  5. Cassette? Eee you were lucky to have a cassette, when I were a lad we had t'make do with a scratched 78, handed down 3rd hand from local brass band. We 'ad to play it using our own finger nails, whilst balancing t'on a broken knitting needle, and used a hollowed out cow horn for sounds. Cow weren't t'happy as it was still attached t'horn. Sometimes it didn't even have t'right tune on so we 'ad to learn a whole new song t'wrong words.
  6. Bass collection getting too big to fit so thinning out the herd. Up for sale my Yamaha TRB6P (1st generation). Great classic bass guitar from Yamaha's hey days in the late 80s early 90s. 6 string neck through design 5 piece neck maple body Alnico humcancelling coils Piezo 34'' scale (I believe technically it's 33 7/8). No trades please. Happy to meet in London or Spain (Madrid/Valencia). This is my feedback link - have sold many high priced items in here IMG_5785.HEICIMG_5786.HEICIMG_5787.HEICIMG_5788.HEICIMG_5789.HEICIMG_5805.HEIC
  7. Paid up old fogey here... back in the day when the best you could hope for was a cassette of the setlist.
  8. I'm just working out the rear dual Speakon port. This has two speakon ports in a recessed metal plate. It needs soldering together but I can do that now. Do I need to seal the plate in place? e.g. put something around the edges where it will fit into the back board? Do I need to seal the Speakon connectors as well. There's a tiny gap around the edges where the ports screw in. Should I be making the cab basically as air tight as possible? If so then I'll put a bead of sealant around everything where air can get out. Now sure how far to go with sealing everything. Thanks Rob
  9. Fab stuff, Chaps! 🙏👌 I'm in.... 👍😊
  10. The guy was a real " peice of work". I'll try and find a pic of the band. Daryl
  11. Quick update - used the iPad to record the weekend gig and lo and behold, it worked ! Big learning curve ahead to get the best out of Cubasis but I managed to get a track created earlier which sounds decent to me Hedonism v2 1.wav
  12. That's a bit tasty! Sadly I don't have a kidney to spare but GLWTS
  13. Expect this post to be edited several times! We're going to hold the next SE Bass Basheroonie on 11th October 2026. Same venue as the 2025, St Sebastian's Memorial Hall, Crowthorne, Berkshire. Similar timings - 11.00am to 5.00pm, although we didn't seem to have any issue getting in a bit earlier. Again, we'll hire the whole site. And, once again to confirm, the site has decent parking, good connections with M3/M4. Closest rail connection is Crowthorne (which is on the Guildford > Reading branch line) or Wokingham (Waterloo > Reading). Hopefully, no engineering works scheduled this time around! Main entry to the site is off Nine Mile Ride, the exit is off Honey Hill to the rear of the hall. On the subject of parking, please be sensible - no double space malarkey just because you have a big Mercedes. This is the place: Map below. ++++++++++++++ BASIC POOP: ENTRY/RE-ENTRY We're proposing the usual £10.00 entry per person. CASH PLEASE. No cards, Paypal, body parts or sexual favours. You'll get a sticker. Write your name on it and wear it. RAFFLE We're hoping to do a raffle of some sort if we have enough donations. SELLING Of course, you'll be able to use the event for selling your unwanted stuff. Right now we're undecided whether it'll be best to have a dedicated sale table or whether to just have each member simply piling their stuff up next to their equipment. (As it's a village hall, there should be tables a plenty.) It is not the responsibility of the organisers to provide cashing services, please sort out your own transactions on the day (ie cash/bank transfer/PayPal). Please make sure whatever you're selling works and is labelled and priced, please. ATTENDANCE Please note (as usual), this is a private event open to Basschat members and their guest(s), and we will categorically not be letting any local oiks in. It goes without saying, please be vigilant. WEAR YOUR STICKER! VOLUME This is a two room village hall. PLEASE respect your volume and be considerate of other members around you. Yes, we all know you're proud of your earth-shaking SVT and 8x10 fridge, but this is a small hall and 300w of valve-powered bass tone is going to melt the face off the guy next to you, so please try to restrain your rig. When the talks are going on in the main room. please refrain from cranking it in the side room because, as proven in 2025, the sound travels. HMMM, SOCKETS The 2025 event seemed to be fine, but there did seem to be a lack of electric sockets. Please bring a multi-plug extension cable. WHAT'S THAT BASS? Sadly the blind bass shoot-out didn't happen in 2025, so I'm hoping it'll happen in 2026. More information on this to follow. OTHER SHIZZ Be respectful of other member's equipment...no unplugging anything if it's not yours. Also, the hall seems to be in an area colloquially referred to as a not-spot; mobile coverage is frankly terrible. You would think the location was In Guezzam Province, Algeria, rather than a few miles east of Reading. That said, In Guezzam Province probably has a larger population than Crowthorne. If you want to pay people for purchases by Paypal, you may struggle. In closing, we're obviously looking to break even on the outlay and make a profit from this. @prowla and I agreed in 2025 that any proceeds over our costs will go to COATs (Crowthorne Old Age & Teens) of Crowthorne, where I volunteer weekly. COATs have a well run shop, a lovely day centre on the edge of the village and they run a couple of mini-buses to get the oldsters to hospital and for day trips. The whole place is volunteer run, even the top line people. It's a great cause. There's no need to form an orderly queue or anything at this juncture. Cheers Paul @NancyJohnson Paul @prowla Gary @cetera
  14. I’m up against mr travis and his all-consuming GEAR maw no chance, I see that bass being dragged to a Manchester address, probably leaving scratch marks on the pavement as it is sucked in like some poor dachshund caught in a wizard of Oz style tornado Briefly. 😛 I Wish I could buy this. GLWTS
  15. Blockheads - Ian Dury & the Blockheads

  17. Wow, did you find what was making the creaking noise
  18. It's how you find out who your mates are.
  19. I don't know about a Zon but in 2009 I despatched an attacker at a wedding gig with an NS5-XL. Neck through, solid maple wings, Haz pre-amp. Proper weapon. I missed the Middle 8 but the keys guy covered me with some tasty left hand work.
  20. These little cabs are ridiculously good aren't they!
  21. Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
  22. Bump it down to £800 if anyone is willing to take this beast on.
