Thank you. Seems the design is not right, unsurprisingly. I looked at the circuit analysis. I'm new to this software but perhaps the report for one tone switch on, and one off is maybe showing both pickups being pulled through the cap. Ok. So I need to work out how to make them work independently. Learning is fun, for a while, then I'll ask for help.

I played the jazz version at New Kings Road and honestly didn’t understand the hype at all. I AB’d it with a real ‘63 and they were nothing alike.

Gave it a proper razz in a band context last night - it's gud. Plenty poke, and the tone control being half way thing still applies - up at 10 it's a bit too much, and to be honest it's not quite the right frequencies to be cutting through, but that might have been because I was going through an ancient Behringer 4x10 with a knackered tweeter. Also, new knobs arrived, because it's worth it. Not worried a jot that they're gold tops, it's a wonky bass, innit? -

The only thing stopping me buying one of these is the lack of a tuner. If anyone here has the Roland account, can you do me a favour and ask if a tuner will be included in a future update? Thanks!🙏🏼

Timescale depends on how long it takes to reach the minimum order quantity, fabrication will take a month after the orders are recieved. The heel can't been pre-drilled because the location of the holes depend very much on where the holes in the body are located and different basses may have holes that are out by a fraction of a millimetre - which matters when it comes to the neck. However, inserts and neck bolts will be included. Drilling the holes is relatively straight forward if you have brad pointed drill bits, clamps and a drill press. Just install the neck in the body pocket, make sure it's a good fit against the longer side of the neck pocket and mark the holes by putting a drill bit or something pointy and the same diameter as the holes. Then just twist so the end makes a mark in the heel and then transfer the neck to a drill press, clamp it securely and drill out the mark with a brad pointed drill bit that almost matches the diameter of the inserts. Then screw the inserts until flush, add a blob of superglue to each and install the neck in the body. -

Very nice bass. I had an identical Squire JV Jazz Bass that I bought new in 1983. It was a lovely bass that, with the balance of hindsight, I should have kept. I could have had forty+ years good service out of it and I'm sure I'd still enjoy playing it now. It was the bass I made my most important progress on in learning to play and will always have a special place in my heart. These were considered very good affordable basses at the time, I suppose the equivalent of something like a Sire bass nowadays, but no one remotely suspected they would ever become desirable vintage guitars in their own right. I expect the fact that they were pretty faithful reproductions of old Fender basses with attention to detail is what has made them special.

I have had real trouble with a TC Mic Mechanic alongside a Zoom B2 Four, On the same power lines there is a high pitched wine (Chateau Neuf Du Pape?). I had the same problem with the B1 Four and the Mic Mechanic. I must get the 'scope out and see whether the Mic Mechanic puts noise the powerline.

Not had a chance to check it out fully yet but I'll report back if anything untoward occurs.

Finally got an answer to this problem from Line 6. Seems like it is a known software bug which the development team are aware of. It would appear that this has been known about for quite some time but they have done nothing about it. Their suggestion was to try a different PC, so I instlled the software onto Mrs OBBM's laptop and it worked just fine. My HX One is now up to date. 🙂

Love playing that on bass. We do this in my main band where im not on bass, and the bass player plays the verses back to front. Won't have it that its wrong, because 'no one has ever said anything' 🤔

Do you have any problems with noise? I often find that using a digital pedal on that same supply as analogue pedals can induce noise on the power lines.

My work here is done - for now. Having considered putting an HX Stomp on my board I finally opted for an HX One on the basis that I rarely use effects and then only one at a time. Also swapped out the Mooer baby tuner for a Boss TU-2. It all runs from a battery.
