  7. Up for grabs is my Moon JJ4. Ebony fretboard, brass nut, the body looks like alder... The preamp is the legendary Bartolini TCT, the original Marcus Miller preamp. Мany scratches and dents on the body. The neck is straight, the frets are polished. 4.240 kg Hard to beat (at any price) in terms of sound, playability and craftmanship.

  8. Not gonna lie, I'm a fan of the Sherwood Green P and Mustang. Both look gorgeous to me. I can understand the need to fill this gap from a marketing point of view, especially considering how poorly the American Performer range that preceded it appears to have sold. I found the previous Am Performer offerings kinda weedy. Limited finishes and fingerboard options, the P bass was only PJ and the headstock decals all looked awful. Very overpriced compared to the more recent Mexican offerings (my 60th Ann. Roadworn Jazz still beats the pants off a lot of other instruments that cost a heck of a lot more!!!) I reckon the Am performers were nowhere near as nice as the old Highway 1/One's or American Specials beforehand and I think that was a deliberate ploy to try and walk customers up another few hundred $$$ to the Am PRO/ PRO II lines And now we are here - 'Oh look, we've sold bugger all Performers but we need another line to fill in the ever-widening gap between Mexico and US production.' The new Vintera stuff is properly good and so is the AM PRO II range (I have 3 of em) - I take my hat off to Fender for both lines. I can see why they have gone back to re-fill this little gap. I'm not so sure about the Classic part in the title but at least it fits with the rest of the line up. The greasebucket tone circuit has it's pros and cons I guess and I like the lollipop tuner idea. Now tossing up between the new Sherwood P or an older (12-14) American Standard P in Charcoal Frost...

  13. I don't but I know a fellow Peavey owner over on Talkbass has a couple. Oddly enough his forum name is "UnicornBass", can't believe I've known him for years and the penny has just dropped 🤣

  20. ... or 'come up one fret higher on each string', to get the fingering to correspond to the notes. No wonder it took you all so long. ...
  21. I hope you enjoy your Monza , I decided to get two at the time …. Just because…. Well y’know! .It’s nice to have that luxury even if you don’t always need it 😊.They do indeed sound sublime together but i regularly use just one. They are very capable units.
  22. I admit when I saw the thread tittle my brain automatically filled in the blanks:
  23. A dress is the way to go! Female bass players are the new swag, or whatever the young folks call that nowadays. But don't wear a skirt, people might get offended on behalf of Scottish people. Especially if you wear make up.
  24. Epifani 410UL Bass Cab up for auction. Lovely cab in good condition, some ware to top of the carpet lining from stacking gear. Big deep tone, punchy, takes power well, lightweight and portable. 4x 10” speakers with horn,1000 watts @ 8om. Around 27kg only. I've used with a 4ohm 700watt amp running at roughly 450 watt when plugged into this cab and its been plenty loud enough for pubs, clubs and a couple of small festivals. £200 . Collection with test welcome I maybe able to deliver / meet halfway depending on where you are for fuel cost, message me for details
  25. I have (hopefully) four more cheap dmx PAR lights (for a total of six) coming tomorrow with one of the cheap controllers. It may be weeks before I have time to experiment propery dueto work
  26. Nice playing in the video - love that slap break !!
  27. Hi

I now own a 1980s Ibanez RS924 Roadster bass. It replaces one I sold over 40 years ago and have regretted ever since.

Unfortunately its fretless. I'm no player so learning fretless would be a challenge.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement fretted neck? I tried Headstock, AllParts, and GuitarBuild. No joy.

Any thoughts at all would be most welcome.

    Thanks .

For what you'd pay for a good replacement neck, would it not be better to get this one fretted?

      Mark
