  2. Brilliant! I love it when a plan comes together! I look forward to seeing how you get on with a 5. The only HB I've ever played was the little purple one at the SW Bash raffle this year. Impressive build and I said on the day, that if I was still globe-trotting for a living, I'd have ditched my B2A for one of those.
  3. Got a C4 again from @d_g Hooked it up with my MIDI and mapped out my fave moog/synth presets. Definitely missed this pedal and I actually find this better now than the mxr bass synth after using it again. Sustains longer before it glitches out and feels good responding to my attack. Latest update on the Neuro app is more intuitive and presets sounds better than before. I find this a better workflow for me than cycling through mxr’s 8 presets. It’s still a great pedal though.
  4. At that price, I doubt you would have any regrets. I actually like that finish! I wonder if the neck pocket would fit a standard fender jazz neck? From memory, I don't think when I was starting bass in the mid 90s there was much on offer below £200 😀 Crazy what is available now!
  5. Good point. I've only ever been sent notation and slash chord charts. And those have been rare.

  7. Boxing Day gig for The Bonnevilles at the Anker Inn in Weddington, on the borders of Nuneaton. Rather empty when we started - and it was an early start, at 6pm. We had a guest singer to do the inter-set break - she's become a regular fixture at our gigs, through doing open mics that our BL runs. She used backing tracks off her phone until the last song, when we accompanied her for "Creep". The second set had rather more of an audience, with a few of them dancing. Our guest singer came back on towards the end of our set to do "Sweet Child O' Mine". It was during that that I noticed that my wireless was showing battery low, so while she was getting back off the stage (it might only be 15cm high but it's a real stage) I switched wirelesses. Then we had a couple more songs, and into the final one, "Tulane". We were about 3/4 of the way through when the guitar cut out. The drummer and I carried on playing, singer carried on singing, guitarist was going over his pedalboard and amp trying to find the problem, singer did the band introduction for all of us, and then, just after he'd introduced the guitarist, the guitar suddenly burst back into life (guitarist told me afterwards he had no idea what had happened, it just started working again) and we finished off. Antoniotsai dragon 5-string -> Lekato and M-Vave wirelesses -> Zoom MS-60B+ -> Tecamp Puma 900 -> GR Bass AT212. The usual Caravelle memory foam trainers.
  8. Really wasn’t looking forward to tonight, but it turned out way better than expected. We were told that 44 tickets had been sold beforehand, but clearly some folk just turned up on spec and I counted about 70 bodies. A promoter for a local event came to see us, stayed for both sets and seemed genuinely impressed. A couple of senior moments, as ever, but mostly on point. The last time I played this venue I couldn’t hear myself and had a good old moan about it on BC. Some bright spark (I’m thinking @Beedster but I could be wrong) suggested this set up, rather than stacked, for potentially better monitoring: Absolute genius! Whilst not crystal clear, it was near enough - I thank you 🙏 way of the future. As you can see, it was my usual Phil Jones rig, Maruszczyk Elwood L fretless plus pedals (mini Pitch Black, Sadowsky SPB2, MXR M87 & Tech21 VTDI).
  9. It has the classic 2-Band with boost only Highs und Lows. There is a switch for a Midboost, you can choose the Boost and 500Hz or 800Hz, narrow or wide Bandwith (these are the four Dipswitches on the Backside). You can also set the Gain of the Boost and the overall Level with Boost engaged. Very handy!
  10. A wicked powerhouse bass!! Been in my possession since new after I did some promo videos for Aria. Studio use only, never gigged. Slight scratch on the back (pictured). No gigbag/case. Collection only from SW London.

  11. Here we have my DBX DriveRack PX professional loudspeaker management processor with matching DBX reference microphone for sale. I am the second owner, and this has lived in a flightcase all its life alongside my mixing console. Condition is used, although the reference mic was new this year (2025) has never been used in anger. A great tool for those of us who mix live sound from stage side whilst playing. I’m only selling as I have now upgraded my bass bins to a matching pair to my tops so will be using the internal crossovers to cut down on the weight of gear I shlep to gigs. Because I am inherently lazy, I asked ChatGPT to describe the functionality and this is what it came up with, which sounds accurate to me based on my experience. “The DBX DriveRack PX is a professional loudspeaker management system that optimises live sound systems. It combines automatic room tuning, crossover control, EQ, dynamics, and feedback suppression in one rack-mount unit. Using the included DBXRTA-M measurement microphone, you can run auto-EQ and real-time analysis to tailor your speakers and subs for smooth, balanced frequency response in any venue. Other key features include configurable crossovers, delay alignment, compression/limiting, and feedback elimination, making it ideal for PA systems, bands, DJs, and event sound setups.” I’m looking for £300 for the DriveRack and reference mic, or £250 for the DriveRack and £50 for the microphone. Collection from Killingworth Newcastle upon Tyne, or delivery at the buyers cost and risk. Any questions, please ask!
  12. Seconded, as a non-vegetarian. Ground up bone filings smell absolutely vile.
  13. A lot of what you said make sense but as bassists that run our band’s PA some of this is out of the question. For example I don’t run any outboard and the AK CQ20 does not include multi and compression and even if I would like to, I would not have time to set up a multi-band compressor. I have found that some of the factory pre-sets, especially for male and female vocals are great starting points, and in an ideal world we could all run a sound check with pink noise even before the “live” sound check. So what are your absolute basics?
  14. Is this £50 or £55 including postage?

  16. There are some boutique pedals that offer various ways of blending-in the dry signal (both Eras and Ages by Walrus or Mandrake by KMA), but Blue Colander's approach is slightly different, probably because Juliusz always has bass players in mind. Both of his additional knobs make the pedals perfect for bass players indeed. Clockwise rotation of Jolt in Doppel adds undistorded LOWS to the mix, which not only prevents the loss of lower frequencies, but also magically emphasizes the oomph of all the dirt instead of pushing it to the background. Range on Crooked Axis seemingly does the same but works the opposite way - dimed it offers the actual amount of clean lows and turning it counterclockwise removes the low frequencies from the distortion (but not from the mix).
  17. Ooohh that is so nice and what a great price for a bass like this. I do love a nice Jazz. GLWTS Dave
  18. She sells sanctuary? Blinding tune to play if you embellish the middle eight
  19. Awesome bit of kit that has helped me play my bass and my Novation Bass Synth through the same signal path. I've used it as two inputs routed to one out, but can also direct one input to two outs. Really superb utility pedal for your studio / pedal board. Fully working and in great condition. £45 with postage to be added. Probably £5, or collect from Warwick. Thanks,

  23. Dave, I think going into 2026 blues rock is going to become more and more of a challenge. I doubt I could pivot to a top tier party cover band. Daryl

  25. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.
  26. It's handy. It's also powerful enough to play gigs, it sounds good, it's got a very quiet, useable DI. Records well. And I'll say it's solid money that the only person who cares about a better sounding amp is you, not any audience you'll ever play for. It's just a solid little, unremarkable piece. As it happens, this came along down my trail cheap, and I like the simplicity of it. And I can take it out of the little cab it's in and drop it in the gig bag for a jam or recording session, and it's easy to travel with (put it in my shaving kit). Nothing about it is really compelling, but it's about the size of a SanSamp BDDI, which is pretty cool.
