  2. One of his Washburn's is for sale on Reverb: https://reverb.com/item/73626239-rick-savage-s-def-leppard-washburn-bubinga-5-string-bass-guitar-rs-5020-authenticated I always wondered if his Washburns were off the shelf versions or custom made for him in USA or Japan? I had a Washburn once with Status pickups and it was a ok but very cheaply put together, i took the finish off and it was basically plywood.
  3. I am working on a another monster at the moment but wanted to keep things moving so here is another 'easy' chart (easy enough to play but there are challenges in the reading). From the 1972 Deep Purple album, 'Machine Head', the complete Roger Glover bass part to maybe I'm a Leo' (actually, I am....) https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/maybe-im-a-leo-deep-purple/
  4. I certainly find its loud enough when there's a PA to assist with fold back. If I have to take cabs to a gig these days I take a 210 and the Terror Head. At the rehearsal room it's Into a 410 8 ohm cab (no fold back or in ears)
  5. I do hope there's an adventurous supermarket manager reading this and thinking "Well, why not give it a spin..?" I might blast it out from my phone next Saturday when I'm in Lidl.
  6. Stunning bass, and excellent playing. 👏
  7. Nah keep whining about Coldplay. It’s certainly more entertaining than any music they have released. Coldplay are the Korma of the Curry world. A curry for people who don’t really like curry.
  8. "Dr. Beat" was the first international single released by Miami Sound Machine, led by Gloria Estefan. Bass: Juan Marcos Avila https://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=1125
  9. Like A Virgin - Madonna
  10. Its not whining. They are the opposite to this, perfectly competent. Can't fault the playing, recording, mixing etc but they have no weirdness, nothing to challenge the listener, nothing unusual. They're just standard. This is the opposite to that. You're never going to hear this played as background music in a supermarket. Most people who hear this will think its a mess but those who get it will really enjoy it.
  11. Out of interest is the OTB v2 loud into a decent 8ohm cab ?
  12. Now price can be negotiable! 😀

  14. Just to reiterate how versatile Jaydees are: Any style, anywhere, any place... always sound great!
  15. Always the whining about Coldplay. Stop the bitterness and envy, before it destroys you.
  16. I think it's a preference thing, if you like that look then go for it!
  17. Microfrets so they can get quarter tones in the lower part of the neck.
  18. Sold Shug some vinyl - super smooth transaction. 🙏
  19. Have spent the last three days using IEMs exclusively (at a church conference) and I suspect they will now be here to stay - a sad day for my amps and cabs. However, apart from getting better ear pieces (I'm using KZ ZS10s), does anyone know a good way of tweaking the EQ on individual channels in the aux monitor mix? We are using a Yamaha TF1 desk and the monitor mix app, and while I can turn instruments up or down, what I really want to do is EQ a bit more thud in the kick, and also take some mids out of the guitar, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this without changing the main mix. I think the problem I'm having is because I can hear everything so much better through the IEMs the sound engineer part of me wants to EQ it as well! Alternatively are there any digital desks that have the capacity of EQing aux mixes separately to the main mix?

  21. I’ve heard the Lakland bass have great tonal flexibility. I needed my first to be something that I’d be willing to get up earlier than I would normally after a late shift, in order to practice. This is it Once my ability grows then I can start to make use of the controls. Right now it’s just master volume!
  22. A wonderfully lightweight Precision Bass with a straight neck, fully functioning Truss Rod, uprated Seymour ‘Duncan Designed’ Pick ups, professional KiOgen solderless Loom with Bourns Pots, Switchcraft input Jack, Fender Spaghetti Logo and comes complete with an as new (apart from a small scuff to the piping on one corner, please see next to last pic). Ordo lightweight softshell rigid foam case. In excellent condition with a 50’s style vintage two tone tobacco sunburst. Ti Flats fitted since original pics were taken. This is one of the very few sub 8lbs P basses I’ve encountered during the past half Century, weighing in at a mere 3.4kg - or 7.5lbs in ‘old money’ It has had a really nice set up - level frets etc. & plays really well with a low action and sounds like a good P Bass should, with more growl than a very growly thing from the Planet Growl partly thanks to the Maple fingerboard, but I suspect mainly due to our own John’s (Kiogen) recommended capacitor on this fabulous Loom. The headstock has had a refin & a spaghetti Fender logo applied to the headstock by a previous owner to a very high standard. What Fender say……. Features Thin and lightweight solid Popular body Duncan Designed split single-coil pickup 4-saddle hardtail bridge Open-gear tuning machines Chrome hardware Maple Neck Maple Fingerboard. Plus….. 23. @uk_lefty for drive and fuzz, I found that exploring all bass and guitar options with a scooch of clean blended in and plus/minus some of the bass control on parallel lines was the key to finding good tones. For my always on dirt I think I've got the the natural drive in parallel with the bass drive. Then fuzz, is the fuzz face on the bass overdrive and the bass fuzz on the transparent line. Don't drive them individually too hard, but the summing of them gives you a thickness and introduces some of the randomness that you get in the high frequencies of analog pedals.

  25. Don’t know if anyone has seen his clips on FB or Instagram? Appears to be playing in wedding bands based out of Boston but a really great player who seems to rearrange on the fly. Killer sadowsky tone too.
