  2. Here's my entry for this month's BC compo compo... In order to be as authentic as poss I should have bought an old Fender through a big valve amp, then mixed everything using tape delays and valve mixing desks and whatever else. However, as I have none of that stuff, just a Sandberg bass, a Helix, an Impulse keyboard and battered Squier Strat plus Ableton on a PC and a host of VSTs and plug-ins. But I did play the bassline in 1 with no further overdubs so that might be a touch authentic!
  3. Hi all, Selling my Boss WL-20l as no longer required. This is the 'L' version which does not have the cable tone simulation, with attentuates the high end a little. This version I'm selling gives you the full blooded sound of your bass. It's about a year old, has never been overcharged or allowed to go flat, and I find I get around 2 gigs out of the system when charged (which takes about 2-3 hours to top back up) Price is £70 posted. See my feedback thread + feel free to ask any questions! Thanks for looking!
  4. I don't have any holes for anything to fit in. It's the wheel bit that's missing.
  5. Interesting discussion @Reggaebass and @SumOne As I get older I find myself craving what, for want of a better word, I call authenticity. I speak not of composition but more of the sound. Real instruments played live in a ratty old studio. For reggae and some other musical genres, it's a vital part of the experience
  6. Are you sweating awaiting the outcome?
  7. Who would like to join me in Tribe "don't be a d!ck"? It's an aspirational tribe...
  8. Pretty sure I have a Mark Bass Bass Keeper kicking around. These are £22 new and I will throw this in. Like this (pic from the web, not mine)
  9. £146 for a US Fender, must be genuine
  10. Just have to give this a play every now and then
  11. Alas the weight is too much for me. Ah well, at least I haven't risked divorce.
  12. Sometimes it’s worth stepping away from the internet, isn’t it.
  13. Would likely take an interesting swap for this. I was hoping to use the money towards a short scale ACG, but also in the market for a Jazz, preferably a Flea signature in pink if there's any going round. Send me a PM, always up for a chat!
  14. the ham on yestetdays epsiode 😆😆😆
  15. The Berg HD range includes some of finest cabs I’ve used. Build quality is superb, though that’s to be expected. There’s a solidity and articulacy to the tone that I haven’t experienced with anything else. Excellent pro cabs all round
  16. Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
  17. PRICE DROP NOW £220!!! Here’s my TC Electronic RH450 in used condition. Everything works perfectly - this is a proper workhorse of an amplifier, and small/light enough to use as a backup when gigging. Collect from Chesterfield (5 mins from M1 J29) or I can post for an additional £15. Cheers! Sam

  19. Yes, I posted this last night, so will sort some out later. There’s one small barely noticeable mark on the bass.
  20. Today
  21. Think you misread, I simply meant the outrage of the presenter is part of the marketing, and why we’re all here talking about it, hence the Wilde quote 👍 But either way, ouch 😆
  22. I'd recommend low-tack masking tape, having once peeled off some varnish on the edge of an old maple board. If you only have regular tape run it across your t-shirt first, it may work! I normally use 0000 wire wool followed, by Duraglit or Brasso
  23. This and your subsequent post above is very true. We are becoming increasingly jaded and in search of instant gratification and something that isn't (and cannot be) there.
  24. Late response, but I have the bag, all 3 of the EVOs fit.
  25. Looks like someone heard about an 'oiled finish' and assumed that meant the stuff that dribbles out of the sump of their '98 diesel Astra.
