  2. Thats a miracle of Lazarus-like proportions Pete! God only knows how they did it…
  3. In the 80s/90s I used a 150W Laney Probass. Imagine anyone daring to call a 150W head 'pro' these days!
  4. That's my favourite thing to do as well. I spend far too long getting parts perfect rather than getting good enough fast.
  5. I bought some cheap powered speakers from Thomann. To their credit they give RMS power as well as the manufacturers claimed power. "Power: 600 W Peak / 140 W (RMS)"
  6. Looking again I’d suggest the original foam disintegrated and this is some modern silicon putty from when the EMGs went in
  7. Sorry yes, Stranglers. I'd like to do the Presidents of the USA one because I've never heard anyone cover that, but alas it's not that one.
  8. I’ve never watched a ballet, modern dance yes, but not classical. However, I have tried with opera, but Carmen notwithstanding, it’s not for me. Then again, I’m not big on musicals either.
  9. I’m interested to see that pickup in your Bronco. I just bought one from a great old chap from Liverpool who had installed one of these (I think) in it. I’m away tonight but will send a photo tomorrow 👍
  10. These are proper nice basses! GLWTS
  11.  Link stripped out!

  13. Hey folks. i bought this back in February or March just because of my mild obsession with RATM and Timmy C. However, I’ve too many basses at home and in all honestly I don't do enough music stuff to warrant a myriad of basses throughout my house. So this got purchased and has lived in its case with the exception of 30 mins where I tested it out. Pretty much brand spanking new. The EBMM tag is still on the headstock. it’s limited edition worldwide (50 in each colour). This is the passive quentin blue version. it’s a brilliant bass but as I said, I don’t do enough to warrant keeping something like this. based in Aberdeen, can probs meet etc nearer Glasgow area. Or shipping. Though might need to find a box depending if the Status goes quick ha. Ta.

  15. If you read back about 4 posts or so you'll see I was telling Steve that I tried it in person and couldn't really see a mark on it. Not everybody likes piezo pickups? And yes I plugged it in. I also didn't say a piezo only creates hiss as I've owned a bass before with one.
  16. Can i ask what Peaches song ? Stranglers ? Did a youtube search and found a few different songs called Peaches. Dave
  17. *Checks map* ... Yep, Bedfordshire is still a long old way from Plymouth. ... *Sad face*
  18. Can confirm Vintage punches well above its weight.

  23. You are about to buy a bass, but the only reason not to get it is a piezo pickup that has an inbuilt preamp? If you think a piezo creates only hiss, you should test the bass. I have had an Affirma 4 (fretted), and now own a fretless 5. Both are from the first batch, 90's.
  24. That's where the voltage and amperage ratings come in. Most wire is rated at 600V. A 1kV amp into a 4 ohm load is 63v. 14 gauge wire is rated at 15A. Said 1kV into 4 ohms is 16A. However, those ratings are for constant full voltage and current. Amps never run at constant full voltage and current. Even 50% duty cycle would be unusual.
