  1. Past hour
  2. "You mean you want to beat the living daylights out of it with a metal pick and make people's ears bleed..?" "Yeeeaaah..."
  3. I do admit that sometimes tabs - even they are complex to read to me - may help with fingerings. It is interesting to see, how someone else is understanding and taming the fretboard.
  4. I would also say, very much like his dad who also effortlessly flowed melodically around the fretboard, tastefully and always serving the song.
  5. You are very welcome and I am super happy you appreciated it, thank you John does have quite an extensive back catalogue and he never submitted his performance right for a lot of tracks so there's probably more recordings of him that we are not aware off.

You'll be fine with one litre.
  7. They are absolutely fine on trad large tuners. Just not on mini tuners like Ibanez use. Will be fine on a JMJ.
  8. It was grim, I had a nasty bout of vertigo while setting up and a few wobbles while playing. I gad no idea the whole world would start warping and whirling round an hour after the gig!
  9. I can't read pitch from a traditional score without great difficulty. But as I can read rhythm fairly well I find I can site read many songs from that sort of advanced tab including chsnhing to my preferred fingerings on the fly.
  10. Had a good rehearsal last night, but one of my guitarists still thinks it's the 70s. Small Marshall combo with a stack of Gain and drive pedals. Sound was good when playing (although really too heavy for most of our songs), but my god the noise when we stopped. Its sounded like there was a rain storm in the studio. I just dont get how he (or anyone else) can have that sort of noise when not playing. I have all the answers to how he can stop it, and if I ask him (got to the point where I was telling him) to turn if off he would, but totally clueless to the fact that he needed to. Even worse, I was the only one that this bothered. Dreading the next gig.
  11. I Had A Dream - AᗺBA
  12. I Dreamed A Dream - Susan Boyle
  13. Re-listing an item that I previously withdrew: Convenient passive mini volume pedal that can also be used as an expression pedal. In great condition, price includes postage. No original box but will be boxed up securely. Message me if you have any questions.
  14. Repeats, Sine, Codas etc. It's the accepted way of reducing the repetition in the chart itself but, with my approach, I am writing EXACTLY what is being played so repetition is often not exact so, unless it is identical, I don't use repeats/sines/Codas etc. Sometimes I do, if the repeats are exactly the same but, with Jazz tunes, this is rarely the case. As for notes, key signatures can be as much as a hindrance as a help when there are loads of chromatic phrases and changing keys. I just got out of the habit of alloting key signatures. It's something I need to think about more carefully.
  15. Duff's intro bass part on Sweet Child Of Mine. Loads on that. Everything Type O Negative ever did. I swear Pete Steel played Chorus as the instrument and just used a bass to do it. It's a funny effect. Used badly and it just makes everything sound like crap Jaco or generic rock from 1985.
  16. This thread reminded me of my own garage conversion project last year. I struggled with that same hollow echo until I tried the acoustic slat wood wall panels from Decor & Decor. I started with just a few samples in walnut on the long wall and was amazed at how much it cut down on the noise and even made the room feel a bit cozier. Once I saw the difference, I added matching panels on the opposite side and it really transformed the space into a liveable studio, and it helped keep the room warmer, too. If you’re after a straightforward solution that looks great and works well, those panels might be worth a try
  17. I like a lot of their pedals. Never had any trouble with them. I had that amp too, no problems for me but I didn't like the Tube Tone drive sound. Was neither tube sounding or more modern and it needed a completely different EQ setting for the drive being on or off. I liked the concept though. It just needed doing properly!
  18. Competition prize! Nice. I never win anything! Just a tip though - It's a "Sterling" with an E. I'm not being spelling police it's just that if someone is using the forum search function to see if there is one on sale the incorrect spelling might not show your post in the search results. I know this from experience - I once got a set of very expensive Lollar pickups on ebay for about a third of their value and I suspect the wrong spelling of the item helped hide it from other bidders - I was the only bidder.
  19. Man, chorus live is like magic when it hits right. Adds that dreamy wobble and spacey vibe, especially killer on moody tunes or when you’re doing melodic fills
  20. Sold a 3Leaf pedal to Dan this week. A real pleasure to deal with. Many thanks
  21. I'd take either 🤦‍♂️
  22. Today
  23. I was watching a YT review of a Bass Fly Rig and the reviewer said he could not do without chorus. I lovr the sound of chorus but how well does it work live, and on what type of song?
  24. I've had this album a few years now. https://brotherly-whirlwind.bandcamp.com/album/analects
  25. Dude you’ve been through it. Bursitis and vestibular neuritis? At a gig?? That’s some hardcore musician stamina right there. Glad you got through the worst of it
