  2. I had a Retrovibe bass (the one in the photo) that was a p-bass neck, pseudo-ricky body with musicman pick ups and bridge. Sounds a bit of a Frankenstein but looked the part🎸
  3. Jad Freer Capo preamp/di pedal in excellent condition. Comes with original box but not the fabric bag.
  4. ☝️ Press each string down on either side of the nut as well, so that it doesn't curve like a banana over the top. Reduces your chance of weird chorus-y noises. Same thing at the saddles too.
  5. Cost me about £350 back in the day and was the core of my board and IEM setup for a number of years. Essentially it’s a 2 channel mixer with a DI, balanced and unbalanced out for the bass. With a 2nd input for an IEM feed, this input is switchable mono/stereo. So basically allows you to take a really great FOH signal or utter trash. I use to take a passive feed out of the back of PA speakers. There is then a thru for you to pass this feed on to other band members and I’ll include a 4 channel Behringer Headphone mixer (that currently I can’t find the 12v adaptor for) and you have an all in one IEM solution. So you have a control for the bass volume and the feed volume. Allows as I saw above to just grab anything from FOH and you’ll always be able to hear yourself. I do the same now with my Darkglass Anagram and in a pinch Element. Open to offers and as above will chuck in the Behringer 4 ch headphone amp and 2 pairs of 🤷🏻‍♂️ KS10’s (without tips for hygiene purposes) to give you a full wired simple IEM rig for those wanting to try it all out. Can also be used as a headphone amp with a Twelve South Airfly to add Bluetooth. This was made about 15 years ago so to me is noisier than I would like and the pots can be a bit crackly, but I’ve never sprayed any switch spray in there. Just part of my never ending clearout.

  6. Aye - unless you're band is famous enough to garner the attention of the concerned parties, you can pretty much do what you want. So if you want to do the LV, crack on.
  7. The ‘big rig’ hiding behind my bass at my last gig.
  8. I got into playing bass around the same time of discovering The Stone Roses, aged about 10/11 - I think the Stone Roses were just coming to and end and I bought everything CD single, album and bootleg I could find. Iconic bass lines, that weren't too hard to get a handle on and then discovering the grooves on the Second Coming - the bass line to Love Spreads... awe inspiring. Absolutely still love that to this day. Definitely a huge influence on me at a young age, and a bass player that had parts that worked inside the song and as hooks you could sing back. Absolutely gutted.
  9. No particular reason for these tuners, other than they happened to come up for sale on Basschat marketplace at the time I was assembling the bass. I'll send you a PM about your offer.
  10. Hi ezbass / PJfanboy! Thank you for your share.....I am seriously looking at a more powerful PJ combo for light gigging and adding a powered monitor for bigger gigging. I love the transparent tone, and can barely believe that I am saying that of a solid state amp. The only other solid state bass amp I've ever liked was a huge old Accoustic rig with horns on top and a 1x18 on the bottom, and I think it was 2x12 n the middle.
  11. This thing's a real problem solver. GLWTS!
  12. I'm gutted. He's the reason I first bought a bass.
  13. @Jonesy Christmas is coming
  14. It's a handy place if you like cycling as well....Joe owns the bike shop next door too 🙂
  15. I'm not too familiar with his work so I'll have to have a proper listen. But I have one of his old Mesa BB750s as my main amp.
  16. What can be done?

  17. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Chrome hardware and a vintage sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a basswood body. A retro instrument with a modern twist." Maple Top Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck Lignum Rosa Fingerboard Entwistle MBH Bridge Pickup Entwistle MBN Neck Pickup Jumbo Frets 42mm Nut Width 30" Scale Length Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  18. Today
  19. Hahahha thanks @Beedster! I'm looking for a quick sale so any offers will be considered!
  20. Mani was married to my partner's cousin and although I only met him a handful of times over the years he was always incredibly charming and humble. He was kind and indulgent both when I was a slightly awestruck fan and when I had my own brief foray into not-quite the big time. Such a fantastic musician, sharp dresser and hero to vertically challenged bassists the world over. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad word about him. Just over two years ago the whole family was in the room next to me celebrating my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary - now Imelda, Mani and Imelda's mum are all gone. It's really sad here tonight.
  21. Started listening to his Rockonteurs interview just last night so hearing the sad news today after listening to him talking and in fine form was weird and unbelievable. Such sad news. That Stone Roses debut album was epic and those basslines were a thing of beauty... I'll admit I shed a few tears on the way home listening to Adored, Resurrection and Fool's Gold on 6 music. RIP Mani
  22. So, there's only one preamp left with linear pots and without any control plate, so €55 EUR (around £50 GBP).
  23. Finally, something worth visiting Maidstone for!
  24. The LV would definitely be an infringement. The JD waveform is more interesting. I guess you would need to find the original publication they copied the waveform from and ask them. Or not worry about it for a one off.
  25. I've got a VTDI I can loan if you fancy doing a comparison. I think of the Sansamp as a "close enough" pedal. I'm using it to get the character of an SVT or B15, rather than trying to emulate an exact amp. I've found that just because something sounds more like the amp it's replicating doesn't necessarily make it better
