  1. Past hour
  2. Do you have a multimeter you could check across the BF cab to see what ohms you are getting. If its shorted it may have caused a problem in the amps. No expert here but its what i'd do if my amp packed in. Dave
  3. What a cracking venue. So much character. Dave
  4. Lovely example and a great price. Is this an early version? I noticed the current ones have a matching headstock.
  5. Having arranged on of the very distant previous bass bash events… I’d rather just show up and enjoy the day
  6. Fender smoked chrome bass bridge taken from my Japanese Export Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. In good condition and comes with mounting screws. £9 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:
  7. Derby is an ideal location, set one up.
  8. Definitely up for attending, but not in a position to organise this year, as I work variable shifts. Any takers?
  9. Agree with every word re: Viv. This looks like a beautiful example of his work
  10. Looks lovely! Do you still have the original one piece pick guard? Thanks!
  11. Any whispers of another midlands bass bash in the future?
  12. I am selling off all my basses except for three, two of which are 32" scale - I just find them so comfy. But it has to be said that I dwell down in the depths of the budget end of the market. That said my budget basses have kept me gigging for the past couple of decades. Aria Pro II CSB range are medium scale with models at different price points. They are all good. I have the top end of the range model CSB 450 Black n Gold for sale in the classifieds for a giveaway £300 but, perhaps, not after tomorrow as someone is coming to look at it. Hondo II H1015 are medium scale. Necks on these are utterly superb lumps of maple. Heavy basses, mind. Known for the 3-point bridges to lift but that is an easy fix, often fitted with DiMarzio pickups as stock. Some Westone Concords are medium scale, some long scale. They are excellent and go for very little money, pickups in these are tremendous, very powerful. I believe there are one or two medium scale Westone Thunder basses, too. Fender do medium scale Precisions and Jazzes, usually MIJ for the domestic market, but they pop up fairly regularly. MIJ Squiers, also. I've had several over the years, notably an A series Squier Precision that was one of the best basses I've owned. Should never have sold it. The best of all the 32" scale basses I have tried/owned is the Yamaha SB-15. Superb. Rare, though, but you never know. Any of the above are pretty straight forward things and not scary to take a punt at second hand. There isn't much to go wrong and, if it does, it is usually easily and inexpensively corrected. I've not tried one but Ibanez Mezzo also gets a lot of love on here.
  13. That could certainly work, especially if combined with the cauls to distribute the pressure. The existing bridge could be used as a template to mark the holes you'd need to drill in those pieces.
  14. In my experience, Alan at ACG makes some of the best medium scale basses in the world. For your £1000 ‘new’ budget, you can pick up a pretty decent spec ACG 2nd hand. In fact, there is one for sale on BC right now…
  15. Jim Dunlop Dual Design Straplok Strap Retainer System Strap Locks (SLS1031N) Awesome strap locks and totally new and unused - never taken out of their packet. I bought these for a bass I ended up selling before they could be fitted. £20 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread:

  17. Oi, I'll have you know we dont live in the arse end of civilisation.....but we can certainly see it from here! 🤣🤣
  18. Je Suis Un Rock Star - Bill Wyman
  19. We talk a lot about Spector basses but don’t share the sounds very often, so hopefully this’ll make a change. I’ve been editing the recording of the cover band’s last gig and thought I’d just post these snippets of my gigging basses. Depending on the song, it’s either the Bahama Blue (Jap Import) Euro 4 LX with the maple board and black blocks or the Amber Euro 4). Both have EMGs and an LHZ-03 dimed going through a GK Fusion 550 with an Origin Cali 76 comp. FoH is taking a DI from the 550 postEQ+FX. The 550 is going through an LFSys Monaco on stage. Recorded with a Zoom H2n mounted above the mixing booth at the back of the venue. These clips should give you an idea of what it sounds like both up and down in the mix. You can hear some of the top end sizzle and clank cutting through in places. One trick pony? Yep. But it’s the best trick in the World and it’s a golden winged pony. 20. Gotoh 201B-4 Chrome Bass Bridge with Brass Saddles with 19mm string spacing. The best and coolest high mass bridge upgrade option, brand new and never taken out its box. I bought this for a bass that I ended up selling before I had the chance to get it fitted. £36 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread to prove I ain't a wrongun':

  22. Don't get fooled. Most low cost "isolated" power supplies are not really isolated. The isolation they speak of is that each output has its own short circuit protection.
  23. To reverse the demagnetisation, you'll need a lot of specially designed apparatuses, so it will be cheaper to change the pickup...
  24. QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs
