I’m the same, voice doesn’t have enough character to do lead vocals but can harmonise and double up well with the lead.

So no dancing with large cider flagons wearing hob-nailed boots? Asking for a friend...

I know a few people who went along to see you, all good comments back. before reading this. but i'm sure a basschatter on stage made the difference.

First proper outing of my project bitsa P bass on Saturday night at a gig in the Griff and Coton Social Club in Nuneaton. First time there, small crowd but filled up as the night went on. Torrential horizontal rain and high winds during the load out at the end which was annoying. No pics unfortunately as I spent most of the time away from the stage nattering nonstop to people at the bar. Gear - the red bitsa Unfender P, Little Mark 2 and MB Traveller cabs etc.

Please share your experience of the Ampeg PF-50T

Hi all, I've had quite a bit of input and experiences from you shared here, so thank you. Some people have also contacted me privately with their own experiences. It seems opinion does vary widely, from "it would probably be ok", to, "it definitely won't cut it". I was of a mind to wait and see, and perhaps I could try one when I came across one, or someone locally had one I could try out. Now it turns out that Bass Bros have one in secondhand. I have had nothing but good experiences dealing with them, and as I'm a repeat offender at Bass Bros, I might be able to wiggle a bit off it. I'll have to ponder over it I suppose, and if it sells before I decide then c'est la vie. It doesn't help that Mesa have brought out the 800D, which has really piqued my interest too, but it's a completely different animal. Thanks for all your input, it is much appreciated. I still have some thinking to do! Rob -
And another thing 🙂 Since last year's Bash, the hall floor has been sanded and re-finished at substantial expense. Apart from asking for especially respectful use this time, I'd like anyone who has suitable (i.e. flat rubber) cable ducting to please bring it along to supplement what I already have. People tripping over cables is top of my risk-assessment list but gaffer tape will definitely be a no-no from now on. I'll be bringing a few rolls of wide masking tape or other low-tack tape if I can find something suitable. Any suggestions anybody? Ta very much!

I honestly think that if you can play an instrument then you can probably sing as well. Even if your tone isn’t great it can be of use, especially in smaller bands where any ’extras’ may prove invaluable in making the sound bigger / better.

Hi, Dagrev’s amp had a nasty buzz, didn’t sound hissing to me. Have you got a spare valve? I don’t have any bass amps with valve pre amp but i do have valve hifi amp and I remember buying Electroharmonix ECCs 83 for a phono pre amp only to find out they were noisy like a ,ehm, f*ck.. (compared to others..) Got another pair of ECC 83 = hissing gone.

Why specifically a fender precision? Is there also a required colour and a set number of strings? -
How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

Yeh, when I joined my current band, the old band had lights and PA. This one had PA but no lights. The 3rd gig we did was an outdoor gig at an old farm house. In the dark. I bought some lights. What is so special about his amp that it needs to be miked up? can he not go straight into the desk with a di or something if he hasn't got anything particualr Yeh, some times its just nice to step back and enjoy something for what it is. -

I tried one today; unfortunately not the charcoal as it had been sold, but they had fiesta red in stock. Nice build quality, great sound, but the matte finish on the neck is not for me. -
