  2. Am I allowed to say 'told you so'? 😉
  3. Ah no, my poor search skills. Any mods reading this, can this thread be merged with that or deleted?
  4. Path of least resistance, innit? Plus one of the things that tickle me about these basses is the fact that they installed the E and G tuners "upside down" to facilitate this - that's attention to detail I enjoy. Coming with me to the SWBB? Oh yeah - you know my modus operandi - "go big or go home"... at the NWBB last weekend... 12 basses, 2 amp rigs, ironmongery, cables, a BFM Omni 10 cab in a Mitsubishi Colt and I could still see out the back window...
  5. It often is for those of us who live here Daryl! 🤪
  6. Thanks! It's part of a set of illustrations I did of my band to go on the back of the CD copy of our latest single "Robert Smith's Eyes" The CD version has added googly eyes to match what I did on the front cover: And as we're a post-punk/goth influenced band the 80s look was very appropriate.
  7. Sadowsky Scratchplate/ pickguard . Black, was on a 2005 MIJ mv4 from new. Some wear evident
  8. For sale new sealed 4 string set of Daddario half wounds enr70 long scale 40-95 semi flatwound strings
  9. Sounds just like a bass balls to me
  10. See you there mate.
  11. Wow. The only Wilkes bass I've ever laid hands on was a fretless with the big slap plates in the fingerboard, that was a proper monster. This looks gorgeous. What's the string spacing at the bridge? Looks like 17 or so in the pics?
  12. Oh thank god. You see so many of these lovely basses with the E and G strung all to cóck at the headstock (generally as per the red lines below), so you have restored my faith in human nature by doing it properly. Thank you thank you thank you. Will you be bringing this wee cutie to the SWBB?
  13. That's a very cool 80's-esque look you have going on there. Are you auditioning for a Depeche Mode reboot?
  14. Wooden Tít Be Good - Nik Kershaw
  15. No, you're not talking nonsense at all. Whenever you play either a headless bass, or an instrument with a small/thin headstock, you really do feel the lack of mass going through your left hand/wrist compared to other basses. And the centre of gravity really does shift significantly. I find these days that even my light weight ash Jazz seems to neck dive a little. It also makes you fly around the neck a littler faster. But maybe that's a myth too
  16. Some of us are talented; others less so...
  17. Foe sale or trade for a preamp pedal. The by now very well known and regarded MXR octave deluxe. In very good cosmetic condition aside from two small marks, and fully functional. Has some velcro still on the bottom. Price includes p&p to standard UK addresses. Cheers.

  20. Here’s my new custom order Heistercamp strap. I haven’t used it yet other than trying it on at home and matching the length to my old strap, but it looks & feels great. Top service from the staff, they contacted me when it was posted with tracking details (sent next day guaranteed by 1pm, though I was out so got it a day later). It came well wrapped with tissue paper, in a lovely box, with a cuddly keyring (which is now on my gear rucksack), strap blocks, picks, business card & handwritten note. In case anyone is curious (most of their straps I’ve seen on here are unpadded), the padding is about 21” long, 2.5” wide, and makes the strap about 8mm thick for the part it covers. The padding is as wide as it can be to allow for the stitching on the 3” strap. The front is most definitely black, it just looks a bit grey as I took the pics outside in the sun. The leather is super soft and the quality is amazing. The option to customize colour & have a differently coloured backing is really cool. This will go well with my Candy Apple Red Precision. I’m impressed.

  22. Great idea! Here's me playing football. Take that, cocky computers.
  23. Love my Monaco with my electric basses! Clear, punchy, authoritative and full with wonderful dispersion. Couldn't ask for more!
