  1. Past hour
  2. out of interest @BigRedX - as well as getting it to work with your setup - how do you find it sounds?
  3. Funky pop from the 80s Pointer Sisters - Dare me | Welton Gite
  4. I had the Mesa Subway D800 and it didn't seem particularly oomphy compared with my Quilter and a Magellan 800 that I had at the time. I found it a bit dark and flubby sounding. Gigged it twice and moved it on. But everyone's ears are different 🙂
  5. if you haven't already try Bassbros or Bassdirect, i'm sure they'll move this on for £4k
  6. This is usually the sticking point for a lot of bands. The other is getting the middle aged blokes with instruments to believe in the end product. It's frustrating if the end product is slick, but is let down when the drummer has a scowl on and is thinking his time would be better spent drinking pints of Carling down at the Spoons. Personally I would do a dry run. Get a mate to come to an rehearsal room. Get the band to wear what they're planning to wear. Video a 'live' warts and all performance. Mistakes don't matter. Then watch the resulting car crash back and work out how to improve it. At this point aforementioned drummer will realise how good even a rough video is and get his wife to iron his best shirt. There is nothing worse than looking like a bunch of misfits having paid a lot of money for the privilege.
  7. A really great Mexican P bass from Fender! Bought new from Andertons in 2021 for a handful of gigs, and has been my backup P bass for a couple of years, but has spent most of its life on a guitar rack or in a case. All original apart from the Schaller strap locks (black). No case. Collection only from SW London.

  9. Yep that's what I'm going to do
  10. Guitars? I thought everyone associated Hofner with this. Never saw anyone playing a Hofner guitar.
  11. On the other hand I've never seen a 'name' band toting a Dingwall, for example, and the only Warwick player on my radar ever is/was Zender. Before the inevitable deluge, yes I'm sure there are multiple examples to prove my ignorance but that's the point But Hofner is a brand I'd associate more with guitars, more with jazz, and more with players on the continent - not so much the Anglosphere.
  12. Now priced at £275 until midday Friday (my cut-off for going to the Post Office before Christmas). I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. I'm selling a Doom 2 in Jade Metallic finish. It's from the September 2023 release of 100 pedals and has been given the 'high gain' mod by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The mod makes it a little harsher and more abrasive than the standard gain units but it gets synthy and still has the Doom 2 magic. The mod was originally aimed at guitar players so I'm pricing it at £320 £300 on here. Cosmic Metallic pedal sold. Original ad retained for transparency: Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) SOLD and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.
  13. Phooaarr!! 🥰
  14. Yeah, I was looking at the Ashdown RM 500 EVO III but wondered if the Mesa is on-brand and punches above the 350w rating on an ear test.
  15. It should be a private link on YouTube that you can share with anyone who asks for it.
  16. The ROLAND KD-8 Kick Pad is a lightweight 8-inch high-quality trigger pad designed for V Drums, featuring a solid durable metal and rubber construction. Its compact size and lightweight design make it easy to transport and store, making it a versatile option for drummers looking for a reliable and high-quality kick pad to enhance their performance. Designed to replicate the sound and feel of a traditional kick drum. Great condition: tested and in full working order. Will work with all Roland TD modules. Selling due to kit upgrade. Width: 27cm Depth: 26cm Height: 40.5cm Weight: 6 lbs 7oz Only £55. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred.
  17. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  18. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  19. It bothers me that some of the cables don't go all the way to the edge of the frame!
  20. Love these. Super versatile and the necks on these are brilliant. Don't reckon Santa is bringing me one, but someone is getting a great bass here!

  22. And because I'm a showoff:
  23. Today
  24. I think I'd write off the 25 quid and get rid of the bass tbh. Not an ideal solution but it's one they've suggested, so the path of least resistance.
