  2. Twa' Corgis - Steeleye Spaniel
  3. The Super Compact is the most traditional sounding of the BF 12" cabs and should do the business with a suitable amp. It and your Markbass should be perfect for the old school sound you seem to crave. Which leaves the instrument. Something like a P bass would be far more likely to do the business, imho. It's also worth noting that no single 12" cab will give you the sound you get from a large PA. The laws of physics and all that.
  4. Short Scale Strings For Sale D’Addario, Rotosound, Hofner Ignore the price above that is for all of them! D’Addario XL nickel round wounds 45-100 two new sets £15 each set posted D’Addario Pro Steels round wounds 45-100 new £18 posted Hofner Flats 40-95 (I think) used but in excellent condition and tidy silks £20 posted Rotosound Tru Bass black nylon flats 65-115 new (medium scale so will fit Hofner basses) £26 UK only.
  5. Maybe Andertons have been following the "Ruin a Band or musician's name by replacing a single letter" thread on here? Don't Fodera make a Victor Woolen bass? 🤣
  6. The ultimate pocket-rocket! Fantastic little amp in mint condish. Collect from Chesterfield (5 mins from M1) or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

  7. Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
  8. I think the overall EQ / bass boost is the same. Heard one commenter saying one or the other was more ‘amp-like’, but that’s about it. I can get the V pretty close with the switch to the right and boosting the presence, but it’s not exact.
  9. This month we have put out a cover of the Duran Duran track, A View to a Kill, which obviously has a great bass line to get stuck into.
  10. Anyway @SteveXFR, has your daughter made the decision yet and which way did it go, and how’s she getting on with it?
  11. The guy in that video is only 27 😆
  12. Yikes, just remembered I paid £45 for the Gigrig 9V to 12V converter. I will be as good as my word and throw it in so the buyer can sell on (if they don't need it for other pedals) and part defray the £285 outlay
  13. The Terrier Time - Ewan MacColl
  14. That used to be true, but between wages rising and the student loan repayment threshold not rising it’s now only just above the full-time national minimum wage. It’s become a graduate tax in all but name.
  15. This USA made 44-60 features a rare matching headstock and has also been fitted with a hipshot D-tuner (original tuner still available). Some cosmetic wear and tear on the body but it still sounds and plays great! SKB hard case included (shown in first photo). Proof of ownership photo at the end. Collection only

  16. The Jazz can "impersonate" a P bass using neck pickup only rather than emulate one. Two very different terms ☺️ In a live setting it gets close enough-a blind test in that environment would yield interesting results 👍
  17. I’ve now got some decent boxes and packaging material so can offer postage / courier options if you’ve not got a Norfolk passport 🤣 Drop me a message if interested.
  18. Messaged a while ago about when the preamp knobs would be back in stock, also put myself on the email waiting list. Heard nothing so ordered the Guyker clones off AliExpress. Emailed earlier this year about a UniPre 5 knob with the active/passive wired to an individual switch, again no response so made other arrangements.
  19. Maybe the Fluff McKagan will be more suitable?
  20. In a range of finishes!
  21. I dont think the P can emulate a Jazz, and certainly it cant be done the other way round, the solution is to have both
  22. I was going to get the Buff McKagan P-Bass, but I can’t cope with the 15lb weight
  23. Audio Evolution was the best when I used it a few years ago. I used it to edit together the music for a school concert I was involved in. User friendly and good quality, probably even better now. https://www.extreamsd.com/
  24. My Collie (Not a Dog) - Barbie Gaye / The Selecter
  25. I'm excitedly looking forward to receiving my Jaydee Mary King bass.
