A slight change to my pedalboard with the addition of the Lusithand F1 filter preamp. It’s so nice to be able to create those thick Wal tones with this addition❤️ -

“Rush” UK Tour March 2027
NancyJohnson replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
Whereas XTC, Tears For Fears and FGTH can bang out Steven Wilson reissues (including remixed albums, ATMOS/DTS mixes) for sub £30.00. Pricing on these Super-duper deluxe boxsets are bonkers. Queen, Kiss, Rush etc. all guilty. Elderly fans (because lets face it, we're all nudging 60) have oh so deep pockets. -
I keep buying these as I love them, but keep needing to sell for other things. Once I sell my Bergantino head, im going back to EBS amps which have it built in (albeit much simpler) Probably the best value for money compressor you can get. This is the third "Studio Edition" of the legendary EBS comp, which features the classic three modes Tube SIM - adds a lovely warmth and Thickness to the mids. Great for Growly rock tones. Multi band - compress the highs and lows seperately, tames the high end snaps and leave the low end a bit less compressed for depth and clarity. Great for equalizing between a finger and slap tone. Normal - the classic EBS sound found on their amp heads. Nice Transparent tone, that gently evens the tone, without adding Colour This comp is a great choice for people that want variety and great tone, but very easy to use. This is in fantastic condition, with Velcro on bottom. £80 incl UK only delivery

I wonder if people had similar discussions when the self-playing 'pianola' was invented.

I would be worried if I'd trained as a mastering engineer, or was a commercial jingle/advet music maker or made background music for TV/games etc. those aren't careers that are going to be around in 10 years. People making original music recordings I'd say they are going to be up against more competition, but AI can also help them. There hasn't been much £ in recording music for a while now though, it is all in live performance and merchandise and endorsements etc. so I'm not sure if it'll make a huge difference to purely recording musicians. Live performers haven't got much to worry about, and people that just like playing instruments have nothing to worry about. I'm not woried as someone that enjoys playing instruments with a band and gigging. People have had the option of just listening to recorded music at home for over a century but they still want to go out and see live music and have that human connection (all be it less so then previously). I wouldn't mind at all for music to go right back to the folk type 'turn up to a pub with an instrument and all have a sing along' stuff, everyone being part of it, I've no interest in being seen as anything special up on a stage.

Jam Rattler and DOD FX 91 Bass OD for sale Rattler is a great RAT clone for Bass with a really useful blend dial to keep the bottom end in. Load of online demos on YouTube. I've got the original box and packaging with this one. There's not a scratch on it. FX 91 is the first Bass fx I ever bought from good old AI music in Manchester on Oxford Road. Rattler is £145 posted royal mail (recorded). DOD FX 91 is 55 posted (recorded) Both have large velcro strip on the back but easily removed. No trades thanks. For collection in south Manchester knock a fiver off each price.

If I were searching for a midi keyboard, I would be looking on Facebook Market place, and popping into the local cash converters and charity shops. It's easy to look up the specifications of whatever comes up - and if it has Midi DIN, then you can play it and see if it feels right for you. I picked up a £50 Kurzweil SP76 from Cash Converters, which has Midi-din, and I later realised that it has multichannel Midi capability.

While wasting some more of my life scrolling through youtube shorts, I came across information from Japan. The Japanese have been painting stripes on their cows, but for different reasons. Their reasoning is that stripes confuse mosquitoes who then don't know where to land on the cow. Less bites lowers the cows stress and so produces more and better milk. There, now you've wasted a little bit of life too.

The clearout continues. This thing is extremely loud if you want it to be. I generally have the volume on about 0.5/10 for practise but, alas, I play directly into an interface 99% of the time these days so it is surplus to requirement. Probably the most usable "gain" I've had on a small amp, it adds a good amount of saturation and a little compression without farting out; if I needed a practise amp, I'd just get another of these. These go for a little under £200 and I've knocked a lot off to cover marks on the side and the fact that the fancy EBS logo on the front has gone walkabout. At one point this was living in an IKEA Kallax (in which it fit suspiciously perfectly) and I wanted a clean look. If it turns up then I'll pass it on to the seller with the finest second class postage. Kettle lead included, of course, but no original box. Delivery possible at buyer's risk, expense, yadda, yadda. Very quick demo - (passive jazz with TI flats pushing 20) - I don't like how the demos online all just use the DI.

Too many strings, too complicated for me. £130 collected, postage can be arranged at buyer's cost and risk. Waggle stick not included. It's had a fret polish, a setup and a set of fresh strings since I rescued it from an auction but the fingerboard could do with a few more doses of oil - this might not come across perfectly in the photo.

I dunno for the OP, but for me it would be as much as an emotional connection to a particular instrument as any physical thing. The "I did that gig with this guitar" type bond. Can be a double edged sword though - I once hunted down a Status fretless I had had sold years previously and managed to buy it back. And then realised I had moved on from wanting it so sold it again. Ironically I actually fancy having a fretless again but I think I'd be happy with a much cheaper Jazz this time. But I did once own a lovely Gibson Explorer. IIRC it was a 1983 re-issue of a 76. In white with gold hardware. I did so many gigs with that and I traded it in at Chandlers Guitars - part-x against one of the original 2 channel Mesa Dual Rectifiers. I tried to get that guitar back but the shop had sold it on for cash and didn't have the buyers details. Unless it had been refinished in the meantime I would definitely recognise it!

Sure, but that's not something that started this year, it's been happening over a couple of decades already, and driven by multiple factors that preceded AI, in particular: - decline in alcohol consumption and pubs closing down; - the rise of video/pc/multi player gaming in popularity as an alternative to going out / heading to a nightclub.

Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.

At a big outdoor gig last summer... Delayed start due to power cut, only served to help us! Using the P bass... When I do a festival or shared backline thingy I usually take a passive bass, keep everything as simple as possible. For some reason the bass was barely audible on stage but fine out front so that may explain the odd facial expression! -
Rock Covers two band a trio and a five piece 2 guitars loudish drummer but not animal Cab to be determined just looking at the option of a power amp on the pedalboard are there any others
