Yeah though I worked out that they (audio) weren’t nesserially cheaper if you get tagged for customs on the Tayda ones
  3. Hello, Very cool little Boss modeller for sale. Sounds great but I'm just not a modelling guy, I'm admitting defeat. Boxed, also comes with additional Bright Onion switch. £350 delivered please. Would consider trades for bass gear - amps, basses (J flavoured), whatever... In good condition, a few scratches on the bottom as pictured. Album with lots of photos here: https://imgur.com/a/9pniK6g
  4. I have to say I liked the large main hall in the old venue.
  5. I've been playing DB for less than 20 years but I seem to have got through a shedload of very expensive padded nylon gigbags. The destructive process has deffo been accelerated by switching to playing exclusively aluminium DBs which are - of course - significantly heavier than ply. I'm thinking I should investigate heavy duty gigbags made of thick canvas or similar. Has anyone here got any experience of such gigbags? Know where to look for them? Know whether they're worth it?
  6. I think this one is in need of a Paddington. Mark
  7. I ended up carrying a supply of “gender benders” for that exact reason. £8 a pair on Amazon and saved me many times from having to recover all the cables and swap them the right way round…
  8. Price in title reflects what I thought I paid. I actually paid £130 which is what you can have it for if you collect it.
  9. I’ve tried to love this but it’s not for me. Bloodwood Wishbass Lobe sold and sent by Kodiak. Can supply my own images if required. Collection only from Bristol for £130. (Advertised locally for more as I’ve just ordered a takeaway curry and that’ll make up the difference).
  10. This just came to be in a trade deal, but I have no use for it really. You know the score with these, absolutely wonderful piece of kit on every level, super musical EQ and ready to drop into your Jazz bass. This one has the more retro, Fender-style controls. £120 + £5 UK postage No trades thanks. Cheers Si
  11. There is a wait list early adopters sale thing now. $499.
  12. I have another spare from an unknown vintage bass if anyone needs one. I think it was a mid 70s bass but k have no idea. To qualify for this exclusive offer, you must show an empty hole on a vintage bass or one filled with straplocks (spit).
  13. Thanks for the tip. Michael sent a note that I'm on the wait list.
  14. Oh man I forgot about fretless basses! Bought three different ones over the years because I thought I should have one in the arsenal only to sell them on years later when no opportunity to use them live presents itself. Nearly did it again a few weeks ago but common sense prevailed at the eleventh hour…

  16. Again, not the sort of thing that lends itself to a display for a room full of people at a Bass Bash. You could absolutely discuss why a bass player may want to use a HPF, but difficult to demonstrate in the same way you could show the benefits of, and the different ways of how to use a compressor.
  17. It's not something to be demonstrated in that 'audio' fashion, but if the speaker cone displacement was visible, it could make the point. Not all comparisons are audible; this is one of them.
  18. Maybe - but the hole pattern is wrong - the Sterling bridge has three holes along the bottom and two on the outside edges of the plate. The three in the middle *might* line up OK, but even if that happens you'd have two redundant holes in the plate left and right, and you'd either have to ignore them and hope that three screws is enough, or drill new holes for the first and fifth holes. Definitely not a direct replacement.
  19. Thanks they look nice but bass direct only have the 5 string
  20. Cheers mate 👍🏻

  22. Yes, they've got modified cattle prods in the ear pieces, but shhh, don't tell anyone!
  23. Great choice! - I have the smaller M2 which I take when travelling to use with a laptop. It's performed flawlessly. I really like MOTU's products and have owned several over the years. The MIDI Express 128 running the synths in my studio is nearly 20 years old, and hasn't skipped a beat.
  24. Fender only made 500-550 of these Active Flea basses, so this pickup is super rare. I was due to pop it in a project, but an unexpected bass purchase has changed that. Designed by Tim Shaw, it has a huge output, and well sculpted tone. It has ceramic magnets, just like Flea’s Lane Poor pickups. Photographed with a Fender Active Flea Bass and exposed pickup just for verification. £150 collected, or postage via Royal Mail at cost.
  25. Thank you ! Parts arrived from Farnell , and all fitted yesterday. So far, so good ! Sounding great to me. One thing I noticed was the voltage setting link is set on the middle position , 220v . ( middle of PCB ) Would you be willing to check your amp see which position your link is on. There is another position, next to it, with 120/240 written on it . Is your link there ? There is also a large link at the side of the PCB , that is NOT fitted. Best Wishes, Mike.
