  1. Past hour
  2. Well, finally got the bass back after a refret, plays nice.. however.... one part of the pickup needs a rewind, I'm getting zero output and a dodgy earth from it, so off to Kent Armstrong it goes...
  3. Had a few Artec pres in basses, currently have an SE2A on my fretless and an SE3P in my Zoot. They sound very good to me, prefer them to a lot of posher preamps. Centre frequencies are very musical, you'll need to shield the cavity properly as they can be noisy if that isn't done, once it's shielded they're silent however.
  4. I bought this to use as a backup whilst my old amp was being serviced. It’s a superb little unit. Bought new recently and rehearsed and gigged a couple of times since. Works as it ought to and is very powerful. I used it through my 8ohm cab and it was loud and punchy. It’s got some cosmetic surface scratches on the top but nothing terrible. Boxed with mains lead and manual (I think). I can post in the UK. PayPal please.

  5. Fane Sovereign 8” Speaker 225 watts 8 ohms. Excellent driver fitted briefly whilst my Yamaha speaker was being reconed. Great for bass or PA use. Boxed. Postage possible for an extra £5 - UK only.
  6. I bought the amps and cabs as one lot from @la bam of this parish as the basis for building things up - I didn't intentionally go for H & K. They're weighty beasts, but they do sound awesome. And putting the tops on the subs nicely deprives drunken punters of drinks tables 🙂
  7. Thanks. Will try and feed back
  8. Of all the things I don’t need but I really want 🤣 My favourite combo! I think these were about £1600 when new? Weigh about 72lb? I could have sworn mine went to 700w at 2Ohm? Lots of question marks, it’s been a while! Fabulous piece of kit. At £200 you could probably never need another bass rig. GLWTS.
  9. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  10. And so it shall be written, and so it shall be done... Now it has a kill switch. Right, top work everyone, let's get it back together and have a cup of tea... Only kidding, now I can't put off routing any longer...
  11. I've seen a lot of well attended local gigs the last month or so.
  12. I can lend you a butter knife and you could go at it like Jaco, if you like.
  13. Ha ha! And you're still Happy, Jack!
  14. It’s the age-old ‘what sounds good solo sounds shit in the mix’ and vice versa thing. The groove and timing in the track are extraordinary
  15. Yep - these are fantastic combos and at £200, and absolute bargain as you say @binky_bass. On top of everything else, the twin channels feature is so useful ; at gigs I used one channel to eq my 4sting bass and the other for my 5 string bass. I'm pretty sure I bought mine on here from @crez5150 about 2008/9 and I gigged it extensively across Sussex for a number of years. Happy days indeed! GLWTS 👍😊
  16. The guy who engineered the track reckons quite a bit of work was needed to 'fix' Flea's original track in the final mix. https://www.guitarworld.com/features/why-fleas-bass-track-had-to-be-fixed-in-the-mix-on-alanis-morissettes-hit-record Recollections tend to vary on these things, but he sounds plausible.
  17. It wasnt me - Shaggy
  18. There ain’t a problem I can’t fix Cos I can do it in the mix…. Reassuring that there’s a Flea bassline I can play as well as Flea 👍
  19. I don’t think so as the the CS logo on the back of the headstock is untouched
  20. Lovely gig at the Victory Club in Barton (on Humber) last night. Didn’t expect a packed house at this time of year so was shocked at the great attendance. Up and dancing from the second number in the first spot which was appreciated and made the gig fly by. The motorway gods were reasonably kind also as a threatened M180 closure failed to materialise - bonus. We’re continuing the East of England theme next week with an outdoor gig in Withernsea, hope the weather is compliant.
  21. This kit looks amazing, but may I ask you: what persuaded you to go the H & K route?
  22. I tried one of these out around 15 years ago and still strikes me as one of the best looking instruments I've seen. I could be tempted to buy or trade one of these if anybody was selling.
  23. I’ll have to withdraw on medical grounds unless my neurologist pulls his finger out and gives me an appointment unmedicated I am not allowed to drive too far. He’s isn’t quite sure but suspects a form of narcolepsy and has put it all off “until the next appointment” which is yet to be booked
  24. This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers
  25. Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK
  26. The one in The Gallery is a nice thing. I tried it the other day. Thin neck, nice tone, looks the part. My reservation is that I think it might be a bit pricey for what it is. But I guess the gallery has overheads that we don't. Your shortscale will undoubtedly be nicer to play, and what with these both being quite 'thumpy' semi acoustic basses, I doubt the scale length will make any real diff to the tone. GLWTS!
