  1. Past hour
  2. I've seen some very funny writeups from Japanese sellers before, but this one takes the cake. Not a Jackson fan, only one or two worse headstocks made, not much of a Fender fan, either but the binding is pickup is nice.
  3. I can include a John East J-Tone 01 preamp with is bass, if that piques anyone’s interest. The preamp is only partly functional, since I managed to snap off the brass stem of the treble control. Since I only used the J-Tone to boost the bass, this was not a problem for me. To be able to use the bridge pickup with a good degree of bass boost was a revelation. If you’re interested, let me know. No increase in price for the inclusion of the preamp.
  4. Given a choice of those two, I'd go for an OC-5. In fact, I did!
  5. Empty On The Inside - The Mohrs
  6. That is a very good idea! I need to see how nice I can make the rout (probably going with copper foil tape) and luckily, I can make one at work with the laser cutter... sounds like a plan. It's gone to the local luthier for it's refinish - he is going to do a very subtle darkening of the grain and wood before it's refinish so will see how it comes out.
  7. For me the only significant advantage of the Stadium over the standard Helix is Showcase. I'll wait until it is included and I can see if it's actually going to be any use to me.
  8. Seeing as the routing is quite neat, what about your previous idea of a clear scratchplate like on your Ray35 so the grain isn't covered up by a massive expanse of black plastic?
  9. Depends on whats to do after. Check out the heat gun approach on youtube.
  10. The one that was cancelled was from Manchester to Carmarthen... Which caused me to miss the connection in Shrewsbury to the little max 2 carriage train you mention - that's the Heart of Wales line to Swansea and there's only 4 a day!
  11. I reckon its poly, its a recent enough budget bass, an LTD PJ type bass.
  12. Looks like AI spurted out the guitar size here, either that or its one of those Uke basses
  13. Is the existing finish poly or nitro?
  14. He's had the Ibanez double a while - there are twitter posts from 2015 for example
  15. PRICE REDUCTION - £25 shipped or £20 pickup in person. Hi Folks, Flyht Pro 1U Rack Drawer 27.5cm wide x 25cm deep for sale. I bought this directly from Thomann as B-Stock and had overlooked its dimensions so I immediately tried to return it to them but they just issued me a refund as it wasn't worth the environmental impact of shipping it across Europe, apparently. I didn't even screw it in once during its time with me so it appears to be completely brand new to my eyes. Nice smooth action on the drawer. You're welcome to come and pick it up IRL from Petersfield, Hampshire, England or I can ship it to you for an extra £5 (which would be a total of £25). Happy to meet you somewhere local to Petersfield or arrange a fuel contribution from you if you need it driving a little further. Feel free to fire over any questions you may have. Cheers, B
  16. Today
  17. (Im)patiently waiting for my Stadium XL from Andertons. It seems most of us wanted an earlier release, rather than waiting for Showtime to be included. Now to appear in v1.2
  18. Back to the Cavern in Tamworth - Pitchers has now gone by the wayside. As I've just bought another bass, I've decided to thin the herd, and one of the candidates for thinning is the Esh Poseidon V which I never take out because it's valuable. However, I regularly take out the valuable Seis, and the valuable new bass will also get taken out, so I dragged it out and put in a new battery. Aside from the fact it's got tapewounds on it (they're black so they look cool but I really don't like the feel), it's lovely, so it gets to stay. The girls still don't have a bassist, so I stood in, but one potential player came along last night to watch rather than to play so they may be sorted out now.
  19. Dammit, he makes headlesses too! Retro me Satane!
  20. Wow, I’ve been thinking about getting a 5/er Precision and they are few and fat between, and that is stunning 👍
  21. I remember back in the early 90s I walked the Tour de Mont Blanc with my girlfriend... We carried a tent, and food/clothes for 7 days - being fit we managed the 100+ miles in 4 days but we'd sweated like pigs as it was also warm. When we got back to Chamonix we looked for gifts for folks, a friend of ours was well into Reblochon so we bought her a decent lump. As we were going home on the coach I'd put on my lightweight shoes for the journey back so the only safe place to put the Reblochon was in my mountain boot (the one I'd been wearing for 25+ very sweaty miles per day) in my pack. The nearly 24 hour journey was accomplished in sweltering heat - 30+C - so we naturally worried a bit about the cheese. However, there was nothing we could do... When we got back the cheese had melted into the shape of my boot, but we stuck it in the fridge and gave it to our friend the following day. A week later we saw her and she thanked us effusively for the cheese- "it's the best I've ever had!" she said.
  22. so the Boss OC-5 is "better" than the OC-2 fair call?
  23. The barrel jack is plugged into a socket on the vol control and is easily removable. Undoing the nut is still a pita though.
