  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed - and it doesn't seem entirely honest to say 'we are doing this last ever tour in only these couple of places, which is why the tickets cost the price of your house' and then 'oh well, there was a demand, we are going to do lots of other places too'.
  3. Yeah, I’ve used 6 in the past and it’s a much nicer room than 8. I’ve moaned about those speakers for a few years but they always say no one else has complained and can’t hear anything wrong with them. One is definitely lacking high end compared to the other. We used to use the same speakers in my old band and i know they could handle keys fine. I’ve used Mill Hill for many years on and off, but always took my owners rig. Now I’m at the mercy of the PA i hate going there.
  4. OK, unfortunately i could not see the photos when i first read the listing, (something i experience a lot on this site for some reason), and was assuming that two channel meant two inputs and two outs. Now i can see the pictures and single jack input. 🫣
  5. If I was the dedicated Rush fan in say Detroit, San Antonio or Montreal and had already shelled out my $$$ for a gig in Chicago, Fort Worth or Toronto, I'd probably be using a stronger word than "silly"
  6. Bought from geoff90guitar from here - I've had a fret level, and had the edges rounded off (though Reverend claim a plex process, the ends were still bit rough and not to the exacting specs of my luthier pal) also replaced the nut with a new bone nut - and set up with TI flats - so spent a bit of it so just asking for what i paid and put into it but still huge saving so price set to sell - it's just not for me and have just bought a lovely P off here (i'm just traditional it seems) See small body ding in pics Big, deep and punchy with excellent clarity is the calling card of the Mercalli. The innovative passive pickups have that vintage warmth, while the five-piece neck and high mass bridge deliver modern punch and sustain! Just had full set up and fret level with fret edges smoothed off and brand new bone nut. TI flats on it too with low action but no buzzing - small ding pictured Very ergonomic to play and only 8lb in weight so very easy in the shoulder SPECS BODY Korina Solidbody PICKUPS Thick Brick Bridge, Split Brick Neck BRIDGE String-thru-body or Top-load, 3/4" spacing NECK 5-Piece Maple/Walnut, Satin Amber Finish SCALE 34" NECK PROFILE Medium Oval FINGERBOARD Roasted Maple or Rosewood, 12" Radius FRETS 21 - 0.110"W x 0.050"H TRUSS ROD Dual Action, Headstock Access TUNERS Hipshot Ultralight, 1/2" Dia. 7. Bought as back up. Had luthier do a fret level - has run glue under frets so all frets “ping” and the edges of frets have been rounded off. Plays great with rounded board edges, sounds fab but just sat in a bag at mo. So really should be played. Fine a few gigs with it - set up with GHS pressurewounds The colour is very nice - 👌 poss trade for Jack Cassady or semi hollow but prefer long scale can box and ship at buyers expense- happy to organise or come meet near Clitheroe

  8. Also Music Street in Huntingdon….top notch folks!
  9. Thanks, I have to agree!
  10. Hardly, they must be up to a few million dollars by now.
  11. I`d not heard of these til your post above, just checked them out briefly via YouTube and they sound very similar to the Elixir nickel rounds I use.
  12. Worth rewatching Some Kind of Monster to realise that band issues are often beyond even the best psychologists! All joking aside, don't ever become the band's therapist, you will end up hating them all
  13. That`s a shame Dave, we use Room 6 if we can get it which isn`t too bad.
  14. No idea on whether this is good price or not and no affiliation in any way but my local music shop has a 96/97 Growler for sale 🤷‍♂️ https://www.soundpad.co.uk/pre-owned/guitars/bass-guitars/tobias-growler-gr4
  15. Cables and assorted items arrived fast and in good condition. Would absolutely purchase from again.
  16. It's a floating bridge, there's little labour involved in sliding it into position. Stick a wee bit of that thin polystyrene packing cloth under the wooden base to avoid scratching the top 👍
  17. HPW said mine was bubinga too until i asked him to look again. Afzelia Was the standard wood for Thumbs from this time...
  18. I've always loved the Italia basses since they came out in about 2009-10(?) Very individual and distinctive. A lot of players seem to really like them too.
  19. Today
  20. Aaaaaahhhh.... sorry just got there. It was a late night Thursday...
  21. Yes, that's a very good point. These are a continuation of the "assembled in USA" basses, which started with the original American Special and Highway One models, so the necks could well be from the Mexican Ensenada plant. I know they've streamlined their neck production, so that even the American Ultra II now has the nut-based truss rod and the skunk stripe nowadays. It's a shame, as the stuff they were making around 2016-2020 was far superior. It's the old premium brand game; streamline production to cut costs, thus giving you less and charging you more for it.
  22. It's really interesting so far. I've volunteered for years with Age Concern and it's an extension of that. I just think that there has to be more to life than chasing ever diminishing amounts of cash. And being in bands is probably the best thing in the world for learning how to deal with conflict, awkward characters and trauma!
