I'll get the top box out. @neepheid can ride in that and that's space for at least an amp and five basses saved. I'll put a duvet and empty bottle in the top box so you are comfortable. Bluetooth to the car underneath will work so you can hear my music. If you get too hot, open the lid a bit. Job solved.

The Duke is overwound, correct? Anybody compared this with the normal Tonerider P? I’m well impressed with Tonerider pups overall.

It’s true that as we age cartilaginous structures, like the ears and the nose, appear bigger with time. Gravity and the slow breakdown of cartilage will impact the size and shape of the ear canals - and hence fit of custom IEMs - as time goes by. Nothing we can do about it except consider getting news moulds taken, unfortunately.

Most popular round here is ACS - they seem more expensive than Cosmic but their price includes ear impressions, and there's a BassChat discount code...

The review says it all: comprehensive, US published and hard to find. Price is UK posted, unread condition. Now £16. Times And Seasons - The Rise and Fall and Rise of the Zombies Robin Platts HoZac Books, $31.99 356 pages Classic British pop, expertly chronicled Few books on the Zombies exist, but theirs is a story worth telling. And it's predictable that, given their Stateside star status, this quintessentially English quintet of She's Not There and Tell He No fame should be chronicled on an American imprint. The band only hung up its touring shoes last year after leader/keyboardist Rod Argent's stroke, but the work he and singer Colin Blunstone created after their reunion in 2001 - the years since 1968 being silent, in a Zombies sense - are also covered in detail by author Platts. The band always had a youthful camaraderie, having come together at high school, and that comes over faithfully in this account of their heyday - plus a long tail that details their subsequent musical careers. While Blunstone went solo and Argent created an eponymous prog band (of God Gave Rock And Roll To You fame), guitarist Paul Atkinson went behind the scenes and signed Abba to CBS - a feather in anyone's cap. Detail is forensic without being stifling. If the layout is a trifle fanzine-y, the integration of illustrative material like press cuttings and photos with the text helps make this an easy read. And the urge to play the music, always the sign of a good book, is irresistible.

One of the best things about the G&L electronics package is the ability to play in passive mode even if the battery dies. It’s crazy to me that more active bass manufacturers don’t provide this. I just picked up a very cheap, candy red sparkle L-2000 from Japan. It’s an absolute in-your-face belter!

Very. Pick 5 and one amp. You can bring a different set to the midlands bash in 2026. 🤪

Bought in the hope i could get away with 30 all valve watts but unfortunately not. Brand new JJ EL84’s fitted and comes with a spare set of EH valves. Really nice amp and tone to die for - if i could have this tone with more power id be in heaven! Collection from Bolton or could do a meet up. Could cut a deal if you want the ABM 4x10 ive also advertised on here. Would consider part ex for a Cali 76 Bass compact

Try stuff until I like how it sounds, and realise it will be different for different venues, bands and even tracks. Don't get too cork sniffer about tone.

A choice between finishing the bass or a six string ? Oh come on Rob , this is BASSchat . 😁 -
Sweet. Love to hear a review once you've had a chance to play it. I'd love one or even a 6. Which finish did you get? Sire told me 18mm - I asked them a while back.

This ought to do it for you. 250k pots all round according to Seymour Duncan. And the pot type is typically referred to as a "blend" pot. That ought to help you find one.

Key areas for consideration. 1. Musical compatibility. 2. Similar level of commitment 3. Personal compatibility. 4. Long term aims.
-
The detune mode is beautiful on fretless and the possible harmonies on bass look promising........... In my band many of our songs are capo-ed and to change pitch accurately is a real boon!
-
Your ears continue to grow/change shape and around 4 years is when you'd usually look at replacing moulded IEMs. If "years ago" is longer than that, then it's probably time for fresh ones! I can highly recommend Cosmic Ears. UK based, options at various price points and very good service.

And here I was thinking I was the only one with the Schatten mini pre, I use it with my DB's and love being able to adjust volume so easily. I run the NuX from the bass to the mini pre that is mounted on my mic stand using a bracket I made and then it goes by cable to my amp or directly to the PA. Cheap, you can adjust the impedance and it's simple to use, can't get much better than that!
