  2. That is something I had hoped to make clear in the original post, and I believe why the classification of Bronchiectasis came into being. As for how the lung damage happened, my "Asthma" started at 1 year of age. At exactly the same time as the Great Smog (Dec 1952). The Great Smog lasted 6 days and the air contained sulphur dioxide plus moisture. Mix those two and you have dilute Sulphuric Acid to breathe.
  3. Reduced to £150 - bargain or what!
  4. I bought this new in 2019 direct from Barefaced with a custom white baffle. It is the clearest and loudest sounding cab I've ever owned but it's really a bit too much for the gigs I'm doing. It's happy with a wide range of amps, I've used TC Electronics, Mark Bass, Ashdown and even a Trace Elf! All sounded super. Prefer collection for this one or meet up in central belt. Includes the original barefaced padded cover. If you are in the area, pop round for a coffee and a tryout. Thanks for looking.
  5. Cheers - I’ve been looking around and some have gone for a lot more, so hope the pricing is fair / good.
  6. I've had a few fretless Stingrays, all with Pau Ferro boards and found them all well suited to the job. I don't think it looks as cosmetically nice as ebony but that's a minor point. One thing I did note though is that it's a bit on the brittle side, I had the board resurfaced on a SR5 as it had a little wear and when the nut was removed a bit of the board at the back of the nut popped off and had to be glued back into place.
  7. I had one of these. The P90 simulation was really good... and hum-free! At the time I was playing mostly a Les Paul with P90s, but the Variax sounded so much cleaner (when dirty, if you know what I mean ). Very tempting, but I can't justify it right now... Good luck with the sale!
  8. Paper Late - Genesis
  9. Is the Pink Lionel active/passive? Did you get it from Bass Direct?
  10. Oh I think they`re great Terry, I bought the BB1100s this year as a nostalgia move because my first proper bass back in 1987 was one of these. It really is so versatile, not much it can`t do, and super-reliable too, did hundreds of gigs on my one back then, and with no back-up. If I were a session musician and could only take one "does it all" instrument then this would be the bass I`d take. The only change/improvement I could think of is having volume controls for each pickup rather than just the P/PJ/J switch.
  11. Welcome from deepest Sutherland, the most secluded, peaceful and beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands. No big dramas here, just like this site.
  12. I actually own 3 more of the same mic (Red5Audio RV8) all of them working, i'll have to have a look and see how easy swapping the capsule is, i've been meaning to inspect the circuit as well, my guess is either a bad solder joint or maybe a blown capacitor, i've got a feeling it's all surface mount though so beyond my soldering skills. maybe this is a good opportunity to build a replacement circuit for it. Matt
  13. Standard 4 string 5 hole fender replacement, fch version used but only a bit, very good but I prefer not having to lock everything down…. 95 new by the looks of it so 50 plus postage? no body screws btw but everything else intact, shiny and smooth
  14. I think the best sale I've ever had was meeting @Happy Jack for a pub lunch (which he paid for!) and nearly getting thrown out by the non-bass loving landlord. Music is all about relationships.
  15. The other thing about values of items you can genuinely have no idea what something you've had forever is worth. I have a friend who is trying to get rid of his guitar collection. Lots of very high-end electric guitars from the fifties and sixties. They were cheaper and better than new ones when he bought them in the eighties. Probably not now!
  16. I get you. It's interesting because I tried a used Yamaha BB1025x last Saturday in The Bass Gallery and switched off the bridge pickup and went P bass mode-warmth and punch for days I thought. Obviously not by you but I feel the Yamaha BB range doesn't get the credit I feel they deserve.

  18. Stutter Rap - Morris Minor and the Majors
  19. I think Peavey amps remain static as no-one can move them 🤣
  20. I suspect that the 5U height specification might be the sticking point. IME ready-made light-weight plastic racks tend to come in multiples of 2 or 3 units depending on the brand. The only ones I have seen that don't conform to this are custom-made plywood with aluminium cladding rack cases which are much heavier. You may have to go for 6U to get something suitably light-weight.
  21. Agree, back when I was starting to play - 1980/81 - there were two Gretsch guitars advertised in the local paper, £8 each. I didn`t know much about guitars back then, had never heard of Gretsch, but did have £8 and wanted to buy a guitar so rang the seller who said that she was selling them on behalf of her son who had joined the navy who was selling up as he wasn`t likely to play again anytime soon. She said they`d both gone very quickly and there had been a lot of interest. So I did a bit of research and found out that that was rather a a bargain to say the least. I also wonder what the son did when presented with his £16 for those two Gretsches........
  22. Sharing my current rig. Just got the Anagram today which I intend to use as flyrig. It’s as big as my Nintendo Switch I love it! Small board is still my meat and potatoes so it stays.
  23. Some courage needed, but you could swap the 'duff' capsule for a working one from a similar mic; that'll show up which part isn't working. As has been stated, it's less often the capsule than the pre-amp, but that's the simple test, if you have an equivalent working mic. Worth a try..?
  24. Today
  25. i'm watching this, I got a dead condenser mic in a deal a while back (as an addition to a working one) as the housing is in nice shape i'm tempted to build something from it. I've looked at the capsules that Thomann sells as replacements for the T-bone mics, they have good reviews but that's often not a true representation of how good they truly are. is there a good way to test the capsule? i don't know if it's the capsule or the circuit that is dead in mine so it would be good to determine either way. Matt
  26. Well, people can make their money however they like but the idea you can "flip" things and consistently make money is just delusional. It's like the idea of businesses that make "passive" income -nonsense. I bought a bass on here just on the basis of feedback from other people. I have no idea about what I'm trying to achieve with my bass paying yet but I thought buying from someone who posts here a lot and said the instrument was well sorted was better than relying on ebay. Business is people selling to other people. Flippers often don't get that.
