The Bass Channel's review vid was good, but not good enough to convince me unfortunately - Not that we're likely to see too many of the 300 this side of the pond

I must admit, myself and some of my muso friends, blanket bomb Facebook with this gem annually. All rather childish, really...

Yes, stunning. Looks like you're going to get yours before I get mine, Mick.

I love the 434, just wish it had the 734 style inlays. Tbf if I pick one up I’ll just probably add them my self. Crazy value!

Excuse my ignorance but why are you testing microphones, especially given they all appear to be giving you similar results? Not criticising, just genuinely interested, all seems a bit eccentric in which case I'm with you 👍 BTW I went quite mad trying out various permutations of my Townsend L22 Sphere, wish I'd stuck with my SM7-Bs to be honest

Washburn Vulture II Bass MIJ 1980 Classic Japanese Washburn from the Wing series. Made in the renowned Yamaki Factory back in the 80’s. The body is beautiful with a sculptured rear cutaway area, binding neck and body, through neck with through body stringing. The cream pickups look like Dimarzios but are Washburn models. The bass is all original apart from the tuners which are replacement Schallers. The originals failed and had missing parts when I bought it. There was a lacquer crack now repaired on the back of the neck/headstock. Bass plays nicely and the trussrod works. Frets are worn but have life in them. Sounds great with a wide range of tones and all the electrics work as they ought to. It’s got some dings from being heavily gigged throughout the 80s and 90s by the original owner. No case or bag. It’s heavy at 4.7kgs but I have rehearsed with it for an extended period and because it is well balanced it’s not too bad. You don’t see many of these about and they are great examples of Japanese craftsmanship from this time. I believe they were made at the same time and in the same factory as the lesser known Daion brand and share similar features. Pickup preferred but will post at buyer’s cost in UK only.

This man knows how to wrap a parcel! I still remember how well it looked. I almost didn't want to spoil it by opening it.

That's brilliant news. If these parameters could also be made per-program that would be even better. I've just been playing through all the presets and I find I'm having to adjust the Note On and Not Off settings to get the best out of each program.

Working through the ABRSM piano grades
bass_dinger replied to bass_dinger's topic in Other Instruments
"If that buffoon @bass_dinger can do it, then surely i can, too!" If you elect to put yourself through the small Hell that is the face-to-face exam, then the timetable is April and October/November. So, Grade 2 by the end of 2026 is entirely achievable. And the really good news is that you can spend the price of a nice bass amplifier on lessons and exams, yet not exclude yourself from the 2026 Gear Abstinence Challenge! However, if it is focus, purpose and a direction that your want, then the ABRSM grades and lessons will give you that. From reading your musical biography, we both had the same background - playing chords, but nothing much of the fancy stuff (so, just like an acoustic guitarist, then....). You may find that you can teach yourself a lot of the stuff - with fingering annotations for the scales, it's just a case of working through them, and having a lesson every other week to help you play the pieces. Well done for taking the leap! Robert -
These were introduced in 2010 and made in Korea. They're referred to as the Import series I believe and they were sent back to Zon for a setup before they were sent to dealers. Super rare over here....I saw a couple in a bass specialist shop many years ago and I think they were retailing at about £1200 back then? I was fortunate enough to pick my Sonus Standard Import up a while back in a local shop. They didn't actually know what they had on the wall and a lowball offer secured it because they could only sell Squier P basses! I'll never sell it as it's a fabulous bass and so rare.
