  2. That is power put to the speaker, if they were running flat out with a constant signal. so the only way that would be the source is if your system was 100% efficient which is impossible. You are putting far less power out in volume, but using more input than a 1:1 to input power to output power. Seems a lot - how many liights do you have? ok, that is a better way of working it out, so about 800W for that?
  3. Confession time - I also have a Danelectro Longhorn ( okay 29 and 3/4 “ scale) which is never going to leave me, so that makes 3 shorties really. I’m currently trying to reduce my bass / amp collection, and just concentrate on keeping stuff that gets used. ( Oh yeh, also forgot the Ibanez PNB14E acoustic - that’s 25”, and Fender Kingman 30”). 😁
  4. Quite clearly says £5600 in the title!
  5. I'm watching this video again, right now and the sounds IMA is getting out of his (world class?) bass and (ditto) chops & feel with this MXR Synth pedal is surely, world class, because these preset sounds are very very close to the recorded versions of the tracks he helped design it, to emulate. I agree with some that it's better when he is on his own, but then that's almost true whenever you get two Americans together on YouTube, unless one of them is Rick Beato 😬. I definitely want one, but the price is not for everyone!
  6. 🤣 Classic. This thread is making me think twice about being so enthusiastic for wedding band work!
  7. This would be worth a cheap experiment if you want mids, stock incoming according to them... https://www.armstrongmusic.co.uk/products/bcu-active-onboard-tone-expander-guitar-pot-upgrade
  8. The last band I left I truthfully said that I just wasn't getting the buzz from rehearsals that I should be getting (it hadn't got to the point of gigging), and it was accepted gracefully. Unfortunately in the next few weeks two other members also quit and I think the whole thing collapsed.
  9. £350? Open to swaps if needed: Boss Katana 210 Ashdown abm IV 600w. Laney Digbeth rig.
  10. Those RW necks are maple cap, which in my experience gives a very distinctive top-end aggression to the tone. Fender used maple cap necks on the UK Slab basses in the 60s, if you weren't already aware! That's one killer bass you have there, give me a shout if you feel like moving it on 😆

  12. Hi all, I'm selling my Radial Bigshot I/O, as I've managed to acquire an EBS Microbass which does much the same kind of thing. Excellent condition and full working order, without original box. Looking for £80 £70 posted in the UK, or collection from Leeds https://www.radialeng.com/product/bigshot-io

  14. Yeah I resisted the idea for years…maybe an unconsciously “macho” viewpoint?…but it makes sense: easy to play, still very good projection and no sore fingers. If they were Spiros instead of dominant I’d have kept them. My other bass is a slightly shorter scale and I heard dominants prefer a regular scale
  15. Literally just bought an OEM Hofner one, but thanks for all your hard work on YT and the podcast - I don't imagine trying to make a living from it can be as easy as it might look.
  16. Your ad says it has Nordstrand pickups and then Delano pickups with the pictures showing white Delano pickups. I assume it doesn't have Nordstrands then? Or were the stock pickups Nordstrand and included in the sale?
  17. Mine has been despatched from Sweden today. Expected on 1/9 😀
  18. Musicians are mad people. I recently did a well paid wedding gig and the saxophone player turned up late because his roast wasn’t ready in time and he was hungry. Nearly cost us a lot of money and it also included a free meal. Which he ate.
  19. Yes absolutely. My 932A are rated 2100W so at rms that would be 1100W at max But we have them set at 6/8 and they are apparently pretty linear so on that basis 825W a piece = 1,650W in total. Lights are LEDs so perhaps another 250W there? So maybe 3.8kW over two hours on that basis? Although we did a 2hr outdoor gig, daytime - no lights, with a provided battery (quite a pricey one!) rated 2000 watt hours and barely used 40% of the battery. So not getting my sums right somewhere!
  20. I took this in a trade recently but as I already have one this is up for sale This bass is from 2004 and is in excellent condition. It has the 10/90 neck with the most beautiful flame maple. The neck is very thin and the fretwork is excellent. The body has an ash core with really thick flame maple caps, front and back. Bass is all original with no issues. Kahler bridge, Schaller machine heads and Benedetti single coil pickups Vigier 18v preamp. It comes in a semi-hard case which will protect in transit Weight is 3.7kgs Just recently strung with Ernie Ball's 45-105 Postage is included in the price, no trades and asking price is firm

  21. Oops!! N/OBD courtesy of @Dood. Currently wifey is set to flamethrower mode 🫣

  22. That would be flat out with a sine wave or something going through it. Chance are it would be a 10th of that. However, for a gig, two PA speakers, mixer, pedalboards, its going to add up, especially as gigging in the cold will be less than that total value. Its going to be a 'how long is a piece of string' question, that depends on your setup. Set everything up through a power measurment plug and play for 10 minutes, multiply by 12 and see what you get!
  23. Can't be doing with big drum kits, unless said drummer is of a serious Cobham/Chambers etc standard. Should learn to use snare, hi-hat and bass drum properly first!
