  1. Past hour
  2. Looks like a surface scratch, probably from a hasty string change.
  3. I was given these albums after a relative that owned them died of cancer, as Bowie also died of cancer I thought selling them to raise ££ for cancer research would be the best thing to do. Selling all three together as a bundle rather than individually. You can publicly put bids on this thread or message me privately with your offer and I'll post up the amount, bids closing on 1st January. I'll transfer 100% of the money to Cancer Research UK and will send you a screenshot of the donation (and you can check my seller feedback), I'll post them to you for free. All are in great condition - the vinyl itself it all amazingly fresh looking for records that are over 50 years old (these are the 1972 pressing for Ziggy and Space Oddity, 1978 for Stage) . The covers are slightly worn, but great condition considering their age. I'm bearing in mind that I could alternatively sell these to a record shop/fair or via Facebook or Discogs (where I see they generally they go for at least £20 each in this condition) so I'll set the reserve at £40.

  6. I think I’ve found what I’m looking for so open to offers. Thanks Dave
  7. Just found my one so definitely open to offers on this- thanks Dave
  8. thanks man, it’s a stunning bass! 🎸
  9. Hohner "Jack" basses come up on the marketplace here & other well known marketplace sites quite often.
  10. The silver sparkle looks cool with the mirror plate too, nice addition! Where did you get the maple neck from? I thought the silver only came with a rosewood board?
  11. Stingray Classic Bass in rare Lake Tahoe Blue which is very similar to Lake Placid Blue with birdseye maple fretboard and neck from 2011. The body is made of ash and it’s general condition is 9/10 for it’s age with a small mark on the front of the bass (see photos) and the usual swirls on the pickguard, weight is 4.6kg. Also comes with a standard Musicman hardcase. Price £1,850 including full insured shipping. Also happy for anyone to come around and play it in my studio in Coalisland. Sale available to people living in Northern Ireland and UK mainland only. I have also advertised the bass on Ebay and Reverb but at a higher price due to commisson if you prefer to purchase it that way.

  12. We've all seen how much things like 80's Wal & Alembic basses go for, they're more like the bass equivalents of the "Classic / Vintage" LP / Strat. There's also that immeasurable "desirability" side of things, like one of John Entwistle's basses or some other such "name" player from a famous band.
  13. I did the same thing and spent a few years going down a Rabbit hole of US then Mex Ps. Finally found a Nate Mendel that makes me as happy as the original CV. Only took a few years and several hundred £s You live and learn
  14. Vaseline is find for lubricating ear plugs. Its also what the NHS audiologist uses i noticed.
  15. I’ve shared a bill with Shout, a thoroughly wonderful band.
  16. Younger new players seem more interested in buying something that looks like what their favourite bass player plays, or something in a specific colour. Age isn’t even thought about. So is the vintage instrument collector becoming vintage too.
  17. Ah man, I would love a second. It's one of those things .... If you were half an hour away I'd really struggle to stop myself!
  18. Our gig on 27th is struggling for ticket sales (no surprise to me) but it seems that we’re still currently doing it. Also meant to be playing Hogmanay. We had someone lined up to play it with us (a singer songwriter from Dundee) but for reasons bets known to herself, she’s thrown a wobbly and kicked us into touch. This means we’re stuffed for the 31st if we can’t find another act to share the bill with - ‘kin divas!
  19. I have owned several UK and MIC Ashdown`s and they have all been reliable and if it does throw a sickie then they are the best at helping you sort out the issue. In general the MIC products from reputable well know company`s are fine.
  20. Today
  21. Similarly, think our gig tomorrow night will be off - singer's caught the flu
  22. The 'proper' power amp with transformer adds a fair bit of weight along with the larger case size. And yes, they are built pretty tough too. It's a pretty typical weight for a non class D amp.
