  2. Photo from yesterday evening's guest spot
  3. Ooooooooooh yeah!
  4. Cant think of a festival in recent years which was any different. This boom and bust mixing thing is the pits. Times I've sidled over to the desk, pint in hand but then thought better of it. But yes totally agree the vast majority of "sound guys" haven't a clue.
  5. FS/T - in gold (right handed) .. just swapped for some Gotoh black tuners so now surplus .. £25 posted https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_parts_locking_tuners_6l_gold.htm
  6. Sorry I'm late, but what a fantastic interview... more of a chat, really. How can he be so humble?! An inspiration to us all, I think. I need a Barbie flesh StingRay 5 now, if anyone's selling one?
  7. Another one from the same band/bass player, this is tune called 'Jesahel' from the 1997 Dirotta Su Cuba album, 'E’ Andata Così'. An Italian Miami Sound Machine! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/jesahel-dirotta-su-cuba/
  8. Thanks for all the tips. The keyboard player and bass are going to work on both their arrangements and tones to give each other more space and work together better.
  9. That's a very naughty looking corner! 😁
  10. Great Condition velcro on base works perfectly. ill throw in the PC/Mac connection lead. There’s a whole raft of settings and downloadable tone prints. price includes UK postage £5 off for collection

  11. You can get shipping insurance. Parcel2go looks pretty cheap to ship this.
  12. Damn you, Gary 😄 😄 Now I have to get one, thanks a lot 🙂 (secretly hoped though that there is a 5er version 😉 ) Yes but, alas, no. But the quest begins! 🙂
  13. I fought the law - The Clash
  14. Today
  15. Can you post a photo of your setup? What do you mean when you say you cant hear the pedals? As in you can't hear a different whether they're turned on or off?
  16. According to spec it should weigh 57 lbs -- 25.85 kg
  17. Just - Radiohead
  18. It needs cleaning, with this or the equivalent. https://www.crcindustries.com/qd-electronic-cleaner/
  19. I get the joke, but I use my left had (with keyboard split) to do a lot of brass/string stuff. If the bass player wants to do that (and I know how some love those silly synth pedals) go ahead, otherwise............
  20. My OTB 500 has developed nasty habit of making a very loud crackling sound for a few seconds after I move volume from zero up even a small amount after turning on and flipping the switch after its warmed up a bit. After its done it the volume control behaves itself for hours and even switching off and on doesn't get it to do it again. Do you think this might be valve related or just a knackered volume control knob or something else?
  21. Got asked to do a dep in a couple of weeks. I know most of the songs. Not looking forward to sequeing play that funky music into superstition- that always fries my brain! And they have Mama Mia on the list 🤪
  22. To deepen nut slots without using a file, use a scalpel or craft knife with a sideways scraping action to retain the curved base of the slot. Make sure the front of the slot is slightly higher to ensure you don't get rings or buzzes. These can be cured by reducing the back of the slot only. An over-deep slot can be restored with a tiny slip of paper, reinforced with a drop of superglue. After adjusting a truss rod, use the heel off your hand to rap the neck in a few places to ensure it settles. Light mineral oil is good for lubing machine heads. Lemon oil for fretboards is just light machine oil with a small amount of lemon oil as scent and can be used in an 'emergency'. Never use pure lemon oil on instruments. If you use 000 wire wool to take the gloss off a neck, it can usually be restored using t-cut.
  23. Three gigs this week. Tuesday was our monthly gig at a local pub ( acoustic duo). Plenty of great requests, including a few for the inevitable ‘Paranoid’ which we left until the end. Probably the busiest we’ve seen it, a lovely crowd all up for a good time and a laugh too - we did ‘Sylvia’s Mother’ and don’t know how we got to the end TBH. A fabulous gig, best we’ve done there I think. Wednesday was my weekly gig playing rock and roll at a local club. I’m getting a few songs together to sing , to give my guitarist mate a break mainly. I did JJ Cale’s ‘The Breeze’ and also ‘High heel sneakers’ which went down well with the dancers. Then Saturday I was depping with a local band at a garden party 6 miles from my village. We played under a gazebo at the end of the garden, and I had a tortoise keeping me company throughout ( see pic). One of those rare occasions where I wasn’t the oldest guy in the band, sax player was 83 and played seated unless soloing when he stood up and rocked it. Material was a mix of ska / reggae / soul with a few pop standards thrown in as well. Well lubricated audience loved it, and we got fed and watered. Nice to play with people I’ve never worked with before, doing stuff I’ve not played before too. Tunes included ‘Lip up fatty’, You can get it if you really want’ , ‘My boy Lollipop’ and ‘Everything I own’. Finished by 8.30pm, home around 9.15 so fine with me.
  24. Oh no, why oh why did I click on this thread….. I’m happy with my V5, I’m happy with my v5, IM HAPPY WITH MY V5 😭
