?
-
I've owned my BTB for over 10 years, used it primarily for the extra scale length as it gives you a reallly nice low B, they can be a little bit weighty and over sized but they sound great and play great. I play really hard and when i use a pick having the extra tension really tighten everything up nicely. Also used it a lot for metal and lower tuned stuff. They are also built like tanks mine has been thrown about stages, jumped on, dropped its insane what they can take but dont recommend it ahaha.

I bought an EBS BassIQ envelope filter from James and comms were great, swifty shipment, and pedal in great conditions, just as described on the post. Thanks James!

Those albums with great bass performances that have gone un-noticed… ”God Shuffled His Feet” by Crash Test Dummies. Yes, maybe you can’t stand “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm”, but Dan Roberts playing on this is album sublime - mostly fretless from what I can hear, high in the mix, and very tasteful indeed. Give it a listen. Carry on…. 😎

Essentially new EHX 360 Nano Looper with power supply and original box. I bought this for a specific project earlier this year. That project is now finished so I have no need for this pedal. It’s had less than 10 hours use in a studio environment. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

Trace Elliot - Rescue & Restore (and bargain finds)

Holy Mother of Overkill. -
It's still up with no signs of movement but I am careful with it, keeping the load bearing parts nearest the wall fixings and having the acoustic guitar on there which weighs very little.
-
I have an old, surplus-to-requirement, 15" McKenzie speaker. I'm guessing it's from the 1980's or early 1990's, and it's rated at 200w and of 8ohms impedance. The chassis is cast alloy. It will be posted in a proper speaker carton, but if you want to collect I'll knock off the price of the postage and include a cup of tea. £40 posted. Thanks, Jackroadkill

Vocal Microphones, what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use
This will be interesting but probably warrants a separate thread. Large diaphragm condenser mics are not usually used live though. -
Immaculate Yamaha MG10XU mixer with mounting bracket for attaching to mic stand (see photo). Barely used and in good working order. Original box. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

Photo is blurry, but I think that's how they look. The center section is higher. It IS Jazz Bass width inside indeed. Casing is loose on the sides. I know 'cause I have disassembled them to lower them (pole pieces were sticking out like 3mm).

Oh I see now!!!

I haven't been bumping the BB1025X that I have for sale on here as if it doesn't sell by the time the Christmas holidays come, I plan to take it apart, clean it up and change all of the pots and jack and gig it every so often. I've owned a few Yamahas and they were all great basses. I'd still love to find a BB5000/BB5000a in original condition. I keep looking at the one at Bass Bros but the changed pickup puts me off

I love a renovation project! Might just be the camera angle, but the remaining pickup looks like a standard jazz size, whereas the cavities look slim soapbar-sized. What’s going on there?
