  2. One of the above, in good condition, weighs 8.5kbs. No case, no shipping, collection/meet up only.
  3. One of the above, in good condition aside from slight dents on the top horn near the strap button, and holes on the headstock where I fitted a Hipshot triple retainer - happy to put it back on if required. Weighs 6.8lbs. Comes in a generic gig-bag. No shipping, collection/meet up only.
  4. This is really rather lovely but we just haven't clicked. It's a Warwick Corvette Taranis 5 string in Burgundy Red. The swamp ash body has a sand blasted finish exposing the grain which may or may not be to your liking! The neck is laminated from some beautiful ovangkol. It's very manageable 8.8ilbs/3.99kg. Usual Warwick build quality all round. Large pole piece MEC pickups, jazz at the neck and MM at the bridge. the bridge pickup has a series/single(neck coil)/parallel switch so combined with a pick up pan control and two band eq you get a lovely range of sounds. The Volume control has a push pull active/passive switch. A few scars on the body and one small ding on the back of the neck by the octave on the low side. There's a reasonable gig bag with it. I can't post so a meet or collect is best. I travel about a fair bit with my work so we may be able to sort out something.

  7. Ah, Ray Cooper, maybe..? (Watch the reaction of the other players..!)
  8. Woah, what a beauty!
  9. Oddly enough, I was chatting with Lee Sklar on Brooke's Bass Corner live chat the other week. That's an interesting bit of lateral thinking
  10. If you like Sadowsky build and tone then find one of these Metros. Plenty of thump. It's been my go to for over 10 years.
  11. Gong. Just once at the very end of the song is fine, anywhere else is overplaying.....😇
  12. Choke Me - The Used
  13. Those Player II's are getting some lovely figured wood, especially on your headstock. Hope you enjoy your lovely bass!
  14. Wicked little analogue drum machine. Built in drive circuits gets you that nasty Nine Inch Nails drum sound with ease, but works for most styles. Very good sequencer for building out tracks. Excellent condition, boxed, with power supply etc. Asking £170 + £5 postage. Collection in Derby is welcomed.

  17. A month or so ago I saw Marie and Rosetta in our local theatre. Beverly Knight was incredible, but her co star, Ntombizodwa Ndlovu, was just as good. The two of them made a couple of hours pass like minutes.
  18. Did you decide to keep it? I've been eying this up but don't think I could part with my Precision at the moment !
  19. Not to flex on somebody else's achievements, but my drummer finished a tour with a broken foot a couple of years ago. Came offstage badly during an encore moment and broke it but still finished the gig before he realised he couldn't stand on it. Luckily we had a couple days off so he got booted at the hospital, me and him went into the studio and he relearned the set playing left foot kick, and then we did the last three gigs. He was taking the boot off so he didn't have to hobble onstage with it which earned him a shouting from the doctor after we wrapped. He's healed up fine thankfully. Wouldn't do it now but you know how it is when you're young and the band is the most important thing to ever thing.
  20. At present I've only got this: I'd quite like another fretless but I almost always end up playing double bass these days so it seems a bit of an extravagance (and I will be knocked out of the gear abstention challenge). This one (with Villex pickups) also crosses over with the fake Fender decals thread... Taking the neck off reveals a "Fender" stamp due to it being licensed (the body's from the same source). The decal (easily removable) is only there for the "well, you didn't bring a proper bass but at least that electric one's a Fender" crowd.
  21. My first reaction would be to keep the side jack and change the now redundant knob for a "talent switch" or "producer switch" a la Lee Sklar. Does nothing, but won't draw as much attention as an extra control knob.

  23. Anyone know how to replace the bulb ..... It's probably really obvious, but i don't want to open the case up without knowing whether it's necessary or not ..... there loooks to be a way of just removing the VU unit from the front panel??
  24. Hey SSG's (sweet, sweet guys!), I'm in the middle of doing a deal for a rather nice 1995 Stingray (which I think a couple of BC members have previously owned.) Only thing is, it's been modded/monkied with and I want to get it as close to stock as I can. It's had an Aguilar OBP 2-band preamp added, a blend control (is it's now four knob, as opposed to three on the control plate), a side jack socket added, and it's previously had Aguilar pickups added, including a rout for an "HS" configuration. The current owner has removed the single coil pickup and replaced the Aguilar humbucker with the proper MM one which was kindly sent by the original 'modder', so it looks fine now (or will do) with a new black scratch plate (on order as we speak), but it has four controls, one of which doesn't work, being as the single coil has been excised. Here's what I'm thinking - add a new jack socket to the four-hole control plate and maybe turn the side jack into an XLR? Or maybe leave it as is and just have a fourth control that does nothing. Any other options you can think of? With mods... (photo credit SweenyRod) ... and currently
