Iron maiden in dublin - still awesome after all these years. not the best Ive seen them (no criticism, theyve just set such a high bar for live performance over the years) but if you asked me to draw up my dream setlist it'd be pretty close to this. New drummer seem to have settled in nicely, he's not quite as fluent sounding as nicko but he's only been with them for a couple of months, rather than nicko's 40+ years. Adrian smith dusted off his old Lado guitar, was a shame 'arry didnt dig his Lado bass out too - he was as flawless as ever - an absolute machine. not my footage but it gives the general gist of things - I was a bit irked by the cgi projected backdrop at first but it quickly won me over - it's probably the best Ive ever seen this sort of thing used. I was feeling positively seasick by the end of the ancient mariner

Nice score Russ! The GTBD was on my bucket list for a few years albeit I was not succesfull in getting one. I had a GT-7 though for a few years, the regular overseas Conklin 7er and that was a great bass, heavy but balanced exceptionally well with the huge body and fat neck. I seem to remember that the neck on the Dickens model is somewhat narrower and thinner than the GT-7. I think you are up for a treat!

Thanks for detailed reply, Sibob. Well, as a matter of fact, I do have TS -> XLR cables custom made for running DI out of Stomp! I'm not exactly sure, how I'd hear it in this particular scenario? Thank you. PS What a lovely board you got there!

Wear a cap, that's what I'm doing. Are you in standing or seated?

Band Mule: A calendar app for bands Anyone using it?
pete.young replied to Phil Starr's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for that Phil, it looks really useful. I've not had any problems with BandMule crashing, ether on my current Pixel 6a or the Redmi Note 9 that preceded it. -

Don't worry. Speakers will happily tolerate short bursts of as much as twice their rated power. Add to that the fact that an amplifier rarely if ever delivers its full rated power and you'll be fine. It will be obvious from the sound if you are pushing it too hard. Just back off the volume in the unlikely event that happens.

HeadlessBassist started following NDB - eBay you hateful b*stard!

Lovely Conklin you've scored there - you'll be able to iron your shirts on the fingerboard in between string changes!

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Just watching it now. Love the old R&B stabs in the arrangements. Shame they’re relying so much on backing tracks though….

Old has been funkster here. What I find odd about it all is how uncool everybody is. It seems like everyones going .."me me me". Even the bands have to call out to the fans the obligatory "Glastonbury"!! every other song. Anyway currently watching Free at the IOW circa 1970, crowd sat on the ground in quiet contemplation....Lovely.

I was just looking at another thread showing a bass stack that included cabs I do not like (clue - coloured sound and look). I suddenly realised that since getting an LFSys, I have had three amps. Before that I was changing cabs more than Rab C Nesbitt changed his string vest.

Scale length of the GTBD-7 is indeed 34 inches @velvetkevorkian, not 35 inches @binky_bass. 😉

If I told you how much I sold my 76 for in 2000 (With a trace elliot 7215SM combo) you’d cry. Wish I could affford this - but life’s got a bit iffy (already disabled out of the workforce and Wifey has just been diagnosed with ME and will be joining me). I loved my 76.. it was fantastic. Ruiner started following RMS Vs peak....again

Apologies, I know this has likely been done to death but couldn't find a specific answer via search. Basically my 2x12 Zilla cab is 4ohms and 600w. Just picked up a v1 Darkglass MT500, and stupidly only now realised that whilst it's 500w RMS at 4ohms, it's actually 750w peak. For those better versed with this stuff than I (most people here I'd assume) am I going to need to get a different cab or will the Zilla likely be fine as long as I'm not running the volume super high. Or is the peak of 750w always going to need to be accommodated by the speaker, regardless of volume? Greatful for any advice.

Yep. So far I have enjoyed Osees, Loyle Carner, badbadnotgood and am looking forward to watching burning spear and vieux farka toure.
