  2. Lies! It's me - I'm a part-time T-bag model.
  3. Tube versus SS watts has been covered here ad nauseam to the extreme. I'm sure you're just trying to be helpful but what you're saying has been covered here in detail going back over dozens of threads for as long as this forum has existed.
  4. Thanks Crazycloud. That’s exactly what worries me, especially with the Thumb.
  5. You’ll be fine. I’ve got 2 wicks with bell brass frets and a couple of basses with stainless steel ones, and I only use D’addario XL nickels, no worries at all. I’ve used stainless steel strings a couple of times and I don’t think you need to worry about excessive fret wear.
  6. Putting up my natural gloss Spector CST5 . I’ve got two of these wonderful basses and one of them isn’t getting enough playing time .Bought in October 2024 from Bassdirect it’s had minimal use and is in fantastic condition. It’s a stock bass so comes with EMGX pickups in a PJ configuration with Darkglass legacy preamp . Also a Spector gigbag is included. Would consider a trade . MTD , Status or similar 5 strings. No fanned fret as I already have a Dimension 5
  7. Aye it is me after a small stone nano but the one with gun metal grey and red chassis. Appreciate the heads up. 👍
  8. For sale is my Keeley Bassist, a highly rated, transparent and easy to use compressor. Excellent condition. Supplied in box, £120 including UK postage.

  9. This is a cheap experiment for now, Dunlop flats are £80 !
  10. Superb price for such a capable bass.
  11. @kuetsum I enjoyed the laughing emoji. You know me well enough that pedal discipline has been, shall we say, lax. In 2025 I have actually sold more pedals than I've bought, which is the first time since 2020. It's not really enough to join the gear abstinence thread but it's a start!
  12. I remember swapping out the screws on my Terror Bass head, i think they were M3 but unfortunately i don't have the amp anymore to check, from memory they were about 8mm long or so, i fitted hex socket head screws as that was what i had to hand. Matt
  13. Done Essex to Glasgow and back in a day for a Gibson J200 once. Also did Essex to San Francisco for a Conklin 9 string, but that was over a weekend.
  14. BLACK HARDWARE GOOOO!!!
  15. My preference has always been the Thomastik Jazz Flats of the 43-100 variety. I like the low tension, as you can actually bend them and play dynamically. They feel a quite similar tension to the Elixir 40-95 set I have on the American Performer Mustang. I just put the Thomastik set on my Vintera II Mustang, as the previous owner had put the usual LaBella DTFs on, which just killed all of its character and sound - the LaBella E-string was previously sending the tone into a deep pit of durge and despair!
  16. By any chance was it this Mapleglo at GG in Glasgow? The neck thickness is one thing (I play a lot of Warwicks, and so don't mind thin), but the setup on this particular bass in the Glasgow shop was complete sh*t... look at the bridge saddle positions! They wouldn't be in more of a straight line if you used a ruler. Intonation was way off. String heights were also way off (in my opinion). Why would GG hang such a poorly setup bass on the wall? That said, it is a beautiful instrument. Schaller machine heads and strap locks, single truss rod, new bridge system. The knobs on the 2025 4003 (all of them?) are just a wee bit smaller than on my 2023 4003 (which has 1" x 0.6" knobs).
  17. That’s me. I'm a part-time T shirt model.
  18. I know I can get the job done no matter what gear I'm using, but I definitely enjoy it more, and consequentially play better, when the sound is good. Also if you manage to put together a great signal chain, the rest of the band will think it's you playing better!! You gotta tick as many boxes as you can.
  19. TC Electronic Vortex Flanger Mini with power adaptor and original packaging. If I remember rightly, this has the Mark King 'Sweet Minger' Tone Print onboard. Excellent condition, barely used. £50 inc postage to anywhere in the UK or Ireland.
  20. Moneys Too Tight To Mention - Simply Red
  21. Flipping heck, off to eBay I go! looks amazing!
  22. It's a new hybird headless design for those who haven't quite decided if they like the idea or not. Some of the parts of the tuners are on the bridge lol..
  23. Not really. 5 tuners, 2 of those floating, and 3 tuning pegs. Mutant
  24. In fairness, it's not a proper bass as it has 5 strings. 😀
  25. Don't do yourself down, I'm sure it's that your gear still needs upgrading
